Really appreciate that bro I’ll stay away from the on road engines I’m a dirt guy with my 4.0 truggy I have the 28.8 novarossi I need a nice 21 ✊🏾✊🏾Like you said novarossi has too many damn engines
mine came with the 69 type 2 needle carb and the backplate with the uppersides ground down and angled towards the middle like the newest version of the p5 has. from everyone elses mine seems to be a one of but it was a factory run in version.
I have this not broken in yet still in the box got from Italian dealer for $230 came with a Hipex,efra.2135 evo 2 pipe l 50 manifold.haven't found 004.head shim for 21 can find them for .28 but I don't know if they fit .21s,,iam enjoying my elite 5 that's running,loose n fast can't beat these for$150 in Losi.8buggy love the bottom on this elite 5 decent top,end,,get this engine guys if,you,can't do the $200 plus amont
I am not sure why they designed it that way. My thought is they first did it for on-road engines for high rpm applications. The crank intake cutout would balance the crank better because it aligns with the crank weight.
Hey I have this engine in my tekno nb48 2.0 (not a racer just a basher) and by far the best combo I have used to date is the 9886 /41032 manifold and an 8mm Venturi. This will yield tremendous torque and great top end. This damn engine absolutely rips hard and mine isn’t modded or anything. It’s deff too much for racing in a buggy. I wish novarossi wasn’t gone bc I want another one of these monster engines.
Sometimes it's just better to buy a new engine,because those parts cost much and unless you have a nice engine & car set up it makes sense rebuild, but keep in mind there is always a newer an better set up.✌

If you are just getting into nitro I would recommend a cheaper engine. You will make mistakes and you wont be out as much $. By cheaper I mean just the lower priced Nova or other quality engine, a Virtus will be quite a bit more.

TheRwmods so it came in it came with a 2 needle carb like the reds r5r... also the front bearing is the black 607lu with a nov stamp. It’s the same bearing on Amain branded by boca for $15. That’s why it was only $160. 😂 I’m glad I have extra bearings and carbs laying around otherwise I’d be trying for a partial refund. Sense the picture shows a 3 needle carburetor... but overall I’m happy with it thx for the recommendation.

Can u use a p3 plug as the novarossi plug out of stock everywhere
A p3 will fit but it is too hot for the Novarossi. You can add a head shim and it will work better. A Os p5 would work without shimming.
