xavier valdez tbh I wouldn’t worry unless your in a really scetchy place. Most would be thefts are turned away by a lock of any kind anyways, and 95 percent of those who aren’t are probably not that knowledgeable about lockpicking or wouldn’t take out a lockpicking kit in public, they would rather break it with wire cutters or something in a hit and run style.

A false sense of security that will just slow you down in a home defence situation if not probably malfunction or not open if something intrudes with its electrical functions. Call me old school, a mechanical safe does the job perfectly. At least I know where the key is. And that the key will turn and open the lock if I need it to. No compromises. My comment highlights the device's absurdity to it's most basic form and reliance of power, to express how stupid it is. I understand it's application. But I despise the fact that it tries to innovate in a field where innovation is not needed. As the orthodox way of weapons storage will remain king. But I'm sure there will be an internet keyboard warrior who plays with his katana everyday while he watches john wick parabellum with the "uhm actually" altercations.

I think this might have a use as a "locked firearm" (technically) in areas where you need to have a concealed handgun permit to not have it locked or "unavailable" in your car. Though I wouldn't bet on it in court since many states say that it shouldn't be "readily available" and demonstrating how it works in court would probably show it to be readily available.

CA for example requires a “locked container” and then gives a definition of what they mean by locked container. I believe it goes something like a durable container that has a pad, combination or key lock, also included is a vehicle trunk and does not include the glove or center console. So I do believe the stop box would be a good option for Californians as it technically has a combination lock and would satisfy that requirement.

It wasn't a feature of the lock that it would get stuck and break the weapon. It was just so poorly designed that if you didn't treat it like a virgin girl, it would jam and you wouldn't be able to use the key to open it. You would have to either pick it or drill it out.
That is, even with the key and being casually careful, you could actually jam it.

I mean have you ever met a teenager? Smart enough to open locks by copying what's shown on TV, dumb enough to fuck around with guns while with their friends. Teens, especially teenage boys, take so many risks, even if they would normally know otherwise, when around other teens or their friends. I really don't think anyone under the age of 25 should be handling guns without supervision and this lock is not going to keep out a teenager who wants to shoot a gun for fun or to impress their friends.

Yeah, the problem with fingerprint locks like this one is that the fingerprint technology alone can be worth like 40 to 100 dollars (depending on scanner quality and whatnot) , so they have to allow some shortcomings on the other parts of the lock to not make it absurdly expensive. Once technology like this becomes more common and inexpensive, locks like this would be cool, but right now I agree with you that almost none of them are worth it

Aka.. a holster😂😂😂 they aren't just for carrying the sidearm so that you don't have to shove it in your waist band. They protect and cover the trigger so that it's impossible to accidentally pull the trigger. Important when carrying with 1 in the chamber and no safety like alot of popular sidearms are configured
