I agree. I do find myself wishing she could draw a line over the approximate path of travel to get to where she is. Either way I just appreciate that she is uploading her travels and adventures including some interactions with locals.
Her taking the time to explain the rift valley as well....we would never know that. She's amazing. Noraly : you are amazing.
I have noticed that during your travels, you have chosen to stay at local resorts and hotels and have also eaten at local establishments. As someone who values the support of African businesses, I want to express my gratitude for your commitment to showcasing Africa's beauty while supporting its local economy. While I agree that is her stye I don't think you don't have much of a choice outside big population centres or tourist areas.

I assume that the alternative would be to use camper type vehicles and to take or import the food items you need with you. That wouldn't fit together well with her lonely biker tour.
The comment can also be interpreted as giving priority to the locally owned businesses, local capital, compared to foreign or international companies.

I immediately felt bad for myself and for many other Ethiopians who were watching her when I learned that she will not cover Ethiopia. Her videos really intrigue me, and since I'm a geologist, I can understand her well-informed remarks on various geological aspects. and I think her professional videography might have done honor to Ethiopia's breathtaking landscapes and abundant geological treasures. I'm hoping for brighter times ahead and that you'll come see my nation.

I hope Noraly will never stop making these wonderful videos that enrich my life. The Africa trip has been so interesting, and it is sad that it is coming to an end. I enjoy spending my 40 minutes a week in Noraly's company and hope there will be more adventures to come from this wonderful lady.

I can't get enough Itchy Boots. Who else has fallen in love with this charismatic lovely dutch traveller? Who has taken up motorcycling because they were inspired to ride by Noraly? Who else got on their bike and travelled to a different country because Noraly inspired them?
Inspired me to take up motorcycling, no, inspire me to buy a new crf300 and ride a solo 9000km trip in 2 weeks through a different country, yes. That was this springs vacation, next summer I plan to ride it to Alaska also which will be a shorter but more remote trip
@@spiffcats 🙌Them CRF300's are solid little bikes. Noraly has more than put Alaska to the test. Some of the roads she had this bike on a lot of people COULDN'T ride on safely. Noraly has skills. I'm a fan!
Although I have watched your episodes over several years riding a variety of bikes, seeing you on Alaska is always my favorite. Have really enjoyed experiences riding along with you through Africa. 💗 always.

I lived in Kenya for a few years. I always thought it would be great to motorcycle around the Rift Valley.

...loving the ad hoc tutorials on geography, geology, meteorology, geopolitics, adaptability, life, etc. But most importantly, Noraly clearly illustrates how humanity is the best currency. For me, she is easily the coolest, most chilled and most unapologetic *über-nerd* on the interweb. Yay!😎

I lived for 3 months in Mangochi, Malawi in 1990 (I was 20..) and worked in a catholic parish as a driver companion for the missionary father. What memories about daily life. Smells, habits, sounds and human relationships with locals..
A very educational experience for me 💚 😊 Malawi was one of the most quiet and peaceful place in Africa.

@@galdessa1 yeah given that her videos are like one month ahead of editing and posting, most likely she is already in Kenya at the moment experiencing these challenges. It also depends whether she arrives through Rwanda Uganda side which might take longer than straight to Tanzania into Kenya.

Welcome to my home country! I certainly did not recognise any of the back roads you used to get to the lake shore! The decorated young lads by the side of the road at 7:26 are participating in a rite of initiation (to adulthood) called Gule Wamkulu.

Very interesting to see the moving of the tectonic plates and these corresponding rifts on a larger scale, really shows how tiny we humans are and our perception of time is in comparison to this world.

I still find it amazing how far you and Alaska have been together. You have experienced breaks and mishaps together and yet you both continue to bring us new adventures!

You are such an inspiration and the way you handle every situation is humbling, On your own in unknown territories. That’s a fantastic idea. I binged watched every episode from season one. Plus some online interviews and the videos during the African wet season where she went to Spain with Charley and 3 others, India again and the rally she did. Her travels are awe inspiring.

Yes so comforting to see Noraly back on Alaska. I'm ride my 300 Rally 5-6 days a week. I cannot hit the start button without thinking of Noraly and Alaska. There may be motorcycles that are better in specific conditions, but Alaska will forever be known as one of the most versatile as a world traveler and a great fit for Noraly. That bike has soul from the time she debuted it in front of the herd of curious onlooking Holsteins. Peace!

You are so right. If we learn from the examples Noraly sets for us in every video, it can work wonders in our lives and improve health. I've put her positivity into practice in my life wherever I go and its amazing the difference it makes interacting with people. Doom, gloom, fear and worry is on the news and big media TV everyday which is why I do not fill my eyes and ears with it instead watch Noraly. Peace!

FYI: One half of Lake Malawi is in Malawi and the other half is in Tanzania (under the name Lake Nyasa). Therefore, the borderline is supposed to be right in the middle of the lake all the way from south to the north.

Africa is splitting apart through that rift valley, when it separates, one half will be called Halfrica! 😉

My father used to breed Malawi cichlids when he was younger! Those were some beautiful fish, shiny like jewels. I'm glad you could see the lake - what a place.
My favorite tropical fish were a breeding trio of Lamprilogus Brichardi. (Sp?) Regrettably, someone managed to steal all three of them. I just hope they were as loved and appreciated as when I had them! Beautiful pale blue with silver highlights, especially along their lyre tails. I still miss them, decades later. 😩❤️

I was introduced to Noraly and Itchy Boots 3 months ago and have since watched every episode. The awe and admiration I have for her and her character, abilities, and bravery is unmatched. She has inspired me to start riding again after 24 years at the age of 54. Thank you, thank you , thank you., Noraly. ❤❤
P.S. I am a barber in a busy tourist town and have shared my love of the Itchy Boots channel with as many people as possible.

You talk about fishing ,I saw some fishermen waving ,their boat engine stopped ,yep you guessed it ,they couldn't swim.
So I swam out got a rope and pulled them in ,borrowed some tools and fixed their boat motor.

I donn't think that equating Noraly with an actress is at all accurate. Noraly is everything else you mentions, a good storyteller, adventurer, videographer. None of that is acting.

I think Honda owes you a lifetime of free motorcycles and maintenance worldwide. There has never been better commercial promotion of a motorcycle since you started riding your Hondas. The only other one that comes to mind I’d “ the long way around” with Charly Boorman and the Scottish actor Ewan McGregor, and they had a slew of backup following them for technical support of their BMW GS bikes. Alaska is nowhere near that needy😎

Yes, there can't be a better promotion for Honda than Noraly's videos twice a week. But the KTM seemed to perform even better under the harsh conditions in Madagascar, and with smaller luggage burden. I would much appreciate to hear a statement about the KTM from Noraly.
The kind of performance Norally requires from a bike is much greater than someone on a Sunday afternoon jaunt would require. She rides fully loaded over the worst terrain imaginable in the worst weather possible.

Hi girl! I follow your videos. As I am highly dyslexic, I cannot drive a car or ride a motorcycle. So I dream as if I were you. Traveling to exciting places and interacting with wonderful people. Traveling mentally with you, I dream that one day we will have a single planet, without nations, without flags, without anthems, without obstacles and bureaucracy, without war and without disputes. All on a single, friendly planet. Every day I am grateful for the good people who inhabit this Earth. For you "Itchy Boots" Gratitude, gratitude, gratitude!
Interesting side note: Lake Malawi has hundreds of types of small fresh water fish that people with fish tanks around the world just love. The tropical fish industry is HUGE in Malawi.
Like many others, I happen to have a Lake Malawi cichlid swimming n a tank int the den. Too small to eat for lunch though 🙂

I'm biased, but for me, Malawi is god's own country. Having been born there and lived in many of the different parts of the country, it brings it all back what a wonderful country it is. Noraly, please, include the place names in your narrative! I think I've worked out you stayed in Nkhata Bay after Lilongwe.

I can’t believe that you are on the final leg of your journey through Africa. Den Rückflug scheinst du gut überstanden zu haben, was mich sehr freut. In den letzten vier Tagen hatte ich Gelegenheit die Live Chats von dir anzuschauen und anzuhören, welche ich in den letzten vier Jahren verpasst hatte. Dafür bin ich sehr dankbar, weil ich ein oberflächliches und voreingenommenes Bild von dir gewonnen hatte, welches ich hiermit korrigieren möchte. Es tut mir sehr leid, daß ich solche Begriffe wie Kreator und Content negativ bewerte, weil ich dabei an die dunkle Seite von Hollywood denken muss. Hoffentlich bedeutet das nicht wieder eine weltweite Verbreitung und Quarantäne Maßnahmen. 🙈
