Kenan always says "I did NOT" in like a very specific way that's so him. 😂
He always cracks me up. Love that dude.
i feel like the main reason that benedict did snl is to show off his southern accent lol
I am guessing and to promote multiverse of madness
@@CalebJacobs762 But more the Southern accent. Don't kid yourself.
I know ben can do a southern accent, YOU know ben can do a southern accent. Especially if you watched that dog movie. But based on this sketch alone, if this was my first time hearing him do a southern good Ol' boy, well....this was total shit. 🤣 Sorry Ben, but I only say cause I know he was just having fun. Love the actor for it. But seriously, if you've ever spent time in the south of America, you KNOW this accent is a cartoon version of southern slang. Lol
Check out "The Mauritanian" to see and hear more of his southern accent in action.
The same thought crossed my mind as well!!!!😂
I really like the pull back where we see the rest of the set. They should do that more often
I agree, good to see the audience, as well as give some shine to the production and set crew.
Looks like the view was quite obstructed for the people on top of the set.
Why did that cast member pull Cumberbatch away at the end? Were they in that much of a rush?
@@theuseraccountname They always are. There can be only a few seconds between sketches.
I like it too. I thought it was a recent thing (within the last 10 years or so) but there was a Dan Aykroyd/Belushi sketch I watched where they did that also. It brings the whole theatrical feeling of it back to the tv.
This sketch was absolutely brilliant. From the catchy "spiritual" they were singing to the performances by "Tom" and especially the "Warden".
Hmmm the warden has a good setup with his wife, Id like to see something like that with my wife.
I loved it when he pulled out the fancy tropical cocktail and the others looked at him like 'what the hell'!...lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣Ooh-wee it sure is hot 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think it's supposed to be a mint julep.
Benedict is one of my favorite hosts. He seems like he takes it seriously while also has fun with it.
One of my favorite lines from any SNL is Kenan saying 'Nope!'
Same here 🤣
They should really use it more.
I still quote Kenan "Ain't nothing gonna happen. "
Kenan can deliver a one word line and a certain facial expression to roaring laughter.
Kenan's straight man is 🔥
The warden is dedicated to his wife's happiness. That's a caring husband.
Not surprised guy who just bought a boat can't please his wife.
Will Smith is that you?
Or a cucksband
@@romanmcmillan7542 I have a real dingy
SNL keeps pumping out the good stuff . I like Heidi Gardner , very versitile . Say Hi to your Dad , David S. Pumpkins
Snitches don’t get stitches, they get rewards.
And less jail time
Snitches get eye twitches...and reduced sentences.
And, if they hold back some of their biggest scoops, a book deal.
Snitches get the bitches.
Pretty much how it goes nawadays lol
Great chemistry between all the cast in this one!
Yeah, I think the cast is finally getting into a new age.
Kenan is literally the best thing about SNL, I absolutely love every skit he's in.❤❤
Never knew until now how much I needed a remake of Cool Hand Luke starring Benedict Cumberbatch.
We certainly do. Loved that movie as a youngster seen it countless times.
The warden's wife wearing a cherry dress gives a whole new meaning to getting a "cherry pie".
I think that's kind of an old meaning for it, maybe.
@@garydryfoos7275 Its on Urban Dictionary and there is a famous song using that definition.
@@takkycat Do you think that just because it's listed in Urban Dictionary that it's *new*, and not really old slang? You might be thinking of the OED that includes reliable usage dates for its entries. I get those two confused all the time.
I was losing it when Benny pulled out that fancy drink!
Ben must of had a left over margarita from James Corden😉😉😁😁
The sketch was fun*#$&* hilarious 😂
Benedict knows how to sell it just right w/o trying too hard
Dr. Strange without his powers.
What you talking about?! Strange just got ..... musical ..?
@@ydne And without his powers.
Ha, that's clever.
LöL
Dude was a whole snitch LOL 😂😂 the chain gang songs were pretty catchy though
@Marques Johnson, indeed! Reminded me of my U.S. Army cadence while running! 🏃🏽♀️😜
Would love to have been in the writers’ room when this sketch was written.
You wouldn’t have been able to see through the smoke 💨 🚬 💨
Some of the writers will welcome you in the writers’ rooms if you bring some hard seltzer.
@@Rockoblocko man I bet those rooms must have been smoky back in the 70s-80s
This is gold!!! I love this song and everyone sings so well. I didn’t think Benny could sing!
I absolutely loved this! It’s great when they do song sketches on SNL. Had no idea Benedict Cumberbatch could sing so well.
I love how he’s just sitting there eating a pie.
“Snitchin to the Warden!” 🤣🤣🤣
Benedict got snatched at the end
Host doesn't have time to dawdle when they're on air
I love how they all know he's pulling some shit but still go along with it when he sings. 😂
I wonder if that's a real chain gang song? If not they did an amazing job writing one
That's exactly what I was thinking. That was a really excellent song before the jokes even started.
They nailed it.
Mikey Day...best he has ever done at not playing himself...almost believable!!
here for the mikey day slander
@@ruthieevans8053 someone explain
He just gets typecast as the straightman because he's so good at it, doesn't mean he isn't also versatile
@@ruthieevans8053 I got talentless sketch comedy slander on Pete Davidson too!
Excellent singing, men. This was one of the best recent skits because of the songs.
Maybe I’m just bias, but Benedict’s got a pretty good voice! And southern accent too
I'm thinking maybe his mom made it after all.
Ben has gotten so much better with his American. He stayed in roughly the same state this time! Like .. Georgia/Alabama/texarkana? He used to wander all over the whole continent.
3:48 someone yells out "oh god" lmao
This was the best episode of the season. Benedict cumberbatch was absolutely amazing in every sketch.
It's only been an hour since I watched this & it's its in a loop in my head. "Cleaning up the dishes... " as I'm cleaning up after Mother's Day brunch. Worse than that "weed gummy" joint that infiltrated my head for weeks...
Somebody please get Benedict a part in a musical!
Didn't know I needed to see Benedict wearing a half tucked shirt but my oh my he looks great!
Benedict actually looks a lot like Paul Newman in this. I love it.
Mr. Cumberlandgap is incredibly talented.
Just goes to show: Snitches get Bitches
“What the hell?” Hysterical!
Glad to see the writers came through this week.😎
Ok, these sketches are like mini sitcoms 🤣
Is this the greatest SNL sketch or what!! Benny is killing it this time😍 I really am craving to watch him in a role like this in a prison movie 😩
Is it just me or is this song fire??
Man Cumberbatch has it made in that prison
Heidi was looking and sounding hot af in this sketch
This was an exceptional skit.
Cumberbatch is great
Me: Just Put Them In The Box
Benedict: Or Maybe Just Put Them In The Box For A Couple Of Days, You Guys Know Best
Bring me back to the classic movie, Life, with Martin Lawrence and Eddie Murphy etc....
And Cool Hand Luke
I love when Benedict using an American accent in sketches
What? Sleepin with the warden’s wife?
Well, with SNL, there is always a dirty zinger in these singalongs!
SNL really be putting cast members with hosts a little way too closer, first Jason and Ego, now Benedict and Heidi.
What does this mean? I'm out of the loop
@@La-ld9mn oh they just usually spoof with this, like making the host and one of the cast members be a couple and have more more chemistry than the rest of them.
@@priyachoudhary9896 Ohh, I gotcha. Thank you!
A new classic!
Thanks for making sure the writers kept the Georgia boy experience accurate, Kenan. 😂
Benedict could eventually enter the 15-Timers Club.
Benedict is clearly having too much fun.
That’s kind of a bangin’ prison song
this reminds me of Brother o where art thou
Show of hands, how many people were gonna make multiverse of madness jokes?
Not me, but I can't speak for other versions of me.
Nope
Earth-199999 and earth-616 me
poor kyle was practically invisible this episode like he usually is :( he's so funny and versatile, why not use him more??
its giving 'of mice and men' without the main characters
with less bunnies and more cherry pies!
Thats the sound of the men working on the chain- gAng
I really like Benedict's American accent.
Is this the end credit scene from the new Doctor Strange movie?
Or am I high af right now?? 😵💫
That was great
i love kenan in this lol
The guy in the background @3:48 😂
I'm curious why Cumberbatch needed to be led by hand out of the sketch afterwards.
I think the lady just wanted to hold his hand. 😄She could have just come over and asked him to follow her instead.
Actually I think that they do this with most actors who need a quick change. But I don’t know why he can’t just follow her for at least the first few steps even without the hand. Also I am surprised actors let ppl hold their hands in this day and age of germophobia.
@@vijrever2770 One of the perks of the job, haha.
@@vijrever2770 Right. But then again, I never mind a lady holding my hand. Unless their hands are gross.
Let her be happy.
That was me 1976 chain gang, Fort Gordon Georgia. One of the convicting officers remarked to me, "We don't need any Heroes"!
working all week just to try to earn a dollar, sounds like an Alan Jackson song
Snitchin to tha warden
Let her be happy
Damn…. That was a legit skit.
Dr Strange on Earth 8913 where Wanda took all his powers.
Absolutely glorious😂😂😂😂
Me in Georgia when it’s almost July 😅
Dr Strange is just Dr Strange now...gonna be hard for him to shake the perfect role
Now you know what it takes to be on Saturday Night Live. day in - day out.
As a person who's from Georgia the warden's accent is accurate for some people from here.
I think cumberbatch should be the new cool hand luke
Lmao the random martini behind the rock..
That's a margarita.
I stand corrected, indeed that is a margarita.
Heidi looks like she had stepped right off the set of Perry Mason. That style definitely works for her.
Damn Good Sketch!!!
Sherlock locked up
Was I the only one who heard someone say "oh my God!" Off set?
A Cool Hand Luke skit!
Amazing
The Chain Gang song reminded me of the US Army Cadence that we sang to while marching and running! Well done gentlemen! 😜🏃🏽♀️ 🏃🏿♂️ 🏃🏻
Reminds me of the movie Life 🤣
I think u better lookup the history of the chain gangs in the south before u make that stupid ass comparison u just allowed ur self to reply with
that was awesome
Yay its Benefits Lumberjacks!
You can't tell me the first part of the song doesn't sound like a RHCP song.
Verrry naughty ma'am and them purrrdy
I'd really like to be the warden's wife
Damn that was really cool
Almost as good as Cool Hand Luke!
I love Bramblebush Cordelina
Where art thou? Vibes
Neil DeGrasse Kenan 😄
this was really good
Who the heck yelled out "oh god" at 3:47 ??
This is such a weird comment to post lol, I woke up to this skit Saturday night, and it was stuck in my head ever since. I had to do some serious research to find what skit it was, and finally found it. Once I watched it I loved it and I think Alex Moffat is so sexy. Never even heard of him until this skit 😂
