But to me creativity and originality is about how you use moves with music, not just inventing them. To me Meech and Alex are far more creative because they constantly invent new ways of using basic moves. Paradox has the best movement I've ever seen but eye candy gets old quick.

Alex starts using a move and uses it in 6 different ways in succession, then uses another move and squeezes the hell out of it and so on. He's a master at that, specifically. But in my particular opinion, it's kinda boring, as elaborate and complex it is. I guess I wouldn't say the same if stamina was a crucial factor and I wanted to just outlast the rest of the competition in an event like this.
Alex is one of the best dancers,, he has unique style, fresh, slow, no sweat, who interprets sounds with rythm. Paradox is humble an talented. My respect for both of them.

On another note, Alex & his movements look altogether different w/out his faux hair. Perhaps those strands make a difference in his performance & its outcome, although he brought the heat & the funk in 2nd round @ 2:45. This entire battle was simply amazing! Yes he would play off of his dreads swinging with the beat sometimes. They had an allure to him and if you notice his sunglasses would not stay on for a lot of the crazy movement he does when he goes into that mode

Alex could do the same dances in the 80’s and it wouldnt be out of place. He is really good, but it is the most classic “hip-hop” style dancing, even the way he turns his head to look at his opponent. It’s like something out of a movie.
Great battle. I've never been a fan of Alex's style but he is very good at his craft. I especially like the start to R2 where he immediately takes back some momentum. With that said, no one was beating Paradox in this battle.

I dont think alex the cage factored in that his dreadlocks helped him keep his sunglasses in places when he went into that mode i believed his round was hindered once he realizes this and he had to fall back on his movement so his glasses won't fly off ruining the gimmick. It's the SDF format. 3 dancers each choose a judge to battle. The winners then go into the semi-finals where 2 of the winners battle while the 3rd winner gets to bring back somebody from one of the previous rounds. The winners of the semi-finals then meet in the finals. John describes it this way "In this competition the judges aren't allowed to simply sit around. They have to battle and show what they're made of too"

Alex went hard in the 3rd round but it was a weak battle from him. Idk he's been in a weird place stylewise since 2020. His groove and foundation are better than ever but he completely lost that unpredictability factor especially when he goes low. His ground moves used to be original, now they're simplified and overdone. I mean he did this 3:23 sequence in like every event in last 2 years. Until 2020 when he went to the ground you never knew what he would do, now it's the same few sequences that feel less and less like freestyle each time I see them and more like old Zyko transitions, except less visually impressive If we're talking GOATs thats the diff between him and icee to me. Icee had a style that he sticked to and mastered. But alex since like 2011 has been transitioning from one style to another. His 2011,2013,2015,2017,2019 and now 2022 battles are all different from each other. Different weaknesses, different strengths. I hope he eventually settles on one style and masters it because I feel like I've been watching him going from a genius round to a bad one since like 2013. He's still my favorite dancer, nobody in this scene has reached the highs that he has, except maybe meech and icee. It's just that he's never been consistent.
We all need an update / development in our style. And basically that's waht he is doing like if you see his last year's battle videos of SDF like 2019 he has been giving rounds like hell. And it gets updated. So different music gives different feel to everybody and there's a different way of moving as an individual mind and body.

Alex didn’t come close to paradox. He kills his momentum in his style 50% of the time and looks sloppy next to paradox. Almost 0 creativity points to Alex. He did well musically and flow but all his moves are old school and don’t have anywhere near the same difficulty nor uniqueness as parodox’s sets. Jesus. And he thought he won. Alex is def good or was good for his time. But anyone would’ve been able to see paradox won by a blowout.

Alex is one of the most humble and respectful dancers in the game, he’s a judge at SDF this time and Paradox and Alex have been good friends for over a decade. Alex didn’t come close to paradox. He kills his momentum in his style 50% of the time and looks sloppy next to paradox. Almost 0 creativity points to Alex. He did well musically and flow but all his moves are old school and don’t have anywhere near the same difficulty nor uniqueness as parodox’s sets. Jesus. And he thought he won. Alex is def good or was good for his time. But anyone would’ve been able to see paradox won by a blowout.

Anyone that thinks Alex was trying to win here I’d tripping lol. Alex is one of the most humble and respectful dancers in the game, he’s a judge at SDF this time and Paradox and Alex have been good friends for over a decade.
There’s no way Alex Is dancing to take Paradox’s first SDF win after he returned from a potentially career ending health issue.
Hope there’s guys are both competing in the same tourney against each other in the future.
