Deezel Kane - knew him, saw him. Not hating. Chris was a amazing BBer and a good guy. I was in Golds back when he was coming up. He was strong too 415 incline bench for 12 reps with no spotter! Wasn’t a thing. Hope he’s good now.

I worked out at golds in Henderson NV. I saw Chris do set then go to his car. Do a set then go to his car. Steroids was the easiest drug these guys did. They are all druggies. Sorry IMO
I remember having a magazine that featured both Chris and Craig who were working together at the time. Craig was the bad boy so I thought he was the coolest back then.

Ameen is right about Craig and the type of person he was. I knew Craig then, he trained at Golds at Sahara & Decatur sometimes. Was a sad situation. When Craig moved to Vegas he was edgy but not hopped up on oxy’s, the longer he lived in Vegas the drug use and ppl he was rolling with got worse and worse.
Edit: Kelly went to Walmart and bought camping gas and lighters at 3am. they put the body in a Jaguar out in the desert and lit it on fire in a attempt to destroy the evidence.
You should keep doing these Dave. At least one or two per month. The stories are very entertaining. I really like Ameen!
Sound Factory 1999 to the day it closed (2004?) was legendary. I wasn't around to experience Studio 54 but I'm sure they were comparable. I met King there as well as Victor. Rob Lopez was a SF legend. Great guys to party with. Saw Dorian one night. Biggest drug grubber I ever met. I'd give me left pinkie to go back in time for one more party there. Had Victor tell me " nice build bro..then had me turn... bro you gotta bring up your rear delts..".. I was devastated for the rest of the night! Leave it to Victor Martinez to fuck up my high.

Don Long: NPC Light-heavyweight (1992) and Heavyweight (1993 to 1995). Frequent top 10 IFBB pro from 1996 to 1999. Suffered kidney failure in 1999, age 34. Received a kidney transplant in 2002, which failed in 2003. Competed in several IFBB shows from 2006-2009. Received another kidney transplant in 2011.

I dont think she overdosed. Pretty sure Craig initially lied to his friends about how she died. In the tv documentary i believe investigators determined he lost his temper about her stealing and body slammed her against the ground causing a fatal blow to the head.

Oh man...... I love these old stories. I grew up in South Africa and I always herd rumours if these party animals. The bodybuilding crowd in S.A. also had our stories. Wish I could share some of it with you guys

He mentioned Olympus Gym in Manassas, VA. I used to work out there and I'd see Kamali quite a bit. He'd wear these one piece spandex bike shorts/tank top combo with striped bright colors. It was funny as shit.

I joined that Golds gym on Eastern when I moved to Las Vegas just because I wasn't going to pay cover charges or stand in line to get into clubs. A lot of the Doormen worked out there. I got to know them so I could get in the clubs. I saw Titus, Cormier, Cutler all the time. All pretty cool dudes . Don't bother them they didn't bother anyone . Great for motivation. IMO

I've known a lot of recreational drug users and the story of Melissa James death sounds exactly what I would expect those types of people to do. That's why I keep well away from them most of the time.
Man I love these videos Dave. Reminds me of the St.Louis,Mo. powerhouse days that Tom Hobbs and Vivian Carbone Bobbs owned back in the 90’s . The best gym I’ve ever trained at still to this day. Guys walking around the gym with fanny packs on full of real gear. . Not some underground lab shit. You didn’t even need to ask for a spot. Guys would just jump in and yell “Let’s go man you got this!” There’s no gym etiquette these days not like back then. Everybody is so self absorbed now. Man I miss those days. Keep em coming. Love this content!
