I love and admire you so much Pattie. You are a brave lady and you make me feel humbled. I love your smile and your sense of humour. You always make me laugh. You are an inspiration to us all. God bless and keep you safe always.❤❤❤
This was so comforting to see you shave your head. I haven't had cancer or chemo, but have simply lost most all my hair, and one day, I thought, to heck with it, and I cut my hair, (what I had left) all off. Now, my daughter, who has clippers and trims her husband's hair, does mind too! And I love it! I hate to admit it, but in the summer, I have been known to go to the grocery store sans wig or turban. In Houston, it can just be too hot! At my age, I have reach a point that if someone has a problem with it, it's their problem! Lol! But, guess what, nobody ever even gives a second look, and I don't think people notice things as much as we think they do! Love you!
Dear Patti, I absolutely love you, you are more than a breath of fresh air, you are simply lovely. You help cheer me up when I'm down. All I have to do is watch one of your videos & everything seems a little bit better. The fact that you also impart all your extensive knowledge about wigs, is an added bonus. We should all have a Patti in our lives. Thank you so very much. God bless always xx
I just love watching your videos, Patti! You're so upbeat and enthusuastic and you impart so much wisdom and first hand experience. Keep your tips and tricks coming.
I SO admire you Patti! I hope you live for a very long time. It is so good of you to do what you do for us. I'm glad I found you on UA-cam! A big big hug to you!
Patti you are amazing! How can we women who have lost all our hair ever thank you for sharing a part of your life that would be my nightmare to share! You are a very brave and passionate and because of you, I have finally allowed myself to accept that I must wear a wig forever but I can enjoy the benefits. I am not sick but my complete hair loss is permanent. You absolutely look gorgeous in a wig and I would never know you are wearing one. I have ordered wigs from you and eagerly look forward to your extremely helpful videos. You have created a culture of wig wearers that can turn to you for advice and encouragement. Bless you!
Thank you Patty! You are amazing! I’ve been wearing wigs for a very long time but I watch your videos because I always learn something new. You are an inspiration!
I absolutely LOVE you patti! I’m so glad I found you here on UA-cam! You are so courageous positive and inspirational! Your videos and advice have really helped! Thank you so much! ❤️
You are a delight, Patti. I learn so much from you, you are fun and give great tips. You also teach how to be confident about one's appearance at any age, any reason for wearing wigs. Thank you!
I just started watching your videos about wigs last night and I've learned more in a few hours, than I have in years from anyone else about wearing wigs. Thank you for sharing what you've learned. For us who have to wear wigs, for whatever reason, you have been so helpful and funny!
For novices and more experienced wig wearers you are really a blessing. Please write a book, it would be a godsend I should see if I can somehow afford a wig with smart lace
Thank u Patti for being so transparent. I just buzzed off my hair as all my wigs were slipping even the wig grip. I have a very low hair line in the back. Did what u did...found this video after I did it. Thank u for confirmation that these tricks help. I especially liked that u addressed the diff between how your hair is in private vs out and about. I can grow a ton of hair allover my head except in the front top. You are indeed the best!!
Patti, Thank you for being so brave and showing real issues women have and how to deal with them! I am so thankful for all these videos and tips I have learned about wearing wigs. I am soon starting chemo and have bought a few wigs, I know how to get them ready now! Thanks to you and others. I also now know how to deal with my neck hairs!!!!
I too shave the hair that grows (not much!) on my head as I found that wigs will stay more secure over stubble than my spots of hair that would grow longer. Always love your videos!
You go girl! People like you make the world go 'round. And, if it means anything, I'd buy your book. I encourage that because you have so many good things to say, and there are people out there who are looking for this information, but just simply don't have it. Writing a book would just be another....avenue(?) or way to get it to them. Yeah, you help a lot of people, much respect to you! Thank you. And, by the way, you are truly beautiful with/without the wigs. I mean that sincerely. Very pretty.
Even though I’ve been wearing wigs for 3 years now , I still like hearing your tricks and tips. Do write that book one day, I think the wig wearers would love it ! Love you, Angie💕
Awesome stuff lady! Losing the hair right now from meds and infusion treatment. Been following you before the hair loss to be prepared. THANK YOU!!! Write that book. It would sell.
These are not silly little tips if you must wear a wig and wear short ones. Patti, I shaved my neck about 3 weeks ago and have been eyeing that grayer hair at my temples. WRITE A book, you are the best and I have learned so much from you. We need a book on the learning curve of wig wearing!
I'm so glad I found your channel!!😊 You are too adorable!💓 I'm new to all this and have never worn a wig before but you make all this sound like so much of fun lol plus I find this interesting and exploring for wigs seems less stressful. Keep on doing the videos!!!! Your helping many people. Xx
Omg, after seeing it sticks on one of your videos I invested in some. Today we had the tail end of Storm Gareth and it was very blowy with big gusts. I had to go to hospital for a check up and I used the it Stays for the first time. Wow, my wig stayed secure, it didn’t move even when a really big gust almost knocked me off my feet. I felt so secure instead of frantically trying to hold my stick, my wig and my bag. Thank you Patti, you are a godsend 😘
i wish love your passion. I struggle each day with trying to live with hair loss. I talk about this so much that I am blue in the face about overcoming hair loss. I have Lupus. And the lesions in my hair line and over my body cause me to watch what i can do with my hairline. Right now, I am talking to a few youtubers about trying to find the right wig. My experience hasn't been one that I am comfortable with. So much anxiety and although I talk about it to some, I just can't seem to take it all in. I am so thankful for improving, and i just have to wrap my mind around wigs and finding the right one. Thank you for sharing this info today. I own one wig, and it doesn't fit and I can't wait to get it off. I'm in hopes one day I will find one.
Well, here's the first thing I noticed: You referred to your cancer as "my cancer," and that is EXACTLY how I refer to mine (metastatic breast). Makes me feel like we're in control of it - ha! AND ... you are SO right. I was inundated with way MORE information than I cared to know about the medical side of things and nothing on exactly what you're showing us now, the practical side of things to keep our spirits up as much as possible. :o) I've learned so much from you. Thank you! Annette
Thank you for your videos - I watch them all and learn so much. My sideburn area has always grown far down the sides of my face, and I couldn’t cover it with wigs because it would make the wigs stick out, plus not match the wig color. Finally I decided the best thing to do was to get electrolysis to remove hair that was interfering with my wigs. It worked wonderfully well. So, I decided to do that to my back hairline too. I had my husband draw a line where I wanted the hair line to stop, plus trim the hair below the line short. Tomorrow the specialist will remove those short hairs that are below the line. This will allow me to wear short pixies with no bio hair issues. Yay!
You are amazing!! Write that book because you have so much we need to learn from you. You look terrific. I love your tips and tricks. Anyone see that Reelz channel covered Farrah Fawcett autopsy? She refused chemo for cancer because she DIDNT WANT to lose her HAIR!!!! The psychologist said women gain their identity from their hair. She said women said they would rather lose breasts than HAIR. It brought the trauma all back of my years fighting the battle for my bio hair. I am so glad I found your channel full of hope!!
That would be great about a book... hope that it could a bit talk about hair tricks for men who like me had to go by chemo and radiation therapy ... My hair grew all back after a few weeks after the last chemo sessions... You are a real inspiration! Best regards from Montreal! :-)
When I first started wearing wigs, I tried to dye those bottom and side hairs the same color as the wig, but as we know that really isn't the answer. I really loved your video as that is exactly what I started doing a few years ago and it is truly the best thing. My husband doesn't wear wigs, but we take turns helping the other one trim off those back hairs. Kind of funny!
I am new to wearing a wig. I just got my Sweet Talk Gabor wig. Can I glue the front lace? I have not worn it yet. I will be trying your thinning method. Thank you for your great tips.
Hi there! Yes, we recommend using It Stays, which is a roll-on adhesive that washes off with water. You can find It Stays on our website. Here is a video of Patti explaining different types of ways to secure your wig. She features It Stays at around the 6 minute mark: ua-cam.com/video/vwp73rDA_IY/v-deo.html
patti, I have several lace front wigs. and I've had issues with the lace tearing at the area where the bonding strip meets the mono top lace of the wig. They keep pulling apart...some are like 3"..but it if get too much wider I will not be able to wear my expensive wig. How can that be fixed. The was a Jon Renau wig almost new. Please help.
Patty, can you give someone with a big head advice? I’ve tried adding elastic to the sides and that helps but I think it’s a matter of depth too. My head is 23 inches. The large wigs have not stylish or up to date.
You may want to consider having a custom wig made for you. Feel free to reach out to us and we would be happy to discuss our sizing customizations. You can call us at 800.670.3292.
your making me cry. This what I am feeling now. My hair is falling, breaking off and I picked up a wig from Craigslist. The lady ssid..poop with the wigs, she likes bald or scarves, she had it clean and showed me how to put it on. Fine, but when I was driving away that wig ..was sprinting to my crown. I ordered some Stays Put...thank you hope it arrives soon. The Orchestra I play in, just posted that Individual Pictures of each player will be taken This Saturday. They have never seen me in a wig, just this mess on my head. I am afraid to even show up...yes, I have a wig but it is s very short style and very dark brown. I was a frosted hairdresser in the 70's...We were never taught to do more than wiglets..I need fullness. and money to afford a wig that I forget my sick looking head. What is in shampoos that is bad for synthetics? Can you use Baking soda? seems, that is what they used in school. so many products, equipment, combs, brushes, sprays....Texture cream? why, when how...my head is spinning.
