Greetings Stefan. - Hmm interesting machine, looks a bit lethal with those "blades" uncovered when travelling along a road. I would have thought spraying would have been just as effective, if not better, as surely if this 'caterpillar' thrives on Maize what is there to stop it moving on to another field that is freshly growing. Cheers Chris.
Hey Chris, you know, here in germany we got for everything laws, so it is better you do it that way than maybe use the wrog stuff against that parasite...a farmers job here becomes more and more like a laboratory technician...how much slurry with which ingredients can I apply when and in what quantity and it's the same with poison and fertilizers, if not much more worse. Greets Stefan
@@landtechnikmv-agriculturalvide Greetings Stefan - Yes I know what you mean about 'bug killer'. Whatever you use upsets the "Nature Lovers" you never get it right, if you fertilize 'naturally' with slurry they complain about the smell, if you use artificial fertilizer they argue it will get into the streams and poison everybody. You can never win nowadays, - too many 'pen pushers' (as we call them) only too quick to think up a new law to create more problems for the poor old farmers. Give me back the 'Old Days' people didn't complain in those days, - and to my mind life was better then. Cheers Chris.
It seems as if the political side wants to drive agriculture against the wall, for whatever reason. I really enjoy watching videos from the sixties to eighties, that was my childhood and also the time when I worked for a farmer ... and yes, everything was better then.
@@landtechnikmv-agriculturalvide - Funny that's more or less my period too. My first wife's grand-father was a farmer - really enjoyed those times. If she hadn't had a colossal row with her grand-mother, - (never did find out what it was about), - he was going to give us the farm and retire. As long as he could come up the odd day or so and just do the odd job here and their. Bit of hay making, help with the harvest, some cherry picking all those sort of things. - Just as long as my wife would apologise to his wife about the row then everything would be fine - mine would not at all - he didn't want me to apologize, both of them were perfectly ok with me - it was my wife, and she would not say sorry at all. ..... So I lost what would have been the dream of my life, - 9 months later we divorced.
Born 65, at the age of 4, 5 till 7 from spring early in the morning, put on the bathrobe and rubber boots and look out for tractors until grandma called for breakfast and then watching again. Our house stood in the middle of fields, with 8 facing the farmer and when I was nine I drove a tractor for the first time, then I was allowed to go into the fields alone, cultivating and rolling, the older I got, the more I was allowed. After that, other things became more important, motorcycles, cars and women, but I never lost touch with agriculture and that is probably the only thing that has accompanied me steadily since my childhood, everything else was exchanged, sold, or you are just glad that it is gone ;)).
