this man is literally Beethoven of electronic music I mean HOW the fuck do you arrange multiple synths in a way they just sound like butter flowing into each other? its impossible. absolute genius
Its honestly really simplistic at its core, but the way its executed with regards to music theory is quite smart. He uses a lot of ping pong delay and saw wave synth wavetables, but he makes theses plucky chords grand by going into 7ths or even 9ths on occasion if I'm not mistaken. After laying down the chords he'll use for the song, he just automates filter cutoff and unison spread to give them the large feel that they have. Its quite nice! :D
This is honestly one of the greatest tracks I have ever heard in my life. Many will say that producing EDM does not take that much skill. I have tried it. It is quite hard. This song has made me sing and dance and scream in pure joy and, almost ecstasy numerous times. This song has such a beautiful, positive, and entrancing flow to it it gives me goosebumps. This song right here has put a smile on my face while I have been crying in immense pain, that's how powerful it is to me. This is beautiful. Thank you Joel for producing this for the world.
bro, this happened for the good music, just enjoy it. I enjoy this music like you too, in that way, when the music is brilliant and make me happy. magic, wonderful, just in that moment. hugs dude :)
You'll be amazed at what you find from deadmau5. I really like Maths, Ghosts 'n' Stuff (Instrumental Mix), Strobe, Professional Griefers (Instrumental Mix), The Veldt (Instrumental Mix), Some Chords, Channel 42, Brazil and HR 8938 Cephei
+hambone h i couldn't agree more , but strobe is in a league of it's own , it's a fucking masterpiece , one of the best tracks ever made in my humble opinion :) .
This is my favorite song, hands down. its just that feeling it gives you, its euphoric, its empowering, its endless. fucking brilliant tune brilliant album
This song was my gateway drug into electronic music. I remember the first time I heard it so vividly. I was 18, a freshman in college, sitting late at night in one of the dorm common areas doing homework/studying on my laptop. I had headphones in and this song somehow came on and I was transfixed. Pure musical euphoria.
This is still my all time favourite Deadmau5 song. I can’t get enough of the way it just slowly fades into silence in much the same fashion a distant memory of spending time with old friends would gradually grow weaker and more difficult to recall. It’s bittersweet in an equally wonderful and painful way ^_^
I don't know how Joel does it but I swear, he's the only one that can make an electronic song feel timeless. Ima slow down & chill to this decades from now.
@@no4mulaAs is the Hayley version ;P All beautiful versions, it makes one wonder how many more beautiful versions could be created with Deadmau5’s original design of this song.
I was writing "Random Album Title" on a envelope which was to go to 'Brazil', but instead, for some reason I ended up 'Faxing Berlin'. After a few 'Ghosts n' Stuff', the song was 'Not Exactly' sent. I was 'Jaded'. All I have now is is a white envelope that 'I Remember' contained a bunch of songs. To my prevail, in 'October' I was finally able to send the envelope 'Outta My Life' to 'Dr. Funkenstein' to be played at 'Suckfest9001'. These 'Fn Pigs' didn't accept my album, but I did receive a note from 'Brazil' entitled "Hi Friend". Upon opening, there was some 'Contact' details and some intricate 'Maths' equations and a letter inside reading "Don't Give Me Tapes". I felt 'Bitter' considering 'This Noise' that I had made was rejected from such a company. Oh well, 'The Reward is Cheese' anyway.
This album changed my life. It inspired me to start making beats and now 10 years later I get to do it full time. Thank you Joel. I just shed a tear listening to this song again after so many years
Hearing this song for the first time was a moment for me. It was what really got me into mau5. I was listening to Random Album title and it was blowing me away and then it calmed down with the song before this... and then this came on and took me off guard. Couldn't help but nod my head and smile.
I Remember original mix, ghosts n stuff and Brazil were the first deadmau5 songs I ever heard. I'll always come back to these kind of tracks Joel has. Very smooth.
josh mallard Okay, so I explain you : a DJ is a "disc jockey", they use a turntable. But deadmau5 is just a music producer and he uses a mixer (a Xeon 4D to be precise) ... That's it :)
Once again I find myself being drawn to this incredible and flawless track. This track gives me shivers and makes me want to cry tears of love. can never get enough.
This is by far my favourite deadmau5 track and I think its very clean and it sounds more electronic than his other tracks but that isn't the only reason why I love this track. This Is The First Ever Electronic House Track I've Ever Listened To!
Phil88 for real though! Are you a part of the deadmau5 group on reddit? It’s the only reason I have a Reddit account and the group is awesome and imo the best place for mau5 fans on the internet! We just nerd out and talk everything Joel, and he still posts on there! Hope to see you there.
I dunno, putting deadmau5 that low is kinda pushin' it. Deadmau5 set the bar pretty daggone high, and Wolfgang Gartner doesn't isnt even tall enough to touch the bar.
true they have a similar style, but I havent heard songs like this from Wolfgang... maybe songs like ghost n stuff, maths sound more like wolfgang's style
Billy Gonzalez I fell Wolfgang Gartner - Illmerica is one of the greatest electro house tracks of all time. Also Wolfgang Gartner - The Way It Was is such a tune.
Alex Gærtner No. Koan Sound it skilled in a different way. They are good at wubs and quick catchy bass melodies and neat, juicy kicks (You know what I mean if you listen to KOAN). Deadmau5 has perfected the art of music in his area. He obviously isn't gonna jump into glitchhop when he's house. Saying KOAN is better at making music is equivalent to saying a COD player is better at shooting real guns than a soldier veteran. Koan sound is good, don't get me wrong, but Deadmau5 dominates EDM.

More like background music to a master of Wu Shus life.
Definitely it's :)

I wish deadmau5 made more songs like strobe and less songs like FML or the non-intro/bridge parts of Some Chords.
