Just want to add, I had the last day of Canadian nationals today and used your bailor trick (keeping them on the sides) and it really worked! Good luck fletcher in Cyprus!
WIVORY The1st Thanks for the feedback, I got my Nob life jacket from an Aussie laser guy who imports them. I’ll see if I can find the contact details for you. I’ve been loosening my hiking straps over the last couple of years. It’s a bit harder on the quads but it gives me more flexibility to roll my body around in the waves. I reckon it’s one of the more overlooked adjustments on an opti and a great one to play with to get just right for your style
Hi Champ, sorry for the slow reply. We stayed back in Cyprus then I was lucky enough to sail a 52 foot catermeran to Turkey. It was awesome. I think I got my Nob from a Brazilian Laser guy here in Aus. I think you can buy them online though. They are a good thing. Im 51kgs now, so Ill have to get a new one as Ive got too big for the 40kg - 50kg one. See if you can try one on from another Opti sailor to make sure you order the right one. Good luck with your sailing.
Hi Champ, I usually wore the Zhyk super warm skiff suit and a Rooster Aquafleece top when it was cold. I used Zyyk long leg pants if it was a standard day and a Zhyk Titanium top. If it was hot I usually wore some long legged rash hiking pants but I can't remember where I got them. For a life jacket I used the Nobb one. I think it is from Brazil? I basically didn't wear anything on my feet even when it was cold here in Aus. I wore sailing gloves if I was doing a regatta, but not much for single day events. Hope this is helpful and that it is your birthday soon so you can ask for some gear.

WIVORY The1st Thanks Mate! Happy to hear that the bailor trick worked for you - keep up the good work
Your really good 36th at worlds, wow impressive!
Very good
10/10 vid
Do you like having your hiking straps looser so on windy days you can use both. Great vid
Btw, where did you get your nob?

Fletcher Walters thanks for the advice
Great video! Are you bringing out any more instructional videos?
Yeah, that's the plan. A lot more videos to come!
Yep, I'll do a few more. Next one is on sailing Optis downwind. Thanks for your support.
