  • The 29th of August 2020 marks ten years since the broadcast of the final episode of 'Last of the Summer Wine' and as such it also marks the tenth anniversary of the first inklings of the Summer Winos project. Following the idle musings captured in this video, we have gone on to set up a blog, write hundreds of thousands of words about the series, gather together a little community of like-minded fans, produce several silly location videos, bring Jonathan "Crusher" Linsley back to Holmfirth, stage an Edinburgh Fringe show about our love of the series and take that same show on tour around the UK... it's been an odd decade.
Keep up to date with Summer Winos at www.summerwinos...

It was a very sad day for me when it ended. I watched most of them every week since the start , and still have the videos of most of them. Nice to see you two back again , keep up the good work.
Alan Bells book , From The Directors Chair , says it all. I met quite a few of the cast at a British Comedy Society do at Pinewood many years ago.
Sadly Brian Wilde wasn’t there (still sulking maybe) but everyone was really nice , especially Norman Wisdom (Billy Ingleton), who spoke to my mother like he’d known her for years. He even did a prat fall though he was in his eighties then. There’s a video on here of Bill Owen being interviewed , and I’m standing behind him with my late wife and late mother. quaffing champagne as I remember? Great programme , great memories.

To steal an episode title, It's Never Ten Years!
Seriously, It feels like yesterday the Hobbo episodes were starting. Even weirder that Peter and Frank (not to forgot Jane and Juliette, plus the two Jeans) are all gone!

Compo, Clegg and Foggy...best era. The dialogue in the first series is a bit shouty, argumentative and grating. The 70's interiors and film quality are dour too. Blamire is loud and not particularly funny compared to Foggy who only has to sit next to a stranger on a bench to generate a laugh.

Love your videos! Will you be making more? It's been a bad year, but watching LOTSW makes me smile, as do your videos that I have accidentally come across. So please make more!

@@summerwinos2341 Do you think you could do the three shows when Compo died?
