uuh, how hard would that be, if you already do everything, i mean the much harder part of say recognizing/picking up a plastic cup or using a vacuum cleaner, but just, seperately ? lol i mean do you really think they wanna sell "every household" a bot just to pick up glass cups, and nother to pick up plastic cups or what ? of course it'll all come together eventually. holy crap dudes...
these things are still in the womb...not even born yet & yall complaining... just wait till someone says yep thats it, give me 10k of them, exclusively, per month, man women each, looking like scarlett johansen, brad pitt, her majesty the q of e, 50 50 with/out genitals lol !
they gon do everything better then you, simultaniously.... like screwing you/your wife while solvingg a rubiks cube, be aware of your sick kids temperatur upstairs, old mothers heartrate downstairs, in contact with the fridge, heaters, security cams and robodogs around the house, & answer your e-mails online....
just be patient, and get ready for it all, mentally😎😎😎 theyll only get better, and cheaper like everything else invented

I guess my only question is- why do we simply believe that the speed, skills, lack of teleoperation, etc are real just because we're being told it is? Not saying it's not real- but who says it's any less likely that it's just pure exaggeration through editing?

I'd agree, but its not like its something they can commercialize if its not real, cos sooner or later people will need to go into a showroom and pick one! At that point 'doesn't work' or 'was a marketing scam' will be obvious. You make no money from PRETENDING you make a household utility robot.

I feel impressed by those advances in robotics. Many people believe it's fake, but knowing how AI can learn anything, I am not as sceptic.
The future where there will be those robots of many forms all around us, doing various tasks humans used to do, is just around the corner. What we see here is just the beginning, and in few years, having a robot at home will be as common as having an automatic lawnmower. Of course, it won't be globally available for all humans around the earth though.
Robotics has nonetheless a good future it seems, as a discipline. It is a hint for those in search of valuable knowledge to study. We are on the verge of something revolutionary, in few years only, I'm really on a position where I believe those AIs and robots can bring peace and prosperity to the world, maybe help those in need, so it's a necessary step in our society evolution.
House holding is not the main target for such robots, I believe we need robots able to plant trees, to do agriculture, to route water to deserted places, to repair or build houses, cities, in a responsible and eco-friendly way, to have a real impact on places where it's really needed, and to help biodiversity in a way that reverses the harmful impact we've done on climate by polluting so much. Those robots could be deployed all around the world and quickly enhance the quality of life of many people. Those robots which gather trash from nature are an example of such needed robots, imagine the job 10 of those robots, if able to automatically recharge themselves, and work day and night, can do, in a single year. It's just mind blowing.
And the fact that robots can function day and night is for me the most important to take into account and what will make them much more useful that commanding humans for doing a task that one or many robots can do faster and better, without putting humans in dangerous situations. Imagine deploying a group of robots, each specialized, into places where they can create from dust a new city, with plants, water flows, agriculture for self sustain, energy systems, houses and much more, then displace them to another place, this city could be created much faster than we think, and many people could have a place to live peacefully instead of suffering tough conditions.
This all perspective really fascinates me, and I'm glad to be alive in such a time in history, it's up to us to not empower wars, and bring peace with technology, I'm pretty sure that we can do it. I believe in us !

At an eye watering price point no doubt.
Don't get me wrong, I would have my doubts about having a robot doing tasks in my house unless it was 100% localised with no or limited internet access, but honestly, that would be the case for a robot from the US or anywhere else, otherwise, it's easy to see how having a robot in the house that has back and forth communication to the company or even the government would be a major invasion of privacy, and that's the case whether it's a US or Chinese company.
It isn't that different to A.I. models now, the more useful they become, the fewer of us that will want to use online models and would prefer to use 100% locally run models for security and privacy reasons, I expect the same will be the case for robotics if they really want a lot of us to adopt them.

What if robot used motion blending from unreal engine and used ai to run scripts or algorithms to make robot act like a human ? If everything was a motion script, if every task was a cycle of movements that the character did, such as hand movement or dancing , walking, drawing, writing ect. What if server meshing tech was used, what if servers that just store many movement cycles were stored, the robot could switch with any cycle for needed movement needed for task.

4:40 you say that the precicion for the cucumber work is impressive. Sorry, it is NOT - the robot is using a special knife for that - you find it in any kitchen, but it makes sure the slices are thin and not too deep even with a clumsy person. Not sure what you call it in english, but it is used for removing the skins of potatoes etc. and it is a dollar item. With a normal knife we could talk precision - but with this device not THAT much.

I am not sure it is the most agile and desterous robot- it is definitely the most so demonstration, but that may simply be that. And we have no idea about the 1X Neo flexibility which - according to the CEO - is already tested. Not talking Astribot down here, just pointing out some flaws in the argument. The race is on, though - and I look forward to spend some money in 2025 on a robot. It may not be as good as people expect, doing not more than vaccuming the floor or putting dishes away at the start, but as Tesla FSD has shown - once it is out, and an AI, training can result in capabilities basically weekly.
Time change. The time for human work has come - the clock is ticking. We just do not know how long the countdown is, but it is is ticking.

I agree these are very likely pre-programmed set of sequences, the video has been highly edited, they've snapshot several different environmental scenarios which they had definitely already pre staged. And as far as smoothness goes I've seen robots in production and manufacturing environments that are just as smooth, and much faster than this. If you've ever seen a surface mount robot for motherboards blows this robot away. I'm not super impressed,, yes it's nice but it's not mind blowing.

At 4:07, it's unlikely that this robot operates fully autonomous, since it labels both containers the same... but it somehow "knows" that the box on it's left has a drawer, unlocked... and pulled via that small plastic knob.
Interestingly, how was it trained to open the drawer in the proper direction (pull... not slide up/down or pulled up)...
Thus it seems to be manually operated via the camera.
