An alternative method would be extruded shells, which would allow you to have composite layers for added detail and information in the model. But this is a super cool and creative use of custom profiles!
This is an interesting idea. It really depends for what you use it for. I am into 3D modeling and Visualisation, so I don't need the added information/detail for any construction dwg's!
If you choose a building material for the fills that have the assigned surface, you won’t need to override in the Profile Manager nor at the Wall Settings either, and then the surface assignment is centrally controlled in that case. Alternatively like in your example, there’s no need to override in two places :) either in the Profile Manager or the Wall Settings ;)
James, yes this is correct and thanks for reminding me and mentioning this for my UA-cam followers, appreciated ! Saying this, I am mainly a 3D modeler now, so there is no need for me to set up the correct fills with the correct materials. I really only use fills like in my tutorials, what they look like and what their names are is not of my concern :)
