- Matt Scannell is the lead singer, guitarist and songwriter for the rock band Vertical Horizon. His song "Everything You Want" reached #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 and Adult Top 40 charts and was the most played song of 2000. Matt has written with artists such as Cassadee Pope, Daniel Powter, Gary Allan and Richard Marx. Vertical Horizon's albums have sold well over two million copies, and their latest release, 2013's Echoes from the Underground, charted in the Billboard Top 200. The single, "Broken Over You," is on VerticalHorizon.com. Matt has a BA in Psychology from Georgetown University.

Matt sounds amazing live, and what a great storyteller! Love this guy! Underrated singer / songwriter!
He is amazingly talented and Vertical Horizon is a band that should be huge. I have been a huge fan ever since I heard "Everything You Want" only to discover that wasn't even his best song... I'm still waiting for the world to wake up and realize that Matt should be part of the soundtrack for their lives.

Please do not forget about Keith Kane. When he and Matt started out, they both sang lead (Matt more, but Keith had some GREAT lead songs). I miss 1992 Vertical Horizon.

Vertical Horizon´s most recent album deserved much more recognition in my opinion. It is really a great album with great songs.
