Dude, the fact that you made this yourself is just awesome. Everything about the video fits perfectly. It's gotta be one of the best lyric videos I've ever seen on youtube. Bravo.
The lyrics to this song are so powerful! And what's just as great is that you made a lyric video to help enforce it. So amazing...I thought this was the official video just like everyone else did ❤
Woah!!!! Been listening to this video for ages, just realized it's a fan made And the description Good guy lyrics guy. You should really make more, this is insane!
She took a walk and kept her head to the ground And everything around her, it was tumbling down The veil she hid behind was not as safe and sound as she thought You were there while she was starting to drown She disappeared as all the waters abounded Standing by, you watched and fed your hurt with a frown Well bravo, bravo You say that you loved her And in a sense, well that's more than ordinary I'm begging to differ The lights we burn have all faded out (Woah) Is anybody seeing this? (Woah) We've left the dead behind in the crowd We're not the enemy We got the remedy Well look around you, tell me what do they need? You stand surrounded by a world on its knees The love that only God could deed gets lost in the pride of our lives And He cries You say that you loved them And in a sense, that's more than ordinary I'm begging to differ The lights we burn have all faded out (Woah) Is anybody seeing this? (Woah) We've left the dead behind in the crowd We're not the enemy We got the remedy There's someone alone in the dark (Show me a life not dark and broken) And we have the light in our hearts (Give me a life not dark and broken) So let it out, let it out, let it radiate Let the world see the light we held so far away It gives them life, gives them peace beyond the world of man So let it out, let the world become alive again The lights we burn have all faded out Is anybody seeing this? We've left the dead behind in the crowd The lights we burn have all faded out (Woah) Is anybody seeing this? (Woah) We've left the dead behind in the crowd We're not the enemy We got the remedy The lights we burn have all faded out Is anybody seeing this? We've left the dead behind in the crowd We're not the enemy We got the remedy We're not the enemy We got the remedy
And I found yet another super uplifting track by these guys. So glad to see they went back to this style after their last electropop disaster of an album.
888 Metallimusiikki Jesus christ! That takes some dedication. Well, it paid off, and the video most definitely reflects the time and effort put into it. Great job man :)
Can someone explain what does the: "You say that you loved them and in a sense that's more than ordinary, i'm begging to differ" means? Besides - cool video :D
i know this is a bit late, but i hope this helps! i think this lyric itself is actually 'you say that you loved her/them, and "in a sense thats more than ordinary"- i'm begging to differ' as if quoting the "you" that claims to have loved her/them, if that makes sense? i hope this helped!
(You say that you loved them, I'm begging to differ.) That line could mean that (you) never loved them to begin with, and that (you) were lying. Hoped this helped!

We've left the dead behind in the crowd The lights we burn have all faded out (Woah) Is anybody seeing this? (Woah) We've left the dead behind in the crowd We're not the enemy We got the remedy~ I’m not sure what this song means to some but it’s Imagining going through darkest hours and the part when the lead singer Jeremy sings “There’s someone alone in the dark” meaning there’s someone else who is not having it all too well as you aren’t / worse.
Crystal Garrett I guess nobody is gonna understand my nick at all. Its a bilingual joke between portuguese and english, the literal translation is "ninguém sim porta", which is read exactly as "ninguém se importa", that means "nobody cares". Sounds funny hahaha
The water is a still picture of the album cover. One could argue that the picture moves, and thus the water technically moves; however, one could say "3/10 unnatural water movement." If water kinetics and realism are the standard, I could not fault them for that rating.
+Noctis Caelum The first stanza sets the stage of someone who is lost in the darkness without knowledge that gives peace and life. Then someone (expressed as you in the song) says they care for the lost person but never acted on this statement of care even though they had the light." They left them alone in the dark," by not sharing the light. "The lights we have burned have all faded out;" means that Christians have Christ's love but sometimes do not manifest him in their lives or share Christ with the lost. "We've left the dead behind in the crowd;" further exemplifies this point. The bridge is a cry to Christians to share their gift of Christ's love with the lost, the ones who need his love; it "gives them life, gives them peace beyond the world of man." The terms lost or dead are synonyms for those who are not Christians. The light is representative of the enlightenment of following Christ.I hope this explains.
I agree with the first responder, but in my own personal interpretation, there's more to it. It not only tells of how Christians don't share their faith, but it also comments on that fact that some Christians tend to attack certain groups (the LGBT+ community, people of other religions, etc.) under the pretense that they are doing it because they want to share their faith, but in reality all they are doing is causing harm. "She disappeared as all the waters abounded Standing by, you watched and fed your hurt with a frown Well bravo, bravo" Like the 1st responder said, "she" is someone who never came to Christ, but the sarcastic bravos suggest that whoever did not just say nothing, they did something more. I always imagined that "she" is a lesbian, and when she came out to her Christian friend, the friend rejected her and told her he wouldn't speak to her anymore more because of her "sin"; Because of that, not only did the friend not save her, he made her think that she would be scorned by all Christians and never got close to God because she assumed that He would hate her. Meanwhile, the friend felt that HE was the one who had been betrayed "fed your hurt with a frown", and realized his mistake only too late. "You say that you loved them And in a sense, that's more than ordinary I'm begging to differ" These lines refer to "hate the sin, love the sinner" and the fact that many Christians only say that to excuse their actions. Don't get me wrong, God loves everyone and is deeply grieved when we sin, but not every person who says that means it. I have seen and heard of many Christians who repeat, "hate the sin, love the sinner" again and again, all while they call Muslims terrorists and LGBT+ people fags. We should love everyone, but all too often people don't. People hold onto their deeply seated prejudices and say, "I'm not hating the sinner, I'm just hating the sin." "The love that only God could deed gets lost in the pride of our lives And He cries" Every single person on this planet is a sinner. I'm a sinner, you're a sinner, every Christian is a sinner. Every Muslim is a sinner, every gay, bisexual, queer, and trans person is a sinner. We're all in the same category: sinner. Yet some Christians, because God had the mercy to send His Son to die, somehow believe that because of that they are somehow superior to everyone else because God had pity and only THEY can save the ignorant little nonbelievers from their own willful wickedness. They say, "Oh, yes, we're all sinners, but YOUR sin, you need to repent, quickly, so you can become just like me." Christians practice pride, one of the greatest sins, in God's own name. People can recognize this hypocrisy, and so they run away from God. Sure, God uses us to reach others, but it is always God who is doing the saving and whom we are always indebted to. "We're not the enemy We got the remedy" This pretty much sums up the entire song. So many people believe that Christians are holier-than-thou hypocrites, and I can understand them. Some Christians shun entire groups of people because of the actions of a few, they disown and kick out their own children, they dehumanize trans people, and they do this all while they cry that they are persecuted. Try to view Christians from an eye that isn't. Can you understand where so many people are coming from? That went on for a while. This song is my favorite from Nine Lashes and many be among my favorite Christian songs of all time. I love the message, especially in an industry where every song seems to repeat over and over how God is great and we as Christians reject sinful living. Again, don't me wrong, those are good messages, but I love how this song points out the flaws in the modern church, at least in the way I interpret it.
That's an incredibly wide view saying Christians beliefs are like that. Christians just belive what they believe. I've gone to church my entire life and have never had a pasture say that Homosexuality is bad, we just believe it's a sin. You can't judge us for what we believe. I believe that Homosexuals should be pushed aside but accpeted into the community. for me we accept homosexuality but we dont support it
