My grandfather passed away when I was 2 years old. The only thing left of him, is a Zenith Defy 1976 that he wore EVERYDAY. It was gifted to me on my 18th birthday and it's the most worn watch in my collection and nowadays the most respected one. This watch is the reason I am fascinated by mechanical timepieces throughout my life. Zenith in my opinion is the luxury watch brand for the true enthusiasts, that wear a watch as a companion to themselves, not for the others.
For me, the Zenith El Primero Chronomaster Original is the exemplar for the automatic chronograph. The reduced thickness of 12.7 mm, the vertical clutch mechanism with 1/10th of a second sweep, and the multi-colored dials on the white background. . .YESSSS. Hope for it one day.
The opening of this video is inspired by the latest "You're Terrific" video! He set up his table to the beat, and I thought "hmmm I gotta try that!". So please give me 0% creative credit! 1000000% stolen from him!

Be cautious with other people’s channels that you appear on. Some of them will use anything to get views. There is a reason so many stay away from a certain watch channel. You seem genuine and truly thoughtful. Keep up the good work. You have a well produced channel that many like to watch.

I sort of felt the same about Zenith until I got a Zenith Ultra Slim and was blown away by the finish and aesthetics of this timepiece. Will definitely get another Zenith soon.
I tried this watch on, and loved it. The pictures and videos I've seen do not do it justice. Its much cooler in person. The reason I didn't get it was the price and the fact that I was set on getting another watch that day. Oh! And I was offered a small discount, so it is worth a try. 😜

I tried on the A385 Revival (Sandy coloured dial) in WOS Bond Street a while ago and wanted it so much that I didn't want it anymore. Something happened in my mind that said, 'nah, it's so gorgeous that it's too obvious.' I realise I am the mistake and not the watch. This suits you Brittany. You should definitely steal it. Good watches are better than friends.. you can always buy new friends😉👍
I think you can pull this off! Love the movement and clear design but the case looks like a new "primeroswatch" collab..hopefully in person it feels more precious than "bioceramic" :)
Stunning peace and great craftsmanship Zenith fly’s under the radar of most. You can make dark watch’s work with any outfit as long as you have a set of black Oxford’s. ✌🏼
Regarding water resistance, I like definitely knowing that if I clean my watch & run it under water, or swim with it on, it’s not going to let any water in. 100m - I’m not worried about it!

Funny thing is, I walk out the patio door from my living room, go down the 5 steps and walk right into a lovely swimming pool that I have not be in for 5 years!!! I really like this watch. I have to agree that being sans date is a big improvement. That dial is nigh on Goldilocks for content, not too much and not too little. As you say it certainly isn't within the reach of many at this price point but the same could be said for many time pieces. Although I currently do not have a Zenith I certainly appreciate them.

I think that Zenith is more and more in contention as opposed to Rolex and Omega because of smaller and more interesting case shapes combined with the El Primero movement. However, as with all collectors, my socially acceptable written record is at deviance with my actual performance record. I looked seriously at the skeltonized Zenith Defy but I found it too cluttered in part due to the compactness of the movement and case. Instead, I bought a Panerai 45mm Radiomir manual wind two hander sans seconds and date.
I too have experienced Zenith’s customer care and it is amazing! The Shadow is on my list of watches to get when I win the lottery but having tried it on, the one thing I dislike about it is the pin buckle. I really think for that price it deserves a clasp.
This watch should be the Batman's watch from The Dark Knight (Rises) :D This is one of the coolest watches. The combination of black, grey and white never looked so cool ( except for the timeless Omega SMP). Great review !!

This watch reminds me of my Boldr Rally ll. Just completely different ballgame. But it has for me all the important titanium case, waterproofness, affordable Mecha-quartz movement and price for me not to worry about it.

I tried that exact watch on in the airport a few months ago. It’s really small in the flesh but not too small. It’s a real looker and I was ultra tempted although I thought it was overpriced. Good luck getting your watch back 😬 sounds a nightmare. Hopefully the cctv from somewhere can pick up something or someone noticed something suspicious 🤞🏼

I might be the only one (I certainly differ from you) but I love zenith online/YT. I lusted after the Skeletonised Defy21. I went to buy it, cash at the ready, and it just left me cold. The AD offered to take 25%-30% off RRP (£11k), but it still just wasnt for me. A bit deflated, I went round the corner to Goldsmiths and instantly fell in love with the warmth of the Tudor BB Chrono S&G - bought it a month later and never looked back. The joy of this hobby, eh?! We're all different. Also, Brit, sorry to hear about the FPJ. Watch Papi seems such a nice guy (I know you wont disagree on that front), so somehow it's even worse that it happened to him. I know the listing feelings of theft, it's not just a monetary thing, so hope you and James are too affected by it.

I got mowed down in the street a few years back at a crossing (weirdly, no injuries) and I remember I jumped out of my skin every time the crossing man was on green but a car would come up to the line quick. Oh I like this case it's my speed is so under the radar it's so stealthy it's light so that makes it better in my eyes. I adore light watches not a huge fan of super heavy watches that always remind me that they are on my wrist. I like going about my day knowing it's their with out having it weigh me down, I have enough things weighing me down, I don't need a watch letting me know it's their it keeps me from babying the watch and let me enjoy for what it is. A Plus is that it is as dark and gray as my heart. Never would have ever thought to ever see it on your channel.

Oh hey, a Zenith review! I was contemplating getting this watch, and the Open-Heart model from Zenith... Until I saw the Zenith Bullit. I just gunned for that watch and it's on my wrist ever since. A window at the front to see the escapement works, and the big date reminiscent of Lange/GO Panomatic... Though definitely on the chonky side at 45mm, but it's my kind of chonk. Who knows, if you can get your hands on one, you can be the 3rd person to be talking about it on YT 😂
Your fair complexion makes this graphite grey titanium case really stand out on your wrist. But £7500 is way too much money. Wonder how much this watch depreciates once it leaves the AD.

Honestly. We are sooo gutted. :( I'm making a video early this week sharing a bit more about what happened and how we are holding up. The only phrase I can think of is.... gutted. :( It's just a watch I've wanted for soo long! The years of waiting, and then the excitement of getting the call! The MOOOONEY. all of it just gone. The bitchin Zenith’s for me are the Defy21s. But. The price man… north of ten and upwards. And they only have a short warranty. All a bit offputting. Did I mention the poo soft secondary element?

Zenith has never been a brand that I gave too much thought, until I saw a Captain Chrono in person. It was the Rose Gold model and not in the budget, but the stainless steel version is a possibility. Anyway, this watch reminds me of the Tudor Black Shields, and as much of a Tudor fanboy that I am, I really do not like either. Great Sith reference too. Long the Cults.

I didn’t find there to be sharp edges on the lugs! The watch itself is an absolute treat!!! I just didn’t love the cordovan strap! 🙈 that seemed to give me more trouble! But I think it’s just new and really stiff!
Great review! I have considered a Zenith in the past. I don’t know why but they’re seen as a watch for when you’re in your 50s. But then how often do I use the chronographs on the watches I already have? I find a dive bezel more useful tbh. And yeah, you will get a _good_ discount on them because they don’t move. This watch reminds me of my Boldr Rally ll. Just completely different ballgame. But it has for me all the important titanium case, waterproofness, affordable Mecha-quartz movement and price for me not to worry about it.
Awesome watch, but don't like the strap. Would try it on a Nato I think. And the big plus for this one is that it doesn't have a 4.30 date window.
I think I should have tried it on a Nato too!! Maybe I'll give it a swap when I get home! ;)

I'm a massive fan of this watch but the 5Hz chronograph seems a bit wasted on a watch that has time marked in 5 or 10 second increments 🤷♂️
I tried that exact watch on in the airport a few months ago. It’s really small in the flesh but not too small. It’s a real looker and I was ultra tempted although I thought it was overpriced. Good luck getting your watch back 😬 sounds a nightmare. Hopefully the cctv from somewhere can pick up something or someone noticed something suspicious 🤞🏼

I might be the only one (I certainly differ from you) but I love zenith online/YT. I lusted after the Skeletonised Defy21.
I went to buy it, cash at the ready, and it just left me cold. The AD offered to take 25%-30% off RRP (£11k), but it still just wasnt for me. A bit deflated, I went round the corner to Goldsmiths and instantly fell in love with the warmth of the Tudor BB Chrono S&G - bought it a month later and never looked back. The joy of this hobby, eh?! We're all different.
Also, Brit, sorry to hear about the FPJ. Watch Papi seems such a nice guy (I know you wont disagree on that front), so somehow it's even worse that it happened to him. I know the listing feelings of theft, it's not just a monetary thing, so hope you and James are too affected by it.
You're definitely not the only one! And I've even had that with a Patek watch, oyu know! Sometimes... It just doesn't speak to you the way you thought it would!

I got mowed down in the street a few years back at a crossing (weirdly, no injuries) and I remember I jumped out of my skin every time the crossing man was on green but a car would come up to the line quick. It was a year before I shook that feeling

Oh I like this case it's my speed is so under the radar it's so stealthy it's light so that makes it better in my eyes. I adore light watches not a huge fan of super heavy watches that always remind me that they are on my wrist. I like going about my day knowing it's their with out having it weigh me down, I have enough things weighing me down, I don't need a watch letting me know it's their it keeps me from babying the watch and let me enjoy for what it is. A Plus is that it is as dark and gray as my heart. Never would have ever thought to ever see it on your channel.

Oh hey, a Zenith review! I was contemplating getting this watch, and the Open-Heart model from Zenith... Until I saw the Zenith Bullit. I just gunned for that watch and it's on my wrist ever since. A window at the front to see the escapement works, and the big date reminiscent of Lange/GO Panomatic... Though definitely on the chonky side at 45mm, but it's my kind of chonk.
Who knows, if you can get your hands on one, you can be the 3rd person to be talking about it on YT 😂
Your fair complexion makes this graphite grey titanium case really stand out on your wrist. But £7500 is way too much money. Wonder how much this watch depreciates once it leaves the AD.

I do love the Zenith but with so many great chronos out there it will have to wait a bit longer to make it into my collection.

I have an El Primero HW chrono with a cream face and Arabic numerals. It is one of my favorite dress watches. I love that Shadow on you (Darth Vader hilar)!! Love the style of your reviews.

The bitchin Zenith’s for me are the Defy21s. But. The price man… north of ten and upwards. And they only have a short warranty. All a bit offputting. Did I mention the poo soft secondary element?
I also really want a titanium watch for the lightness. Leaning toward Hamilton but just haven't quite settled. I think this Zenith in Sith Lord Black is sexy and my style... but $7.5K?

Gringa! You know I had a dream of being a clavicle model myself... Great review. Even though it is a watch that I am not interested in, still adding to the watch knowledge, with you making learning a "brit" fun. Zenith has never been a brand that I gave too much thought, until I saw a Captain Chrono in person. It was the Rose Gold model and not in the budget, but the stainless steel version is a possibility. Anyway, this watch reminds me of the Tudor Black Shields, and as much of a Tudor fanboy that I am, I really do not like either. Great Sith reference too. Long the Cults.
Man, I'm just not a fan of tonneau cases (although i just picked up the green automatic PRX but the integrated bracelet makes that a different aesthetic). I'm kind of with you where I have no end of respect for Zenith, but their design language just doesn't really do it for me.

Amazing watch , loved the bloc May colors , great ! Is it just me watching the video overthinking the sharp edge on the lugs ??? Is it by any means uncomfortable to wear ?
I didn’t find there to be sharp edges on the lugs! The watch itself is an absolute treat!!! I just didn’t love the cordovan strap! 🙈 that seemed to give me more trouble! But I think it’s just new and really stiff!

But then how often do I use the chronographs on the watches I already have? I find a dive bezel more useful tbh.
