I came home Sunday afternoon and the entire family is sitting around casually watching Marling Bates. Dad's trying not to fall asleep on the couch, the 9-year-olds loudly asking everybody what their favorite fluid is, and the teenagers are discussing the unfolding paint job. What a wonderful channel, keep up the good work.
The casual BamaBass name drop lol, its so cool to see when some of your favorite creators watch each others content. The hand carved scales look sweet, excited for the next part
Been with you since before you were talking in your video's. Don't let comments get to you, just keep doing what you like and we will keep watching. Thanks
I've been following the channel now for 2 years or so and love the work. Id love to see you do a Murray Cod. Its an Australian native species, super aggressive fresh water fish which can grow over 1.2 metres (4+ft) and weigh up to 120kgs (270lbs) they have been filmed taking ducks off the water and have been known to eat wild piglets swimming across rivers.
A fun fact you missed: Asian arrowana are illegal to own in the United States. Cichlid is pronounced sick-lid You did pronounce Cuckoo right the first time and the lure is amazing. Love your content
A fun fact for you ! Did you know?! Your the only one who corrected him? Because nobody else cared enough about it to make themselves looks like an asshat to do so!
I have an avid interest in fish and the fish keeping hobby, and I get a little over excited to share the random information that I know about it. Sorry if the comment seemed rude or overly corrective, I'm bad with with that kind of thing.
I worked in the aquarium industry for a while, lots of people tried returning silver arowanas to my store because they didn't realize they got 4+ feet long as adults. Also, the ones we sold hardly ever ate pellets or floating food, and we had to substitute their diet with frozen mice like you'd feed a snake so they wouldn't search for food on the bottom of their tanks and develop droopy eyes
Boy this is fun one to watch. Took a toke every time you said Arowana, almost didn’t make it to the end. Only to find out it’s gonna be a two-part series… WooHooo!!!😂😂😂
I have the same coffee mug (Pot Head). Love your content for the past 3 years. You are the only lure maker I watch. I just wish I could afford one of your baits. They are truly works of craftsmanship!!
There has never, in all the time I've been watching this channel, a more Marling Baits episode. Just the comments to the camera, had me laughing so hard.
About 14 min in, your channel switches from baits to ASMR content. Had to watch 3 times just to get through it without falling asleep... In a good way.
Love all your videos, my favorite was when you tried to experiment with different types of wood to see the different action and then again with the different shaped lips... Really like anytime you make an insect bait too
11:10 This is what I'm here for. Can't wait for something real fun to be made. I hope its a fun shape. You make art into something that will catch fish love it.
An idea for the led eye lure is that if u take a plastic tube and wrap it in cooper wire and put a magnet through it it’s an infinite energy source and if u pair it with a batter u can charge up the batter with by shaking it . The magnet can also act like noise maker and weight adder . Just and idea love your videos cheers 🍻🍻🇨🇦
You have impeccable comedic timing! We love watching your videos here in MI. You should think about making merch for the channel like your catchphrase on a tshirt. I’m just sayin we’d buy that..
Faantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!👍 We are now at 18 exclamation points! I added a new one for the 18th time. Or 17th. Anyway next video will be the 19th exclamation points after the "Faantastic". 🤔Hope you enjoy.
Buddy.. this was one of the coolest videos I've ever watched.. you have every right to charge any amount you want.. your a damn artist with those blades.. Sometimes I feel baits are over priced but a completley hand carved bait... it's amazing.. $$$$$$$
Missing the Sunday morning regular posts, but still loving the videos and content. If someone traveled from sax Fifth Avenue uptown to the Twenty-Second street, they would be at a cross road Midway between the horse stables and the west creek, with a far better view than a busy downtown, but they now have to drive 10 times farther to check mail. The old caboose may have moved, but the maize is still around the corner. BTW, this took far longer to compose than discover!
I admire your creativity in making these lures, you are like the Bob Ross of lure designing. Have you ever thought of making submarine or torpedo shaped lures?
I would love to see a entire series on aquarium fish.. Would absolutely love to watch you make an Mbuna Cichlid and/or Peacock Cichlid lure. They have some amazing colors especially the Peacocks. Please make this a series.
When I was younger and into aquariums I bought a baby arowana that still had his egg sack for $40 and he was about 3 in. I had him for 5 or 6 years and he was 27 in and I sold him for $3,200
After all the work to build, carve and put them details in to a wooden bait have you even considered making a casting of them so you could make them out of a plastic or resin? Kind of how painter will do the master oil painting then have prints made?
I literally never thought there would be a day where I would be watching one of my favorite UA-camrs, and they would ask for a custom automotive decal direct to consumer program. I have a teeny tiny little tear in the corner of one of my eyes… But I may full on ugly cry if Marling replies here and asks for me to produce them.
Man I’ve had a heck of a week my dog got ran over and passed away on Monday and Thursday some lady ran a red light and I totaled my first and only truck (1989 Toyota pickup) I’m 16 and don’t know what insurance will pay but fingers crossed. and this really got my mind off things thank you
Hearing you talk about wanting to potentially sell decals of your logo reminded me, awhile back I sent some stickers to you (one being a custom Ofishal one). Well, over Instagram I sent the vector and original too you incase you wanted it for merch things. It's totally up to you of course. I don't really have use for it now lol
I love the fact that you mentioned bama bass’s pond. It would be cool to see you make him a bait to hang in his cabin
absolutely, spot on man!
That would be pretty cool

I love the fun facts, you always put a funny twist on something educational. Keep up the amazing work. You’re really a step above the rest
The mythic Arowana bait has finally arrived
Been with you since before you were talking in your video's. Don't let comments get to you, just keep doing what you like and we will keep watching. Thanks
"HEATER FAN IS ABOUT TO TUNR ON" was my favorite part. Love u nate
So glad he tunred off that heater fan

Cichlid is pronounced sick-lid
You did pronounce Cuckoo right the first time
and the lure is amazing. Love your content
I also ways pronounce them Chick-lids. There is an invisible "h" apparently.
A fun fact for you ! Did you know?! Your the only one who corrected him? Because nobody else cared enough about it to make themselves looks like an asshat to do so!

I'm just happy you beat me to it. Been keeping Cichlids (Sick-lids) for almost 40 years.

Yes! Looking forward to that massive baking soda and super glue build!
Love to see you do some more trout fishing!
I loved how you mentioned bamabass.
Loved the bama bass reference
You should follow this up with a peacock bass lure, also sick arrowana
I don't know about anyone else but I watch these to fall asleep I find his voice weirdly calming but he won't see this so he'll never know lol

That video was of an unprecedented scale!
There has never, in all the time I've been watching this channel, a more Marling Baits episode. Just the comments to the camera, had me laughing so hard.

i come home expecting to do homework but instead find this waiting for me. this is 200 times better keep up the good work
Making me remember architecture school, great work & keep your reel wet!
If making these videos shorter & in multiple parts means that we get more videos then I’m all for it! Keep up the awesome work bro!
I'm glad we are both fans of Bama Bass and his 5 acre pond. You should definitely go fish there in about 3 years with a Bam Bass special lure.
Love all your videos, my favorite was when you tried to experiment with different types of wood to see the different action and then again with the different shaped lips... Really like anytime you make an insect bait too
Can't wait to see it finished.
Love the chilled out vid. Always excited to see what you'll be making next.
Very satisfying to watch the carving amazing
I was having a shtty day until watching this. Thank you 🙏🏽. Love the channel
Awesome. Thanks for the new video, nate
Edit: I am much eagerly looking forward to watching Marling baiting more often!

I have missed these videos where you carve the entire bait! I am glad you made this
Reminds me over your first videos where you did talk at all and just showed the carving
You have impeccable comedic timing! We love watching your videos here in MI. You should think about making merch for the channel like your catchphrase on a tshirt. I’m just sayin we’d buy that..
Can we spell it “Won Day!’????

I'm a big fan and I have been watching your videos for several years now
Lots of details n that fine bait sir really like it so far have a good n safe rest of your week
Awesome glad to see videos still coming. Get worried when Sunday rolls around and your not there
Have you considered moving from Lead to Bismuth? It's not quite as heavy but less toxic and has a lower melting point.
you inspired me in making my own lures you‘re the best
Your carving is precise like a swiss watch. Thanks for sharing all your vids. They are excellent and i also like your funny comments.
I lke the way you leave the line when carving not to lose your focus. Nice videos-Wonderful work and patience. 10's and 2's
Your lure creations are worth EVERY $$$$$!! Can’t wait to see this one when finished!
What? I was so not expecting your video to pop up today! What a great surprise! And fun facts to boot! What a win!
All that carving would drive me nuts.. Good on ya!!
Love your vids so much! You should do a series where you buy bad baits from the store and repaint them/remake them to be perfect
I’m glad we’re all following that bama bass series
Buddy.. this was one of the coolest videos I've ever watched.. you have every right to charge any amount you want.. your a damn artist with those blades.. Sometimes I feel baits are over priced but a completley hand carved bait... it's amazing.. $$$$$$$

Damn. Springs are a brilliant idea!
A marling baits decal would be epic. Just imagining running into a fellow fan.
Love the Bamabass shoutout!
Thank you for another wonderful video. Can't wait to see the finished product.
The phenix m1 casting rod is my all time favorite
Cichlid = SICK LID. Love ya!
I love this fish man. Great detail.
I would love to see a entire series on aquarium fish.. Would absolutely love to watch you make an Mbuna Cichlid and/or Peacock Cichlid lure. They have some amazing colors especially the Peacocks. Please make this a series.
Just got my first arowana and more on an Amazon trip ❤️ nice timing
It’s nice to see you getting better every video
Nice one dude; I just know this lure will look stunning when you are finished. Looking forward to part 2!
My golden Arowana just passed yesterday. But this video still get me excited
Man those scales were clean!!!
Great camera work on the scale carving.
When I was younger and into aquariums I bought a baby arowana that still had his egg sack for $40 and he was about 3 in. I had him for 5 or 6 years and he was 27 in and I sold him for $3,200
Incredible and inspirational as always! Your videos got me into making some simple swimbaits that I have actually caught a fish or two on! Thank you
Hello from the Netherlands
Holy hand cramp batman.. Seriously that 4 hour carving ending was making my hands crap just watching it.
I could watch you carve all day
The no talking close up carving ending of this video is what i needed on this Wednesday
what is the cheapest lure I can buy from you? love the video. the spring inside the lure is cool.
Arapaima would be a great fish to model a lure after.
Along with northern snakehead.
I've seen arapima in big city aquariums. They are really cool to see. Imagine a boa constrictor with fins.
Arowana is such a beautifull fish
I would definitely rock a Marling baits decal on my back glass.
Thanks for another marlin bait's video
We also have arowanas in some rivers of Brazil, mostly near where there are arapaimas. But the wild ones here are the silver ones
They are awesome fish and this is gonna a be a awesome lure
You should make a gnarly musky lure. I would be cool to watch you make it. Also have a good night.
The drawing you drew does look like an arowana. And nice mention shout out Bamabass. Cheers.
Love the Bamabass shout out lol

I used to own an Arowana so this is pretty cool!
Yup 👌👍😎
👍😎✌
Incredible video as always
Well, Looks like it's going to be a nice bait. The scale carving was amazing and amazing, and amazing, and amazing, and amazing. for a very long tim.
Still waiting for the "Fat Thor" bait.
😉
Man I’ve had a heck of a week my dog got ran over and passed away on Monday and Thursday some lady ran a red light and I totaled my first and only truck (1989 Toyota pickup) I’m 16 and don’t know what insurance will pay but fingers crossed. and this really got my mind off things thank you
Sorry to hear my young friend. All will work out.
Regarding the fish replicas… I’d totally be in the market for one, or a half one on a nice backer. Would be a good decoration for a fishing cabin.
Amazing work! Can’t wait to see the next video! 😆🤘🏼
I asked for you to do this like 3yrs ago,fu**ing awesome!
