This song forever reminds us at Ann Carone Diamond Waychoff.
Well known as the Mother of the Nightwish Army.
She sadly left us at June 28, 2020.
    It was her favorite song.
Rest in peace dear Ann, we will never forget You.
And Thank You Gabriel Bardac for carrying on the flame that Ann ignited.

Floor just had her second child 2 months ago. She has some solo concerts coming up in Netherlands this month and she just finished the vocals for the next Nightwish album. The album will be out next year but no touring until 2025. Drummer Kai Hahto said the new album is heavy. 🤘🤘

Nightwish Army Turku Finland reporting! This song is for You Ann (mother of Nightwish Army) R.I.P . Ann Waychoff was known by many as the Nightwish Mom. She would give comments to people who reacted to Nightwish videos to try and help the reactors understand and she would tirelessly exchange comments with people who wanted to know more. She also communicated privately with a large number of fans and reactors (we know now from the tributes.).
The song is inspired by the 19th century ,52 chapter poem of the same name by Walt Whitman. The studio version ,at the end, has a spoken poem section, written by Tuomas in an ode to the original. The words to it are the words you see on the big screen behind the band. This was song # 14 of 15 here, right after Ghost Love Score. Keep enjoying the journey!
Please, try something from Buenos Aires concert next, "Dead Boys Poem" & "I Want My Tears Back".

R.I.P Ann Waychoff mother of the Nightwish Army.
    June 28th, 2020 .
Ann was a big Nightwish Fan.
And every new person who listened to NW, she went through a little chat.
And gave them some info about NW.
    This was her favorite song.
And this song belongs to her.
I like very much that Gabriel have continue Ann s work.... so her heritage is still here.

So many good things about this song. Jukka pounding the drums into submission, Floor stalking that microphone, Marko singing along off mike. But, most of all it is a song where you really can see how all parts of the band work together to form one perfect whole.

It is A Tribute to the poem in 52 chapters, One for every week of the year, " Song of myself " by Walt Whitman 1819-1892.(one of the co-founders of US poetry). The 7th line of the song is ""Of mermaids, of Whitman's and the Ride""". The extended official studio version of this song has, at the end, a poem as a tribute to Whitman made by Tuomas, the keyboard player and the mastermind of nightwish. These lines you can also see fast flahing on the ledscreen of the video you just saw.
Bucle up, it goes very deep.
" I see a slow, simple youngster by a busy street
With a begging bowl in his shaking hand
Trying to smile but hurting infinitely
    Nobody notices
    I do, but walk by
An old man gets naked and kisses a model-doll in his attic
    It's half-light and he's in tears
When he finally comes his eyes are cascading
I see a beaten dog in a pungent alley
    He tries to bite me
All pride has left his wild drooling eyes
I wish I had my leg to spare
    A mother visits her son,
Smiles to him through the bars
    She's never loved him more
An obese girl enters an elevator with me
    All dressed up fancy
A green butterfly on her neck
    Terribly sweet perfume deafens me
    She's going to dinner alone
That makes her even more beautiful
    I see a model's face on a brick wall
A statue of porcelain perfection beside a violent city kill
    A city that worships flesh
The first thing I ever heard
Was a wandering man telling his story
It was you, the grass under my bare feet
The campfire in the dead of the night
The heavenly black of sky and sea
    It was us
    Roaming the rainy roads
    Combing the gilded beaches
Waking up to a new gallery of wonders every morn
Bathing in places no-one's seen before
    Shipwrecked on some matt-painted island
Clad in nothing but the surf
    Beauty's finest robe
    Beyond all mortality we are
Swinging in the breath of nature
In early air of the dawn of life
A sight to silence the heavens
I want to travel where life travels
    Following its permanent lead
Where the air tastes like snow music
Where grass smells like fresh-born Eden
I would pass no man, no stranger, no tragedy or rapture
I would bathe in a world of sensation
    Love, Goodness, and Simplicity
(While violated and imprisoned by technology)
The thought of my family's graves was the only moment
I used to experience true love
    That love remains infinite
As I'll never be the man my father is
How can you "just be yourself"
When you don't know who you are?
Stop saying "I know how you feel"
How could anyone know how another feels?
Who am I to judge a priest, beggar, whore, politician, wrongdoer?
I am, you are, all of them already
Dear child, stop working, go play
    Forget every rule
There's no fear in a dream
"Is there a village inside this snowflake?"
    A child asked me
"What's the color of our lullaby?"
I've never been so close to truth as then
    I touched its silver lining
Death is the winner in any war
Nothing noble in dying for your religion
    For your country
    For ideology, for faith
    For another man, yes
    Paper is dead without words
    Ink idle without a poem
All the world dead without stories
    Without love and disarming beauty
    Careless realism costs souls
    Ever seen the Lord smile?
All the care for the world made Beautiful a sad man?
Why do we still carry a device of torture around our necks?
Oh, how rotten your pre-apocalypse is
All you bible-black fools living over nightmare ground
I see all those empty cradles and wonder
    If man will ever change
I, too, wish to be a decent manboy
    But all I am
    Is smoke and mirrors
Still given everything, may I be deservin
    And there forever remains
That change from G to E minor. "

    This is your song.
If you ever have to explain the Groove in Metal to someone - play this tune.
Until the Breakdown hits you with a 10 ton hammer it is all fun and games.
But then the slow chugging monster with the machine gun riffing takes over.
And for every Metal Head this lights up the day.
Awesome….Imho one of the best songs ever.

I've seen them live now 5 times. 1 time Tarja, 1 time Anette and 3 times with Floor. The shows have been getting far more bigger and more epic through out the years. But attending a show is a must. 😅 2 hours are over in a blink of the eye. Such a journey.

There is no band on the same level as NW ,their lyrics, compositions, stage production,Live performances, and then vocals : there are many great female vocalist in the world, then there are a few exceptional ones ,then there is Floor Jansen, Floor Jansen formerly of AfterForever & ReVamp who in 1999
started attending the Rock Academy in Tilburg and then at the National Conservatory in the Netherlands. She then went on to study & trained in musical theatre and also attended opera lessons for a year.,

  • @Mischnikvideos

It's an epic movie soundtrack. Like Storytime and other songs from the concert, the song comes from the album Imaginaerum, which is also the film music for Nightwish's film of the same name.
The song has two meanings. On the one hand, it is a tribute to Walt Whitman's poem of the same name. On the other hand, the main character in the film suffers from dementia and forgets more and more. In order to reconcile with his daughter, he writes down everything he always wanted to say to her but never said. This is what the texts in the background, see on the screen. In the studio version, the collection of quotes follows the song, spoken by the actors and band members.
Seeing it live won't happen in the near future. A new album will be released early next year, but the majority of the band insisted on the one-year break. The pandemic has thrown their schedule into disarray. There will therefore be no tour for the next album. When the next tour will come is uncertain.
At Floor, Plan B has become Plan A. She will be traveling with her solo program. The bassist and singer Marko Hietala left the band during the pandemic and is also touring solo:
    The newest:
EXIT EDEN - Run! feat. Marko Hietala (Official Video) | Napalm Records
    Marko Stuff:
MARKO HIETALA - Dead God's Son (OFFICIAL LYRIC VIDEO)

Wacken 2013 is my go to concert 90% of the time. Full Marko effect, Jukka the drummer, and Floor more beautiful without the tattoos. That was my introduction to Nightwish 4+ years ago at age 70. Hardly watch any reactions from any of their other concerts unless Marko is involved. And of course, I have watched tons of reactions to Floor's solo stuff....Beste Zangers, her covers songs, Amsterdam Live 2021, While Loved Died, 2010 Revamp-Disdain. Never really got into Floor's new album, no replay value for me after seeing all this Nightwish stuff with her and the previous stuff mentioned. Metal never interested me in all my years except for certain songs from the 70's and 80's. I'm not a metalhead, I'm a Floor Jansen head.

We hope to see them out touring in 2025, find😅etc crossed. I am sure there will be some awesome videos to go with the new album to react to once it gets released next year. :)

Hey Nick, I just wanted to say how happy I was to notice you are reacting to Nightwish songs! I've been watching your Buffyverse and Friends reactions on your other channel and really enjoying them, and Nightwish is my favorite band. My favorite Nightwish performance is The Greatest Show on Earth (Tampere 2015) which is an epic 20-minute song about the history of our planet. I hope you'll react to it at some point! (Definitely put up the lyrics for that one though, they really enhance the whole experience of that song.)

You should really check out How's the Heart and Endlessness. Two amazing songs from a recent album. One by Floor the other by Marko.
The lyrics on the background are, if I'm not mistaken, the words of a poem that makes up the last part of this very song, a part that isn't included in the live show, but it is shown in the background.

Great reaction thanks, I love the way you put the Artist in full screen and yourself bottom right, a lot of reactors have the artists way too small.
Can I recommend Tribal at Hellfest 2022 it’s amazing (or anything at Hellfest!)🤘
