Amazing save, thanks for the tour JD and congrats to Captain Zealousdeal! Some facts: Min/max height that the game can technically handle is (and was in the old version) +- 2^21 tiles, so the game can handle heights up to +- 2M, in theory. However, in practice there might be issues with such extreme heights, many of them already showing up in this save (and based on this save we have actually fixed numerous issues in the Update 1). The limit that I am more worried about is the time. We store the time in ticks as 32-bit signed integer. The game runs at 10 ticks per second (1x speed) and one year is 7200 ticks. This means that the game time counter will overflow in around year 298k and after that the game will be likely unplayable. That sounded like an insane number when we started designing the game, but seeing a save with nearly 100k years passed makes me wonder if we should consider extending this. At least getting rid of the sign could extend this limit by 2x, but it might not be that easy. Anyhow, back to work on the map editor...
What staggers me about maps like this is the amount of streamlined code the game must run, and run well, just to keep track. Every one of those belt/pipe segments, trucks, resources etc.... needs to be tracked. Blows my mind!
I love it when people find the limits of the game. There is a person trying to find the edge of a minecraft map. They have been traveling in the same direction for 5+ IRL years IIRC.
This map is crazy... I think he can fit another farm in front of the dock if he got rid of the sand layer and adds one of dirt. This might let him upgrade that house
I thought I was crazy for filling in the "C" Curland and adjusting all tiles to height 2 with grass on top. Had to let the game run multiple nights. And more than once I had to reload because everything went unfixable downhill
He’s at -800 and belting out with 3 belts …. And year 92k!!! So I have to keep digging -400 and 12 belts, but I have to change my dumping when I see this
If your on update 1, you have a much larger map! Also if you dump to the edge materials will fall off the edge of the map in my testing, so you should have a easier time
I am the one person that wants to know where the limits are for most of the games that I play. This is an insane map. I wonder if he has enough time and patience to try it again with the new update. Would it be easier? Are there more tools at his disposal? Could he layout out his minimalist city and industry better? Is the current map design better suited this kind of pursuit? Could he have left some narrow driving corridors around the edge of the map, so that he could continue building? Would using unity for instant building be a better option? Can he add more solar in a few spots to avoid the worse effects of the brownouts? If you continue island tours, then it will be finding those really unique ones. Maybe some islands in the shape of letters, numbers, emojis? (Just need to have land bridges to make sure that everything remains connected.) Hopefully, the game does not crash. I hope that he keeps separate daily/nightly saves, so that he can try to recover from a collapse or a game fault. I guess that he has a UPS, just in case there is a sudden flicker with the electricity at his main residence. You would hate to lose hours of work, because of a bit of noise in the electrical signal.
Zealous here. Glad you enjoyed the tour! Yes, I am planning a new world with update 1, Bigger and Better! Many things have been learned with this playthrough, leading to adjustments to be made in the next Mega Project! o7

Zealous here. Thanks Captain Marek! I'm so happy I can contribute to bug fixing for your glorious game! Long Live Captain of Industry!! o7
@@garretthaines1750that’s not a bug, that’s a limitation.
Why not store the ticks as a 64-bit int instead?
Hats off to the hardcore Captain who made this. Thank you for sharing your save with JD. I've loved your reddit posts.
Zealous here. Thank-you for your support!! o7

spaghetti rating: ITS OVER 9000!
As a new player to this game who just started a few days ago, I am staring with pure awe and amazement! Seeing this project is truly incredible.
It's hilarious to see stuff like this. I'd never have the patience for it, but kudos to this dude.
The hole is so deep, gravity should be noticably, or at least measurably lower at the bottom.
The last time JD returned a like to me, it had obvious bite marks in it
@@Francis..... Sorry I've never visited Melbourne
Crazy looking map! You never disappoint with map showcases.

Incredible work
Thanks!
This is insanely cool!
wow that is mental, but i think my computer would fry its self trying to work with that map lol

@@JDPlays yes, mich more Space but the rock rolls more broadly when dumped.
Had it neatly with walls but that’s to much work
This looks like a good challenge for you in update 1 once the current lets play is complete on one of the larger land mass maps.
we need struts and tunnel braces so we can go underground... I don't know if that would be great for camera angles but that's another story.
That is beautiful
this is madness.
And JD just has to do this mess in U1....
I dug from + something down to -100 in Curland, and it took long enough I decided I wasn't going to dig any deeper
21:30 shadow of the map edge?
Yep that was it!

Luigi likes da Spaghetti!
imagine playing this map knowing that there are stackers in update one.... 😆
Totally insane map. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Wait did we get 40 more vehicles in update 1??
Awesome
great work, they should charge you more for the game😆
Holy moly
So how is it even possible the word 'Balrog' does not appear in the comments at least once?
It's not possible, the word appears in your comment if nowhere else.....
