Thanks for the ideas. My metal scoop is to heavy to carry around and the handle is to short. Few mods I'd make: Plastic mesh held on with a big zip-tie (woven in and out of the scoop if needed to make it tight enough. That way I can scan the scoop with my detector before shaking the sand out.
Nice drill for make holes in plástic. Here, in Brazil, I don't see this "drill device". You will can show details of this drill??? Thank you. Greetings from Brazil. (sorry for my bad english...)
Subbed and liked.

EXCELLENT! nice and effective design.
Very cool love folks who think outside the box
Great custom scoop. I use Stainless Steel Beach Sand Scoop Indiana.
half inch nesh is just right.
job well done m8
Great scoop. Subscribed and liked :)
Cheapest place for that bit is Harborfreight Tools, 3 for 7 -12 dollars depending on the sale.
Great job :) solo le falto meterle una puntera metalica en el borde principal para que sea mejor su cavado en la tierra

very cool! I was just watching someone who had something similar, was asking him how he made his and find your video, nice work!
How did the pvc handle work out? It seems like it wouldn't last too long or flex too much.
haven't tried it yet I'm thinking of using a larger mesh, and head to gismo beach.
The drill bit is called a "multi bit" or "step bit"
You can drill different size holes with it,
And the drill is just a 18 volt cordless dewalt
Ciao , complimenti ottimo lavoro , bravo :-)
10 out er 10 naught wrong with that mate
half inch nesh is just right.
Cute idea, except it makes it difficult to see what could be in there, and difficult to pick it out.
It's called a step bit, or multi bit, thanks
The bit is also called a unibit
Yes I realized that after first use thanks
Ciao , io provato a costruire un Sand Scoop in plastica PVC , funziona molto bene molto leggero , speso poco :-)
You use it on sand not dirt
