Hello, can I ask you what are the best systems, should I buy an Arduino or an OSH CNC, or the one you have?
Same question.
I want to buy a workbee but I have no idea about the electronics.
If you find something helpful please don't forget to share it with me here.
@I'll Do It Myself, what do you have the dip switches set to on the TB6600-4.0 drivers that were included in the kit?
for lead screw driven CNC machines, such as the workbee and lead CNC,a setting of 3 microsteps and 3a is a common setting -on-off-off-off-on-off
I built this exact CNC. It stopped working after 1 day of use. It now asks me to choose a bin file for the NVUM. I can't get a reply from bulkman3d of Novosun so I am reaching out to you as you seem to have contact with them. Do you know where I can get the .bin file for the NVUM V2 controller? The link on Novosun site is not active.
I could not get my cnc to work at all. I even bought extra arduino and stepper motor. I finally bought a Black Box and still no luck. Should i use Easel or Openbuilds software? Getting desperate. Any info would really help!!!!!
Ernie, I highly recommend getting on the facebook group, there are so many people including my self willing to help others out. CNC Router Workbee from China facebook.com/groups/359094998355707/
I am debating between an ethernet or USB controller? What are your thoughts? is this the 1515 model?
I'm running the 1010 here however the 1515 is the same, just longer extrusions. I have heard good things about the ethernet although I haven't had one to test. The USB has be functioning perfectly for me.
Hi thank you so much for these videos! May I ask what at position is the plastic screw on the 24v power supply that adjusts the current? Thank you.
Ps: Also my stepper motors are very loud when not moving, they make the same amount of volume when moving under load and when stopped, do you think this is because I have not grounded the shielded cables?
Thanks for this tuto .
I made the 1515 CNC .
I get some problems with the controller. I wired exactly as you said . It work for a day and now I loose the connection. I open the controller and the D4 diode breakdown. Do you know where the problem came from ?
Hi these are great videos, i am completely new to cnc and want to purchase one of theses machines. I feel confident with the mechanical build but am lost on the electronics choices. I'm considering arduino nano and wonder why you chose the ones you have. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
I have seen some builds on UA-cam, where they are using 1 power supply for each of the stepper motors. Is that possible with this CNC, and also, do you think it is overkill???
Great resource, I have been having a time trying to figure this out on my own. What resources do you have for MACH 3 configurations?
I have a few that are great but due to the NVUM controller being USB a bunch of the normal setup does not apply. I'm working in a video explaining the setup specific to the NVUM controller now.
@@IllDoItMyself Did you get around to finishing that video? My machine is currently skipping stepps and i think its due to the nvum controller setup i know nothing about
Did the DC and signal wires come with your kit?
I got two pieces(50cm and 100cm. Thinner, like your PSU to Controller wire) which I assume are for PSU to Controller and other for emergency stop button. And one piece of shielded single core(I think, 50cm) which Im not sure what its for.
Edit:Just rewatched unboxing. Seems you got same pieces of wire as me. What wire did you buy/use for the DC wiring, signal wiring and emergency stop. Also do you know what that piece of single core wire is for ?
I used some of the ends of the stepper motor wiring as there should be ample.
Clean build, hey what gauge of wire are you connecting the stepper drivers to the power supply
I have a Nvum v2 4AXIS Controller. And it is asking for a bin flie. Is there anyway I can fix this can you help
This should help you. Down a few pages. www.cnczone.com/forums/controller-cards/362612-cnc.html
Did you install 1 limit swith on each end of the x and y axis?
Just one on each axis and set them as home switches.
I will use soft limits from there on out.
Very good .... Did your spindle come grounded? I have seen some videos saying I need to ground the spindle ? Your thoughts on that?
Hey Stacey, yes my 4th pin came grounded in the spindle so nothing needed to be done there. I believe new stock comes grounded but I would definitely throw a multimeter on there and check.
@@IllDoItMyself Hey thank You building this is taking longer than anticipated... LOL still have to work and pay attention to my wife she is already compiling about the time I am spending g on this...lol Thank You Again!!! P.S. I put a multimeter on my spindle and was grounded Thank Heaven!!
Haha I know the feeling. I did pre warn my wife :)
Hello. Firstly let me say thankyou for the time and effort you put into this series of videos, it is a great resource. I have got to the point where I was testing the spindle through Mach3 but was unable to turn off or control the speed. I am trouble shooting and the first stop is to ground all the shielded cable. I have completed the spindle and grounded it at the VFD end to the earth. I am now looking at the stepper cables. I understand how you have captured the shield wire with a bullet connector at the driver end. What I can't see or understand is where you are then grounding to within your control board layout. Please could you help me and answer where are you grounding your stepper cables. Many thanks D
Hey yes I didn't show this in the Videos sorry. It's all grounded to a single point then that ground is to the socket itself.
I highly recommend grabbing the $4 usb dongle as it's much more accurate and easy to install.
@@IllDoItMyself Thank you for confirming. From the episode on the touch plate I thought that was what you did could just make it out from the shot of your cnc control panel. What is the small red break out board that is between your Nvem and earth star? For others reading this the series gives a great overview but it is also necessary to understand why these things are done ! I have learnt about EMI, RFI, Earth plane, earth star and earth loop due to my problem above.
@@IllDoItMyself I have one on the way but it is shipping from Far East and may take some weeks. I thought I was close to finishing the build until I had the issue of noise cancelling out the USB signal due to the VFD. I think its best practice I sort out all my grounding issues which I am working through. Is the USB to VFD less susceptible to EMI noise in your experience?
Hi, When wiring up the stepper motors which stepper motor did you make the A-Axis?Might be a silly question.... Which of the two Y-Axis was A?
I believe I did the left most on A but it 100% doesn't matter which you do as A or Y
I'll Do It Myself thanks, I thought I would have to connect the two Y-axis stepper motors together into the Y-axis port on the NVUM. You suggesting one stepper motor gets wired to Y-axis on the board and the other Y-axis stepper motor to the A-axis port on the NVUM board?
That's correct then you slave them in mach3 as seen in my video for configuring.
I'll Do It Myself awesome! Thanks buddy
