I enjoyed hearing how Ellen Langer, uses these exercises & common tools (eg:the clock) to aid people into mindfulness...guiding themselves into an introspective mindfulness state and promoting self reliance for their health and wellbeing monitoring.
Unfortunately Ellen has something I disagree with....she says humans can't Predict ...
Pre means “before” and diction has to do with talking. So a prediction is a statement about the future. Humans have predicting forever in the past, and will do so , for generations in the future.
Predicting is an important part of any inquiry. Predicting supports the development of critical thinking skills by requiring students to draw upon their prior knowledge and experiences as well as observations to anticipate what might happen.
I wonder if Ellen's data is applicable in 100 yrs...when the environment has been drastically altered and the human condition is changed.

Jim...how can we get past the constantly disruptive and distracting ads? I shared this interview...gladly... with my FB pals but honestly....if they watch TV ...which I haven't in a decade plus....I don't see them listening all the way thru. Google is KILLING what You Tube once was. 😢

I have experienced the improvement of my vision that I couldn't believe at 65 years it did improve 50%. But I wore glasses driving by night. Never depended on them. Wonderful program. There's always something new to learn. Thank you so much 💓 .

One of her podcasts suggested noticing three new things in a seemingly familiar environment every time. I love this❣️ I have turned it into a game with myself. Thanks Ellen ❤

I LOVE THIS: "the amount of control we have over our health and well-being just so far exceeeds anything anyone assumes" THAT IS EXCITING.

Our way of being, if it’s conscious is mindfulness, so to me mindfulness is BOTH a practice and a way of being.

"All behavior is belief driven." Therein you have it. It is what you believe that determines your destiny. I am a Christian and believe in the principles of the Bible. It's called Faith. I have been healed from many health issues the doctors could not figure out, gone thru divorce, bankruptcy and much more. "When you believe, all things are possible." Keep looking up!

Very interesting woman , Dr Ellen Langer is ....
She is hyper focused on the Reprogramming of ones childhood environmental belief system, to a more Syncronized Truthful way of being, making the mistakes , until the common simple fact , presents itself..her controlled environmental experiments + scientific anaylsis = repeated results.
While Jim is using a Wide lense , for his subscribers of a basic understanding and connections to a familiar root living system , in a complex world.

    The Scriptures say:
    GALATIANS 6:
"For we fight NOT against FLESH and BLOOD...but against principalities powers and spiritual wickedness in high places '
    ALSO:
"For the weapons if our WARFARE are not canal...but they are MIGHTY through GOD.
    Casting down:
    1) IMAGINATIONs
    2) STRONGHOLDS
3)and every HIGH THING that EXALTETH itself ABOVE GOD "

I think she is talking about how we compartmentalizes them as seperate, they aren't we are a whole person, so what you think you are affect your health body, outlook. Its something I teach, emotional suppression will eventually affect your immune system and that makes you susceptible to disease...this is how I am hearing it, she is coming from the practice aspect, not spiritual, although she does acknowledge that there is also that component, she's attempting to explain the science connection.
