Personally I think the powers she gained are probably best anyone has been given in the animes I can think of. Being able to teleport anywhere and bring stuff with her, including Earth, another world she visited and other places she has seen or can see to visualize being there. With best, I mean the ones I would like to have if I got invovled in som,e kind of Isekai king... Being able to go back home and continue as normal, and then do what feels right for you.. Teleportation between worlds anywhere she wants and can envision, health/regeneration and languages is a powerful kit.

Even the military dude is super nice and never took advantage of her. I'm just like real life usually doesn't work like that. I mean they did have "bullies" and even bandits and monsters. But they were easily handled mostly because of plot.
This hits differently. It is - indeed - stupid but it is also wholesome as heck and I doubt anybody didn't have this exact fantasy at some point. Thanks for this recap. Honestly I would never get into the original content. I just can't spare the time.
But is raises a moral question: there should be a way to still support the original creators. I suppose one could buy some episodes of the really good animes.
also one could suspect her little feudal granted land will become an agricultural and manufacturing powerhouse due to artificial fertiliser (this is what made world population explode!) and modern seeds and crop science as well as basic manufacturing. I don't want to think about the consequences too much since it will logically topple the aristocracy (but the nobles in this world seem good hearted enough to not be overthrown on the other hand). But she basically is the deus ex machina moment for the whole world on this series. She can industrialise it with the hindsight of the negatives as well as providing the instant 200 years of progress in between the steam engine and environmental friendly green tech.
First off, no most people do not have this exact fantasy, or even similar one. Most people want to have OP powers that usually makes them strongest character.
Secondly, the MC is disgusting, lying, hypocritical manipulator, which is interesting to some people admittedly, but the show tries too hard to portray it as "innocent and pure" rather than the garbage personality it is. Even if you spared the time to watch the show and get over the boring, slow plot, the MC kinda kills the mood.
Thirdly, just because commoners have power does not mean they want to overthrow the aristocratic system. Revolutions are a campaign against tyranny, and making this assumption completely devalues what actual revolutions were about.
Finally, there is no moral question; only to stupid idiots there is. Inventions itself are based on taking other people's work and improving it, thats how science develops. Whereas in the art department, the same thing is called "plagiarism"" by braindead idiots who chose art because their logic sucks to get into thinking professions.

Yeah, the idea of a "hero's journey" has apparently been scrapped. Now modern anime just makes the MC an overpowered super being in the first episode, and spends the next 11-12 episodes inventing plot points to make the MC look good. No character growth, no real danger. Just inherently superior. It reeks of woke entitlement.

@@sethraelthebard5459 While I agree with your points against alot of these isekie anime but in this she isnt over powered in the slightest, her only abilitys are healing thats never being reallt utilised, the ability to travel between worlds and language, In the first epidode she almost died of just exposure if not for being found and She had to hire mercinarys just for a trip into the woods and still almost got killed by a boar, also the anime is mainly about her opening a shop trying to make money not be a hero despite what happan's towards the end.
Imagine being a shoplifter and stealing a stuffed animal from some woman's shop and then some guy shoots you in the leg and then tells you "The Messenger sends her regards"
In case anyone is interested, this story was written by the same author who wrote "Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next LIfe?!" which has already aired, and "I Shall Survive Using Potions" which just dropped it's first episode.
This recap is amazing My favorite part is when they used the army to attack the enemies: We can win we have armor and beasts! while an orphan:orders an army to shoot missiles and guns at them this is so awesome, Wish that there was more action
If only mercenaries has little bit more umpf like MBT's and attack helicopters. Still should have given the enemy army ultimatum to retreat or perish and when that was declined have snipers take out commanders, followed by volley fire from small arms and if that didnt give a hint, open up with battle cannons and grenade launchers, finalizing things with attack helicopters. Pretty sure black dragon would gone down with volley of APFSDS ammo from the tanks.

However, they were much more terrifying because of the loud boom. Old wars were fought more on Moral rather than on Blood.
Yeah, just hearing the unknown booms would be enough to cause the enemy Army to flee.
The manga took this to a far more brutal level. As you say, if you were a medieval soldier back then, you hear an amplified girl's voice saying "you're all going to hell because I decree it, witness God's wrath...!". This is followed by M2 .50 and 7.62 fire sweeping across your ranks (none of this "arms and legs" like the anime), which to someone back then would be the closest thing to divine wrath they could imagine. Pretty much why a lot of them were saying they wanted to give up right there and then.
The premise of a teenage Japanese girl befriending a PMC is hilarious all on its own.

I thoroughly enjoyed this anime. I especially liked that they taught her the four rules of basic firearm safety - although it looks like the sub translator botched it a little bit. Having all three of her firearms chambered for 9mm was smart. You don't want to have to carry around multiple calibers.

Exactly lol I was like what the heck when she brought first items. Everysingle item she's spamming are new inventions in that period. It's not just knife. She's bringing new iron/steel/alloy/plastics/nickel etc. Some blacksmith will learn to make it soon since there are so many examples now thanks to her. And soon new inventions will be made. She's distorting this world's timeline so badly just to make 10mil dollar. Haha. Also Gold Coins are far more valuable than this anime creator's thinking. A single gold coin from ancient period could be 10k $ easily adding time value and much bigger than later gold coins. Just think new modern small gold coins are 2k$. If she wanted to retire with only 10mil$ then 100-1000 gold coins are enough, not that 80.000 mentioned in anime.

@@Spright_Carrot Pit bull was just a minor incident in their youth; Mitsuha even comments that was false bravado ("that dog was on a leash, you know...")
The real tragedy was that 6 months prior to the start of this series; the parents and older brother all perished in a car accident, leaving Mitsuha an orphan. A greedy uncle/aunt and outside scammers all tried stealing her inheritance, which she had to fight off. All this combined led to her failing her University entrance exam (that scene where the principal says he was surprised she failed because her previous academic record suggested she would have passed, but that she had been through a lot) (all this covered in greater detail in the LN/manga).
Mitsuha loved her family, but idolized her older brother; his loss hit her the most. Throughout the anime, the brother flashbacks are basically a coping mechanism (and an anime story-telling method of advancing the narrative).

Mitsua had an awesome Big Brother! Because of him she's intelligent, clever and has great common sense/street smarts, he definitely raised her to stand on her own two feet confidently!
In the manga/LN, it's specified that Mitsuya idolized her big brother and that his death hit her the hardest of all. It does say pre-accident that she was highly intelligent, focused, and courageous but the stress of the accident had left her a shell of herself until that fall off the cliff.

She is a scammer, but she also later gets scammed pretty hard as well. What goes around comes around.
After introducing Reversi (with the hopes of making money for her province making/selling board sets), Mitsuha challenges Sabine to a match, mostly to mollify her from making more requests, thinking it'll be easy since she had never seen the game before. She proceeds to get annihilated 0-5; the humiliation costs her a mountain bike. Her ego continues to take a beating from Claus and Iris Boses, who despite being complete novices, beat her down 2-3 and 1-4 respectively but at least those didn't cost her anything other than pride.
While teaching the orphan kids to sell her popcorn (another product from her province; and to be fair, the kids get a generous cut of the sales profits), the kids ask if they can sell her likeness because she's so popular (she is the savior of the city after all). She absent-mindedly says OK, then allowed them to cut her hair (they suggest "it's getting long"). She comes back later only to find the dolls "with real Hime-Miko-Sama hair inside" selling like hotcakes. She's unsure which is worse; seeing her likeness (with her hair!) selling for such ridiculous amounts of money, or that she was out-entreprenerd by a bunch of orphans.
Never mind every other isekai, THIS is actually how is an isekai would actually be. This was one if the only "realistic" isekai id seen in a super long time and enjoyed it immensely, ut was eo much fun.

She's described as highly intelligent (LN says she has the potential to enter any college in Japan in the opening passage and that's no easy feat) but I didn't consider the possibility that she was a high-functioning autistic. It very well might explain her rapid shifts in mood (going from cheerful friendly to ice cold in a snap when confronted by certain individuals), occasional lapses in tact (like poor Anke in the shower), and her tendency towards anxiety when having to deal with nobles in social gatherings. It also might explain her delayed grief response towards her family tragedy.

Pearls can be highly variable in value. Being medieval times, Iris' pearls would have been naturally harvested, so would have deformities and blemishes. Mitsuha has a 1.3M Yen cultured pearl necklace, which would be nearly perfectly spherical and flawlessly lustrous. Finding even a single pearl like this in nature outside a lab-grown facility (which wouldn't exist in medieval times) would be like finding a Unicorn. Finding a whole necklace and you get Iris' reaction. Basically, Mitsuha has way overshot her mark (as she is want to do throughout this series).

the funny thing about this anime, is one line thats over looked.
she can travel between worlds... The creature says he travels realities.. not just 2... not just earth and that world. So she's not locked to just those 2 worlds... she COULD travel to any reality she finds out about... while tricky she might be able to find out about more and travel there too.
She mentions this to herself in the novel (assuming she found out about them) but speculates that she'd need a spacesuit first just to be safe.

I don't know if this anime is something I'd be interested in. However if I was given those powers I'd probably really take advantage of them (if the regeneration was untested then it would at least be worth testing a little bit so I'd get an idea of potential limitations. And with being able to teleport to different worlds so long as you can see yourself being there. If you think about it this can be exploited by the idea of what if you can see yourself being in a game and if that works you can gain basically any powers you want, and the stuff about language really would help traveling across the multiverse)
