Ghost is definitely MJ’s best short movie. I was surprised when I found out that he was playing the white mayor. I would have never thought it was MJ if I didn’t watch the making of Ghost. I love how he could transform himself into someone else just by his acting skills. If he can make you feel that it’s not him who is playing the role then he must be a great actor. I was always impressed how he could play different characters. The fact MJ auditioned for Edward Scissor Hands is so dope. Johnny Depp did a great job in this movie but I would have loved to see MJ interpreting this role because he could easily connect himself to the character. He also wanted to play the main character in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I wish he would have started an acting.I think movie producer like Tim Burton could use his unusual look very well. I always wanted to see a movie with Mike and Chris Tucker, I have a feeling the making of the movie would have been a lot funnier than the movie itself.
Uh, Ghost is so underrated ! To be honest, I find Ghost largely superior to Thriller. Not only in terms of entertainment, but also because it has substance. Ghost is like MJ's emotional autobiography. It's an allegory of his life. Ghost didn't meet the deserved success because of MJ's tarnished image at the time, and that's really sad. I love how you talk about MJ's acting talent. Sidney Lumet did say that he was a naturally gifted actor. Just like dance and music, he just had it. Like you, I'm endlessly frustrated about the fact his acting talent has been wasted. You are right : his look AND personality made him perfect for a Tim Burton movie. Johnny Depp's performance is very good, but somehow I can't help but thinking that it would have been even better with MJ, because he was a lot closer to the character. Also, because of "Smooth Criminal", I have always dreamed about a gangster movie with MJ. Scorsese type. He was so convincing as a gangster. The idea of a "smooth" gangster, someone discrete, classy who challenges everyone with his cleverness.... with a good director, that character would have given a good movie. Finally, I'm convinced he would have been a very good villain. Like a James Bond villain, or a charming serial killer. God there's a problem with talent repartition :-) MJ had so much talent one life was not enough. He could have been a painter, a writer, a director, a stylist, a political leader.... and he would have nailed it all at the highest level. Problems us mere mortals don't have :-)

I became his fan when I was 10 years old, the first video that I watched of him was Beat It and I was as you say mesmerized by him, his vocals, his dancing... and I also had a same experience! I became a fan after his death, but at some point in life I kinda stopped listening to his music, I mean I did listen to it but not as much as before, I wasn't following anything new about him and I also thought that was it, I'm no longer a fan but I was sooo wroong! 3 or 4 years ago, I suddenly also felt an urge to search his name on UA-cam and listen to his songs, and I was once again mesmerized by him. I just started listening to him again, I found out also some things and songs that I didn't knew about before! It was so good to have him back in my life, and that what happened made me realize that he was always somewhere deep in my heart and that he'll never leave it and I'm glad he won't 💓
