GAN 13 Maglev FX First Impressions and Solves - Matty Hiroto Inaba from Hawaii

Thank you @GANCUBEOFFICIAL for this cube. The FX is a great cube with a unique hollow feeling. It is much lighter than the original GAN 13. The frosted surface is nice and the corner cutting is way better than the original. I will use this for a while and see if it becomes my main. Thank you to @architmahale for the great thumbnail as usual! The next competition is in HAWAII at the end of May right after my final exams!

dont get how its corner cutting is better than the original, isnt it supposed to be a downgrade (on magnets adjustment feature) from the original one?

Hi yom yom, I'm guessing gan saw that not many of the top cubers like the 13 and did some quick changes to it, they've done this before with the gan 4x4, they had a first batch which sucked then a second batch which was better

I am currently maining the wrm 2021 maglev (pbs easely but my times go up to 14s), but using my tornado v3 flagship (get an average of 12s or even 11s) sometimes when i just want great averages as its way more stable but its kinda slow and gets my hands tired in just a few solves. Im thinking about buying the gan 13 fx as its ~30 dollars in aliexpress and i wanted a recent gan cube as my only gan cube is the 356M, but the thing is, is the 13 fx really worth while being compared performance only to the gan 11 m duo and gan 12 maglev?

the gan 13 fx is good if you have a light turning style and want the cube to guide your turns without you having to put much effort into turning. the 12 is more controllable and is usually considered better, but it wont guide your turns as much. the 11 m duo doesn't really guide your turns but is decently stable and kinda slow compared to the 12 and 13

both the gan cubes can turn with nearly no efforts, before considering gan cubes you could try some other brands or just practice for less turn aggressiveness

most people would actually say the 13 locks up more than the 12. But at the end, turning styles could change lockup occurences

@@Didyus its not just me but the majority of top level cubers agree on that gan 13 (before update) wasnt great, and are maining 12. look up what cube tymon has been using recently if you dont believe me
