What is the most important aspect of a handheld? The screen... is what you interact with the most What entices you to love playing a handheld more than others? The comfort... I used to have an RP3+ and I could not play more than an hour or 2. Looks like a win to the RG556... being able to delve in a game and truly enjoy yourself for hours in the comfort of those grips and that AMAZING screen is something I am willing to sacrifice performance for.
I really like the 556 over the RP4 for longer play time and streaming games. That screen is incredible and with the right settings both play lightweight switch games about the same.
Was saying on one of the other channels that i am really torn between them. Love the pockatibility and better performance of the RP4 Pro but man that Amioled Screen of the RG556 is calling my name. Can't afford either at this stage but if i could i would have a hard time choosing.
556's dpad and thumb sticks are a deal breaker immediately. Get a grip for the 4pro and your hands will thank you. The only win for the 556 is the screen, everything else cannot compare.
1st! Rp4 pro ftw! The grip makes it much more comfortable and blows the anbernic out of the water in performance. Only downside is the terrible small non Amoled screen...
Comfort wise the 556 is way more ergonomic and comfortable to hold for extended periods of time. Even with the add on grip the RP4, doesn't feel as good as the 556. Plus the offset joysticks (like a Nintendo Switch) feel better layout wise then the RP4
Until GammaOS is out for the 556 to boost the performance to where it should be (and app dev teams have had time with the hardware properly) I'd say it isn't a fair comparison yet.
I don't see either of this as an upgrade to my Odin Lite which I got for 200 a year and a half ago. The screen is bigger and even though rp4 pro has a slightly higher tier dimensity chip, in practice you can play all the same games on it.

The dpad is fine imo. Comparable to steam deck which is servicble . Oled is the deal breaker 😂
AMOLED is the dealbreaker dude lol…guarantee you it’ll be the first thing that shocks people
720p screen on the rp4 is a deal breaker. Why have more power that you can't render?
You can drop in Gullikit sticks onto the Anbernic, but you can't drop an OLED screen onto the Retroid.

I did say the 556 is my personal number one but the one I recommend to people is the RP4 pro
The retroid pocket 4 pro doesn't have grips or an AMOLED, it's LCD
Hard disagree for me. I've found the anbernic grip wayyy more comfortable. To each their own. happy gaming.

Just ordered myne RP4 with the grip hope it feel as good as people say.

gammo os wont increase performance with this chip like it did the older models

RP4 is for pocketable. Want better performance but no pocketable, get Odin 2.
@@jakesmith5278 Why does that matter? Are you trying to hide it from you teacher or something
@@PlasmaSnake369 id say i take it to work and have a small space to put it down while at work
@@henrywilliams6927 Well if you're like a crane operator or something maybe you shouldn't be gaming on the job
@@PlasmaSnake369 i game on my commute to nyc and i like to be able to just throw it on my jacket pocket!
Still bitter for the disappointing Retroid pocket 2.
I'm done with Retroid and their half-fraudulent policies.
Hmm
