Wooow randal clark amazing solo!
holy shit!!!!!!!! so good
Nicest Looking Baritone Saxophone I've seen in 40+ Years on the Horn...hard to find those! :)
Excellent!!
I wish the credits would also include mouthpiece information as well as the horn models. Tevis has a great baritone saxophone sound, especially in a setting like this. More of just the band, Great arrangement, great solos, and a very nice feel. Loved the tune and the playing.
@Alessandro Villatoro I read the models of instruments the players were playing in the description. I was curious about the models of mouthpieces each are playing in this video. The trumpet is a Cannonball Trumpet as per the information in the description.
Randal Clarke 😍❤️ Amazing playing!! Like Eric Marenthial but very slightly darker sounding. Amazing!
How can anyone not be on their feet here?! Just gotta love it to groove it.
Wow!
Wonderfull song and nice solos! 🎶
SNAP!!! That is freakin Awesome guys!! So inspiring 🎷🎷🎷🙌🏻
Always loved playing this song.
Loved it!!!
That was amazing!
Awesome !!!
Fantastic rendition guys
Very gooooood!
Great work!
EXCELENTE!
Probably a spot on performance of what's in the sheet music, by musicians that are no doubt talented, but it sounds robotic and quantized. Where's the soul, where's the energy, where is the dirty funk stank? This tune deserves more of all of that. I feel a little from the drummer, but everyone else seems like they're phoning it in.
They lack a little......culture. that's all....
The horn section was alright, it is the feel of the bass that is lacking. Horns were good, drums were good, the bassist is just reading the lines. I felt it too, I know what you mean. The bassist has no groove at all and can't hold it down (i.e. be smooth and groovy).
Exactly it sounds stiff. It sounds like they are reading the music. But not feeling the music. It's not just the bass player. I once heard Niles Rogers talk about groups playing the songs of Chic. That him and his partner Bernard Edwards wrote and produced for their group Chic. Niles Rogers said oh that's what you thought we were playing. Niles said those bands were leaving out important ingredients of those songs . If Khalis Bayyan a.k.a. Ronald Khalis Bell who composed arranged and produced that song . He would clearly tell you all the ingredients are missing
Killer! 👍👍👍👍👍👍
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Great solo, Randall!
Super
David Sanborn on the basssss....O_o
@Alessandro Villatoro This was a joke.
Relax xD
faster!!!!!!!
They are playing it a lot slower. But no doubt they can play.
It's good, needs a little faster tempo
Agreed
Sorry guys. I've been playing this song my whole life. It's too slow and devoid of funk. Please listen to the record. Reading is fine but the life of the song was just sucked out. Way too slow. This is supposed to be a booty shaking number. Horn section is tight though.
100% spot on. thank you
BINGO!!
Agreed
Yep. I co-sign this.
I totally agree!!
Band is tight, tempo a little slow, solos were good, but you used them to forego the best horn part in the song, which should have happened at 2:19.
Oh my....they slowed it way down😮. No this does not work.
Tempo is WAY too slow! You guys are super talented, but you need to loosen up. Put some style and funk into it!
