After years of searching local listings, I was able to find a brand new one. Mine did not come with a black barrel. Overall, my most proudest pick up without breaking the bank
evernhamanderson I have never seen a single mag for sale since I bought one in 2013. I’ve even gone through the trouble of contacting eaa and mecgar. They just won’t even respond. So the real story is great gun no magazine anywhere
Yes!!! This one of the best 45 ACP pistols made! After adjusting the sights for my 185 gr. J.H.P. reloads it put 4 round in the head of a siloete target at 25 yards. More accurate than my two 1911's. Adjustable sights. 14 round mag. Can't beat it for the price!!!
The SAR K2 45 is a clone of a CZ97 but actually better: 1. 14rd mag vs 10rd CZ mag 2. Slide is 3oz lighter vs CZ 3. Slide is .15" lower vz CZ 4. SAR K2 45 available in stainless steel 5. 33% off the price of CZ97 6. Better machining and fitment 7. Trigger is perfect 👌
There are 2 witness dots, one on the slide and one on the frame, right at the rear of the left side cocking serrations. You line them up, then the pin comes out easily.
Yes. Our boy here says that there are no marks on that piece, but I'm guessing unfamiliarity with the CZ platform. Still, if there are no witness marks, place the hammer at half cock, and as the slide touches the hammer, you should be in registration to remove the takedown pin. Works on my CZ 75s, so there's a good chance it will work on the K2. Onward!
Thanks for the magazine trick for disassembly. Works like a charm! These still being made and pop up few times a year. I love how it feels in the hand, perfect feel. Though not a concealed carry gun for most, it is a perfect open carry pistol. Mine is new and will be shooting it this week along with a couple other . 45s. I break in my pistols with FMJ rounds to help with feeding. I'll see how it runs through about 100-150 rounds while getting it pretty hot.
This was my first handgun purchase back in 2012. Im surprised that people are just discovering this gun. Its a fantastic handgun. I still dont understand why some are calling this a "CZ clone"....
I recently got the K2 45c...things are a bit counterintuitive with the magazine capacity; box label says 13, website says 14, mags have witness holes marked with 14 (same mags as the K2 45 -- only difference between the 2 pistols is barrel & slide lengths...they share the same frame); I am struggling to get 13 inserted into the mags...not a total deal breaker; perhaps the springs need to relax a bit...
Great video, I recently picked one of these up in stainless. Good tip on using the mag to push the pin. I wonder what the sight compatability is. I would really like to toss some night sights on it.
i have been looking for this since 2013 when i was 22 it was hard choice to make for me at that time being a poor college student between a Charles daly hi power for 350 and this k2 45 for 450 i got the Charles daly hi power but i wish i had the money to by both back then hopefully soon
Thanks for the tip to use something to push the pin out, I was knocking my head against the wall trying to get it out even with the 2 marks aligned. Do not know if anyone else has had an experience with re-loads but mine does not like them. I get a good quality re-load from a company down here in FL and it is the only gun I have that jambs consistently with there's. I am going to stick to factory loads from now on. Any thanks again
John Elrod every bit as smooth as a full sized cz. The compact really isn’t that compact. It’s like a 4.2 inch compared to 4.7. Believe there’s an ounce or so in weight difference between the two.
That's why I also love my HK45 full size. Better now prices are down in $700's too rather than my initial purchase of HK of $1k. But indestructible and o ringed barrel. I just order a SAR K2 45, waiting on FFL transfer. Picked up a few guns too. Lol
The gun has two little dimples on the left rear, one on the slide and one on the frame. You pull the slide back enough to line those up and that tells you when you can push the pin out. Similar idea for reassembly.
You can get almost 44 magnum ballistics with buffalo bore plus p plus, hard cast ammunition and have 14 rounds as opposed to 6. Some polymer framed striker fired pistols won't withstand those pressures for long but this steel frame I believe would be good to go long term, making it worth the weight. Good for bear defense carried in a shoulder holster. Of course the best bear defense is respect the bear, plus situational awareness !
My SARS 45 purchased in 2018 has dots on the slide and frame to line up for disassembly. Two problems with mine. The slide staying open on last shot is unreliable. Beside the two mags that came with, two more purchased did not fix the slide staying open. It’s obviously not a magazine problem. The other problem out of the box. The mag release button was ridiculously stiff and hard to push. I fixed the mag release problem by continually pushing it in while watching tv. After about an hour or so of in and out it loosened up. 3-400 rds later the mag button is no longer a problem. Unfortunately the slide staying open is getting progressively worse. It is now failing more often than staying open. Despite the minor nuisance of counting the shots fired. It is my go-to home and car gun when my shotgun is not appropriate. My 1911, Turk 92 clone and Beretta PX are now vault queens. If I’m going to spend the big bucks on ammo, it’s my SAR K2 I’m taking to the range.
Needs a hammer-release feature and a captive take-down pin (See Astra A-100 45ACP). Did not mention price, probably a good thing. Only in production for a year? I can understand that...
I didn't see any for ages, then last Saturday low and behold a local shop had 2 brand new stainless models. I know i paid more than what they used to go for but I got the stainless one with two mags for 520.oo. Maybe partly because of the timex we're in.
Excellent review and thanks for showing the take down and reassembly. Ordered one of the C models from Classic Firearms before they sell out (currently still available). I cannot find any mags out there for them, everyone is sold out. Anyone know where to get some or if any other pistols use the same mags?
The only negative is the trigger. The notch or where the curve of the trigger ends before the pin attachment with the frame, bites thick fingers. A common problem in a Sarsilmaz steel framed pistols. On the whole its a sweet gun
When filming a black gun, the backgrounds should be as light as possible as not to drown out any details. I showed this clip to a professional film maker who also mentioned this. The K2, however - is a great piece of which I'm a proud owner. I love the fact that it's a double stack and that the weight soaks up all recoil.
Absent a decocker, this is not a DA/SA pistol. It is a SA pistol with a second strike capability. The only way to fire DA would be to pull the trigger and thumb the hammer down.
these are made to NATO "milspec" standards as defined by ISO 9000/9001 & are approved for NATO use right out of the box. it shoots 45 super right out of the box as well.
If you like 45 acp you have to own this pistol. This guy is terrible about explaining how to break down this gun. Align the dots on the slide and the frame and push out the slide release. Just like breaking down a CZ

May I ask what it ran you in 2020?
K245 is a great gun, an absolute joy to shoot. Wait till you see the K245C compact that will be available later this year.
We'er trying to get our hands on one!
evernhamanderson cant wait.
Had this fun since they first came into the USA. Why in the world they don’t bring in magazines I don’t know
@@shawn22stl They are now! Unfortunately, demand is so high, it doesn't matter. Probably be pretty hard to find extra mags for the time being.

A friend has one. The safety will engage with the hammer down, something that I wish my CZ-75 would do!

it's a cz 75b compact in 45, it has NOTHING to do with the 97

I have one of these from the EAA era, and it an amazing gun. Pure please to shoot.
Yup. Cocoa beach fl .on the slide. Lol
I have had one for a couple years now and is one of my favorites
They're awesome Pistols for sure!
Mine jams alot.
I just learned how to do a functions check on a da/sa handgun, while admiring this beautiful handgun.

So a gun from turkey comes over here and is better than a smith Wesson. Also cheaper....... why can’t S&W do the same?
AMERICAN LABOR COSTS VS TURKISH LABOR COSTS. That alone is a 75% saving

i guess there is some missinformation , at the back of the slide and frame there is 2 dots that you have to line up for the dissassembly.
Had to pick one up love it. Nice videos
I never heard of this firearm before until I saw one at my local gun shop yesterday. The one I saw was in stainless. Love at first sight.
The k2 is really nice.
Just picked up a K2c 45. Oh boy, it’s a beast of a compact. 14+1 of 45acp!! Now if I could find magazines for it...lol
P 14 mags will work from what i heard .
Wonder how they compare to the full-size as far as smooth shooting and recoil?

@@ccheeks74 they do, on last round fired slide will not lock-back with them though.
Install a 1911 poly buffer around the recoil spring and guide rod and you will be happy.

Why would that make me happy?

Just ordered one from Grab a Gun. 8 bucks for shipping.
