I was kind of confused, because you need to kill a Koldun to break the dead seal, I assumed this would be the spinner (defeated in the last episode). I thought Old Ego was not a Koldun, because he had effectively passed down his knowledge and power to Vasilisa through teaching her throughout her journeys with the Black Book. I know it said earlier in the story that Old Egor was still kind of a Koldun (he still kept chorts). I would not have expected how much power he still held. I'm assuming it's because he is a concealed demon. A "true" koldun.
