Hey guys, I just wanted to say thanks for spending so much time validating the MN disc golf scene. It sometimes feels like the depth of the history of the sport in this state gets overlooked. Thanks guys.
Ironic situation because I think if there's one person to slap their leg after a missed putt, it's Hammes.
Yeah he did it a couple times during the round, but you've gotta know when you're right by another card that's also putting to be quiet and respectful. Tournament putting etiquette is definitely different when there are other cards in earshot.

Marwede is a monster on the putting green. Pair that with great commentary as well what a fantastic tournament!
He was #1 last year in c1 putting so it makes sense he's gonna grab a win or more this year when his forehand is on fire.

Was sad to see him fall apart, but seeing one of the top pros really struggle on a local course for me made me feel a little better about all my shanks out there 😂
Matty O is a control player and when the control is slightly off things go sideways.

It sounds like someone on the chase card was doing more than just slapping their leg once. I'm sure that on top of everything else that was going on, the timing was just unfortunate for whatever it was. Obviously not intentional.

If someone slaps their leg, and that is enough of a distraction for a professional player to miss a putt. They are lacking metal fortitude... wanting complete silence is asinine, and only shows you are easily put on tilt.

Who was the salty chase card player?
I was trying to figure that out too. Chase was Cale, Gavin Rathbun, Casey White, and Peter Calabrese. Cale and Peter birdied hole 15, so it had to be Casey or Gavin assuming the other two had good enough drives to not slap their leg.
I'm not sure if it was a player. Sounded like it might have been a "fan".
@@JacksonOwexLuke said Cale told him it was a chase card guy. I do think Adam used the noise as a bit of an excuse. There are always noises while playing. That said he played great all weekend.
Between Casey and Gavin I’d lean Casey because Gavin is usually really quiet out there. Definitely interesting though

BRP needs to clean up a few things...no fly zone for RC planes during tourney, arrange for the gun club to take a time out during tournament play, and don't allow spectators to be in the immediate line of sight when players are putting.

Three things I took away from this tournament is that:
1. I've never seen a luckier tournament than the one Adam had. He got the luckiest breaks on almost all of his bad shots. It was quite fun seeing a player playing well VS a player playing OK but getting away with it.
2. The complaining about sound is cringe as fuck, especially at an A-tier.
3. People are talking about the hole 17 winner spoiler, but I'd like add the spoilers for every other shot throughout the whole thing. "Look at this shot" before drives, "this is the only birdie" before long putts and "this right here man, I got goosebumps watching it" before Andrew's long putt for the win. The foreshadowing was terrible throughout.
I like that Adam is starting to play more controlled emotionally. He's got all the skills, and fought till the end. Congratulations to Andy!

I feel like it's just a matter of time before Hammes has a breakout year like Calvin did last year. He has all the tools to do so
He's missing consistent drives. He could thrive here because it's all shorts. But yeah, he's young enough that he'll figure it out.
