@@freyareadstarot5277 I genuinely just liked them together..? I did in the book too and thought the book went a little more in depth. I liked Daisy and Billie together too but Karen and Graham’s connection was a little more innocent. It made me sad for Graham. Just because one couple has depth doesn’t mean it takes away from the other…

I loved karen i believe she is the best character ever and i hate how lots of people hate on her for what she did to graham but i think that she let him go cuz she knew that she couldnt give hom the life he wanted and that shows how much she loved him

Karen was very talented but at the end of the day she didn't care about anything but her career- which is fine, but yeah still sad how she did Will. Not surprising though at all- I mean she pretty much told him what it was from the beginning. He just thought he could change her along the way.
nah i would say she broke it off bc she knew in the long run they wouldn't work, they wanted different things in life. i mean yeah, she was also chasing this dream of being a rock star and did find it in the end, but i wouldnt say she thought of her relationship with graham as unimportant. she loved him, very deeply i think too, but she knew if she were to be honest with him in that moment and tell him she loved him too, graham wouldnt have let her walk away from the relationship later on. he loved her so much that he would have stayed with her forever even if he didnt get the life he dreamed of and Karen (bc she cared for him) didnt let that happen, though she hurt him in that moment, i feel like she did what was best for the both of them.
but on another note, damn how i wish that they had dived deeper into Karen's character like they did with other side characters like Simone and Teddy..
@@gaeforchaex I do believe she cared about Graham as a friend and that's why she told him. I think there might have been a point in the relationship where she wanted to believe that she could actually commit to someone, but in the end she was just running away from herself - and she realized that which is why she let him go. As far as more depth to her character, I just don't think there was any more depth to her character other than that. She wanted to be a rock and roll star and was a good friend - that's about it.

Nop, she loved him, and she also loved non romantically the members of the band, she just DIDN’T wanted to have kids, that doesn’t make her a bad woman, she wanted to focus on her life and thats great, she lied to Graham cause she loved him deeply and didn’t wanted him to not have his dream of having kids being real, so she let him go, so he could fullfill his dreams

I don't think the romantic type of love is special. And I am started to think that the romantic type of love isn't real. I mean about more than half of romantic couples either break up with each other or divorce each other, while most platonic best friends remain friends until death.
I think that having a platonic best friend is a lot better than having a romantic partner or spouse is. Having someone who's like a sibling to you is a lot better than having a romantic partner or spouse. Also, you are more likely to be much more closer to someone who's like a brother or sister to you than you would be with a romantic partner or spouse.
People tend to fight with their partner or spouse a lot more than they do with a platonic best friend, and you never fight with your best friend the way you fight with your partner or spouse. Partners and spouses are just temporary. If you break up or divorce them, it's hard to go back to them. With your platonic best friend, you're going to make things work, because they are your best friend, they are your go to partner. It's always easier to make amends with them than it is with a romantic partner or spouse.

I would like to point out that these are your observations. Not evidence based facts. And if there is evidence, please share it.
I think you may be hurt, or you may have let jealousy and loneliness eat at your heart. I am familiar with the feeling of longing for a relationship but never getting close to it. It hurts to never get close to something you deeply desire. But I assure you there is healing.
If you talk to the people around you and people online you will see that often times people do not drastically prefer their best friend over their spouse or the other way around. Like I said, both are important. Both take the same necessary relationship skills. If you have healthy platonic relationships, you are likely to have healthy romantic relationships, and vice versa.
There is one thing we may agree on. That platonic relationships should probably be a part of everyone's life, but not everyone has to have romantic relationships. Although in Eastern cultures especially it may be seen as the other way around.

Yes, if I sound pissed off I am. Because I've experienced this more than once. My own fault for falling for women's bullshit. But men are visual creatures. And women are master manipulators especially when it comes to physical looks, because they are taught by everyone in society how much beauty is power. (Make-up, plastic surgery, revealing clothing like gym leggings that are literally meant to enhance private regions of the body) not being trapped by a woman's tricks is easier said than done. Not to mention men have 20 times more testosterone (which is a sex hormone) than women. End rant.

Except for Karen's case, she didn't follow the "laws of hypergamy" or whatever red pill bullshit, she never cheated or leave Graham for a higher status guy, I mean who could be more higher status than him. HE WAS A GODDAMN ROCKSTAR. She left because they both wanted different things, and she was honest about that from the start.
She quite literally tells Graham " I wanna travel and play music with my friends until I drop dead on stage," and Graham wanted to settle down, get married, and have kids. They both wanted different things, and their desires for the future were incompatible. Also Karen's a grown ass adult, she communicated her needs and wants and goals for her future and she did the most unselfish thing and let Graham go so he could pursue his own future. Granted, she lied to him and said she didn't love him but she said that because if she told the truth, Graham would've given up his own future to be with her. Karen knew in the long run, this would make him unhappy and unsatisfied and she let him go for his own good. That's fucking brave and the most loving thing u could for someone.
And whatever u wrote doesn't make sense or apply to the situation of Karen and Graham, so quote literally irrelevant 🤷

@@sahranadif3728 What gets me about her was that she initially shot Graham down, putting him in the friend zone. After which, instead of pinning for her, or holding out hope that she'd change her mind he did the healthy thing and started moving on. Met someone new. A lot of heartache and resentment was avoided - only then for Karen suddenly got jealous. A classic case of wanting what you can't have, I guess. Next thing we know she's jumping in the house - while his new girlfriend is waiting outside in the car. Things are fun for a while, until the reality of what being in a serious, committed, relationship with someone like Graham means hits her in the face with her pregnancy.
If she always knew what she did, and didn't, want for herself, then she should've stuck to her original choice to never get involved with Graham, at all.
