Adam, I have to tell you that you've been a very important person in my life, virtually speaking. I've been watching your videos since COVID times, where many shitty things happened in my life. But I've always been able to watch your videos, and enjoy your humor, your respect for nature, your awesome photography, your ability to help others. We're about the same age, and in some way, I see us as having parallel journeys. So anyway, my deepest respect, best wishes, and thank you. very much.
So glad to hear. In many ways UA-cam has helped me as well. There are times when I'm not inspired or keen to go out but making videos forces me to go out and 99% of the time I am so glad that I did, so it works both ways. Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.
Smashing video! haha I do always forget things at home too, happens to the best of us. You overcame the challenge so well and shot some really lovely images. Cheers
I always really enjoy your videos mate. You're such a boss in the forests and your years of experience really show. I do love the image with the compressed trees, such a cool effect.
Nicely reminiscent of the old videos Adam, with the drone work. You used to do some fantastic introductions to videos like that. Great image of the trees framing the slender waterfall. Thank you. Stay safe.
I'm a fan of compressed images. Being from Northeast Texas, where a wide landscape is rare... shooting compressed images to find interesting subjects, is the norm. Loved this video.
I love stacked tree trunk shots, they're fun to spot and don't really require a lot of finesse.. either it's there or it's not. Plus it justifies lugging the long lens.
It‘s a fine case of „taking what you have got!“ Thank you very much for this one, Adam. Beautiful images with the long lenses, indeed. I mistly like the ones with the 4 different trees combined. Kind regards, Martin
Adam’s new mantra…Check my bag….Check my bag….Check my bag 😂 On the plus side loving the inclusion of drone footage again. I think it really adds to the vlogs 🙂 You could’ve used the wideangle lens on the drone for a photo or two. Amazes me the quality of such small sensors these days.
Your hats are great, I have one in that style from the first round, which I wear a lot. In fact it came to Africa with me for three months and pretty much stayed on my head at all times when I wasn't sleeping or showering. It still looks new!
An accidental one-lens challenge! It'll be much funnier a few years from now ;-) I love the drone work through the trees. Nice images! When I saw the pencil-thin waterfall, I actually pictured a portrait image in my mind. I like what you captured at @ 10:55. Thanks for taking us along, cheers!
Thank you once again for taking us with you. What happened to the motive at 10:50? I liked the one you showed us from the camera, but it was a slightly different angel you showed for the final image (at 10:50). I must admit I liked the previewed image better with the small waterfall to the bottom right. Thank you. Best, Jon
Very nice Adam. Sometimes we have to improvise. I've left valuable equipment at home before. Night lens when shooting The milky way, tripod and card reader when I went to Paris. Yeah, we make due when we have to. 😁 I think makes us better photographers. Lovely images!!
Mr. Gibbs, Thank you for years of outstanding photography videos. I am visiting Vancouver Island for six weeks this coming fall. Usually, my routine is early morning, mid-day rest, or forest shots, then evening. I am a little worried about bears, especially walking in the woods at dusk and dawn. As a native of the area, how are the Bears?
I know using a drone in the forest is a pain, but always looks great when you do it Adam! Nice photos as well - I'm headed to the island from Vancouver WA this month and will have to add this on the itinerary. Quick question on van camping: What is the policy on free camping in the parks in pull outs or along the logging roads? Here in the U.S. BLM land is always free - just find a spot and you are good to go.
In any park you will have to pay for camping. Public land you can park up pretty much anywhere you want as ong as its not a private logging road. I've never been asked to move. have a great trip!
Dear Adam, Holly Brian, I am used to this kind of missed note (our age or wisdom? ;): to “forget” a key lens (recently my Fuji 16mm 24eq f1.4, perfect for Milky Way in Tuscany…) and being aware of my “mis-take” when on location, far from Home… usually a source of creativity, like yours (stunning composition with the texture of these two trees: to give a chance to b&w editing?). Just let it go & move forward. Looking forward to seeing your compositions under constraints the day after…
Good challenge, for sure! I camped in Tofino one weekend, to get up at 3 A.M. to get the Milky Way over the ocean- then discovered later that I had my polarizer on my lens the whole time! 😫
You're being far too laid back, (unhappy?)...obviously, there was not enough Scottish 'ditchwater' available, hahahaha. Thanks lads. I bought one of your hats mate, I'm still paying off the bank loan I needed to pay for the postage! I thought Canada & the Uk were supposed to be friends hahahaha
I'd like to know dark magic you employed to keep the smoke off you AND the camera. In my experience the smoke would follow you no matter where you sat. :)

Ditto 👍

That 'limitation' worked a treat with those first photos. Solved the log problem nicely.
Sunday mornings with Adam...pretty fine. Great modeling for using what you've got...no excuses. Nice results. Thanks!

So true about the lugging around part, haha

Great thoughts Adam, as always!

I inadvertently processed the wrong image.

Nice work! LOL
“Out of Darkness”, Alister Benn.
Left your lenses at home! Now I don't feel so bad. LOL
My husband keeps telling me do a checklist and check it before you go! But it still fails me to check! ☹️🤣
Having to be creative by accident can turn out to be a good thing! Though I think you should give Brian a hat for messing with his day!
Hold up Adam, no more FLM tripods now? Kingjoy giving you much joy i see!
Just trying kingjoy out
Why did you change the first waterfall composition between you framing it up and the raw files?
You noticed! haha yeah bit of an oversight on my part. I changed my composition slightly and prefered the altered version.
Those look like the two feet of a Tyrannosaurus Rex on the left at 13:25. Maybe next time!
Nice work - why not make a mini series and go out on purpose with „only the wrong lense“ ?
Sometimes I will go with just a telephoto lens to force me to look at content differently 🙂
If you don’t bring all the lens you have room for a sandwich and a beer in the bag

Did you switch tripods? I thought you had the FLM.
I do, great tripods. Im testing out some KingJoy tripods
You should call the first shot He ain’t heavy, He’s my brother..😊

Magic fire by Brian.
