I've been to Key West 3 times and know almost every inch. Even if the weather is bad still the best place on earth. Gotta walk Duval street and visit Sloppy Joes and see Ernest Hemingway's picture on the wall. The history there is amazing. Thanks for sharing. 👍
So true, all Key West is expensive. At least double the price of most places. You just have to know going in, then chalk it up to being the most south you can be in the USA. I still go there for the live music. The last band of the night is usually top notch. The chill vibe of the town is worth the money to me. ✌️

Sorry, just got back from Key West (Feb. 22) for the first time. There may be history there, but it was a over priced and over rated travel destination for us. Drink prices were outrageous, food/dinner prices were over the top (but the food was good) and there's a real need of a top to bottom clean up campaign throughout the island/Key. Beautiful all inclusive 5 star resorts in Mexico were more reasonable and cleaner.
You are 100% right! We used to go there regularly and it keeps getting worse and more expensive every time! We were lucky to go there before it went downhill...Fantasy Fest is not going to be the same ever again, too...
It may be overpriced for some people. I guess it all depends on what is important to you. I rent a house for the month of May for $3900 right in the center of Old Town, convenient to everything and then again for $3000 for the month of October. I split it with my brother- the place has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, full kitchen, a private pool in the compound and is beautiful. I sit on the covered deck and it looks like I am in the middle of the jungle. My brother and I don't drink and don't care about being foodies and going out to eat anywhere fancy. Every day I get up and ride my bike for an hour or so, spend the afternoon scuba diving, ride again in the evening, go snorkeling if I'm not diving- Life is Good. My brother at 76 rides his bike at least 12 miles a day, goes to the pool, and goes to play tennis and pickleball each day. For us, the place is amazing. I like to say I live there 2 months out of the year.

Love the "Keys". Scuba diving is barely average, but snorkeling is great! (Keeping in mind I've dove Fiji, Honduran bay islands (3), and Bonaire).

Used to be my "HAPPY PLACE"...Went there at least once a year. Recently it has become outrageously expensive and the service is awful..
