Too funny, my cat lays in the nepita, I shear mine back after it’s first flush, then I get a second flush till late fall. (Near Niagara Falls Canada). Love the pictures of the plants & shrubs you showed! Thanks for sharing your favourite plants!

I agree with all of these selections and my latest addition to our garden this year is the Hakonechloa 'Aureola' that we planted below the low branches of our Fireglow Japanese maple and what a great contrast they make together. Thanks for sharing this video.

Oih, I plan on adding a trio for a mini hedge. Now, if I can only find them at my local nurseries. Zone 4 b, Minneapolis.

It would be hard to only have ten. My favorite is speedwell/veronica. Such a long bloomer.

Here in my area zone 3 in Québec, I adore peony Itoh cultivars.

I have nearly all, well, maybe I do have all, of these.
I'm renovating a garden and picking out plants during our extremely long winter (and 3rd snowiest) was fun. I'm in Minneapolis, zone 4 b.
Nepeta is my tried and true. Many years ago, I started with 'Blue Wonder' and after they died many years later used Purrfection. I just picked up a couple 'Junior Walkers Low' so am excited to see how they perform. New to me, I bought Saxifrage and am in love with the tiny blooms, there are hundreds of varieties. I also got scabiosa and pink bubblegum Veronica and hummelo betony stachys. I'm waiting on some Fancy Finch ajuga I ordered and am excited to see their chartreuse foliage with tinges of burgundy (my perennial version of lemon coral sedum). I also ordered a green 'honeydew' echinacea, a raspberry double scoop variety and a pale pink tall phlox that has double blooms, coming from Brecks so 🤞

I love nepeta and Walkers Low is my favorite. I have Betony too. Love it! I’m adding some new hardy geraniums, Euphorbias and Epimediums as well as a bunch of Hellebores based on my previous video on underplanting. Even trying some new perennial mums. 🤞

Could we have a list of your top ten perrenials and top 10 shrubs?

I agree with your top ten….especially the spirea! I have had (I sadly moved recently so ‘had’) all the spirea you mentioned in zone 5b, and goldmound was a fav… it was one of my first shrubs to leaf out in the spring with a beautiful chartreuse pop, pollinator magnet in the summer, and beautiful greenish yellow in the fall. Goldmound did require some pruning a couple times a year to keep it more circular but I was ok with that. I loved that it held its leaves until a hard freeze in the fall as well. Double Play Doozie and Blue Kazoo were two I also very much enjoyed. I have moved to zone 8a and while I can still grow some spirea…I am devastated that ninebarks will no longer be in my garden….Tiny Wine and Gingerwine in particular…magnificent plants.

Oh bummer I can’t live with Ninebarks! Only joking of course! Thx for watching. Did you see the video I did only on Spireas?

I grow Walkers' Low and Cat's Pyjamas nepeta. I have Endless Summer, Fire Light, Pinkie Winky standard, Bobo, Incrediball and lots of spireas. Hostas, Diablo ninebark, perennial hardy geraniums, daylilies. I don't have any hyssop. I have various grasses, and heucheras. I don't have any luck with astilbe. I love my perennials and roses. I garden in Canada zone 5b. Bonny
