It felt like yesterday when I recorded the 1st tutorial of Falling slowly, it was in fact three years ago. It gives me more motivation when I know it will help my students to learn a piece. I created this video for Max to support his learning of the piece. So Keep requesting tutorials.
In this tutorial, I loosely followed the sheet music, and used a fuller texture in the prechorus, changed the chorus right hand quite a bit to a layered and harmonising arrangement. Used a sus 2 and 4 chord at the end of chorus 2. These small changes add more colour and shade to the sound. It also sets this section apart from Verse 1, Chorus 1. In music we are forever playing a game of keeping the balance between repetition and variation. Enjoy learning the piece.
