I've also never played a PvE game that has headshots on the players. And the devs can say that's realistic all they want- it's not fun. And also taking a rocket to any body part is lethal so the headshot=realism argument is just so bad. Losing half your HP to a hunter when there's 50 of them following you is just, so, dumb. But then the fanbase says it's 'a skill issue' or 'lower the difficulty'. Thanks fanbase, great ideas! Too bad that doesn't fix questionable game design. Probelms i have. Primaries are a joke. It's just an extra side arm slot. A 308 round shouldnt take 2 shots to down a small spitter unless the first shot only hits one leg. Devs keep using realism as an excuse in a game where the premise is shooting soldiers at a planet to deploy them.... these are a few of my host hated things.
The primaries are mostly fine, a few could use tuning but I can use most any on D10 and still succeed. Friends list works fine for me on ps5, grenades (esp. impact feel great to use), and I use stealth all the time what do you mean? Put on light armor and move low and slow
Command bunkers always had crazy pinpoint accuracy, now they never miss one shot because of that dumb decision of the devs to tight even further bot shot spread, sometimes you're running along the base and suddenly you get sniped thru some opening in the rocks you're using as a cover.

You're close; if I understand the industry correctly then the developers who actually built the game (before launch) usually only have a contract to make it, not to update it and support it over its lifetime. Usually this means that the team gets almost fully replaced shortly after the game launches.
@@GalladeTheWarrior aint that suppose to be different due to how exotic the stingray is? Didn't AH states that they had few really old timers on board that had experience with stingray engine? Letting them go would be the most idiotic thing to do even if it is not the norm in the industry.
@@BOTmaster15 It also doesn't make any sense for a Swedish studio. @@spikem5950 It makes a lot of sense for the changes we see. If the original programmer had been there to review the code, he would have known exactly what to expect from those values, and that the damage spike was indicative of a bug and not the weapon being overtuned.
The accuracy of the enemy shots are just dumb, even in pure smoke you cannot hide and hiding behind rocks don't protect you because explosion and enemy bullets go through them
Peak gameplay. The impailers especially. They need some sort of telegraph that lets you know where the main body is. I’m sick of getting raggolled around the map while the thing camps in one location with infinite range.
I only have like 30h in hd2 (not a lot i know) but if there is one thing I noticed is that there is little to no friendly fire for enemies and enemies being ragdolled. Enemies being able to just swarm you without precaution of hitting each other sucks. Can smack enemies with explosives and the common mook won't even get ragdolled if it doesn't kill them, meanwhile the impaler tentacles can send you flying by striking the ground 100 yards from where you're are standing and any nearby bugs won't even be affected. Some arpgs like Remnant1&2 do a good job of having large enemies cleaving attacks affect other enemies. Just don't think how an attack behind you can ragdoll you back to the enemies you where fleeing from is fine by AH.
"The game is fun" and "the game is hard" aren't mutually exclusive, but this video is very much in the vein of "hard games are not fun". A good part of this is "game is glitchy so bad stuff happens" but just damn.
Hard games are fun. They just have to be well designed. Look at fromsofts games. It's possible to get through something like Elden Ring without getting hit. It's absurdly difficult, but possible. Helldivers, on the other hand is FULL of cheap deaths. Nothing the player could've done would've saved them. That's not true difficulty. It's just bad design.
Just yesterday I was thinking to myself, 1 hit / insta kills on me are getting frequent as hell, and then you release a video compilation of pretty much exactly that, glad to know I also suffer from skill issues 🤣
It's just so easy to lose all your samples to random bs like getting ragdolled into a hole or knee depth water. Or to crashes. Or to connection issues. Or to the Pelican bugging out. Or when they clip through the floor. Or when the pickup prompt bugs out. Or when a bug prevents reinforcments. Or when you get launched into the stratosphere and you just won't land. Or when the Pelican takes off but it flies through something and you die inside it and the pilot throws the samples out the window I guess. Or when you're just so sick of the game not working you stop playing altogether due to skill issues
And you'll still have people defending how great the balance is, or how "this is the vision" of the game, and call it a skill issue and that you should just lower the difficulty.

The rocket tanks, rocket striders, and impaler have been the worst additions to this game. When gunships came out, i didnt think it could get any worse. Rocket tank completely defeats the point of cover in bot missions, rocket strider just takes way too long to kill with conventional arms. Impaler is just absolutely awful to play against, especially because its so damn hard to locate them while you’re being flung 10000 feet across the map.
the amount of times he went "I must go now, my planet needs me.." was hilarious.. those moments genuinely made me laugh. and y'know, I would enjoy them more if we didn't have all those other times slight things ragdolls you into stunlocks, or the bugs, or crashes.
I am trying to help here ok? So don't get mad. I think your problem is that you don't know about the enemies until it is too late. So often you die surrounded by a horde of enemies. My tip is, to get the UAV booster and constantly check for enemy movement. If a patrol is going your way, end the fight and run away. Come back when the patrol left. For the tentacle monster, you have to deal with them as soon as they spawn. Throwing orbital precision strike or 500kg on top of them. These two strategems are great cause of their low cool down. Allowing you to deal huge damage in short amount of time. Hope it helps.
@@GAEULsbn I play difficulty 9 all the time. So I guess you are right. This build might be too boring for lower difficulties cause it is less fun than all the other strategems that look cooler and give you more space for an error.
To be honest, this entire situation is hilarious. This is what you get when you say, "The game is too easy." You get a difficulty that wedges every unfair mechanic against you, habitually. What do you get from completing 10s? Nothing. Actually, you get less liberation by hour than if you just ran trivials. They can only put so many enemies on screen without setting people's systems on fire. How did you all think an increase in difficulty would look? It's exactly what I expected. An unfair slosh. It's 10. It's there as a novelty, almost. There's nothing behind that gate. It's an attraction, like a roller coaster. Get your neck dislocated then go ride the whiz whirl. Would an extra magazine or a +10% dmg to whatever gun make a difference? Nope. They'd have to rework everything from the ground up to make this much different. That ain't happening.
an remember their people still saying it shouldn't be easy and want all 15 difficulties from the first game. They can't even make the ones they have challenging and people want 5 more
The saddest thing is, it isn't even harder to win - It's just harder to have fun with. If you avoid fights and disengage properly, you can complete any difficulty, since as you noted, they can only load up so many enemies and their pathfinding can only be so detailed, so it will always be exploitable. The difficulty only comes in forms which incentivize you to not engage with the most interesting parts of the game (the combat). I get that their tech environment is limited. If anything, I just wish they had the full-size maps with all the sub-objectives available on difficulties 5-7. And maybe they could spawn some of the new enemy types on those difficulties occasionally, as rare/miniboss encounters.
I was thinking of quitting the game because of this sentiment. I hate the feeling like I'm wasting my time. I don't mind a challenge like in Dark Souls, but I want a skill based game where I can survive if I get better. It doesn't feel like a skill based game anymore. All the random stuff that happens feels ridiculous.
I unlocked super helldive difficulty. Played around 50 matches both bots and bugs and this shit is unplayable. The amount of ragdolls, heavy shield devastors instakill headshots, and explosions in general ruin any fun to be had. Bugs are just as bad. The only chargers that spawn are the heavily armored ones that takes multiple anti-tank rockets to kill in the head. The impaler's tentacles just follow you across the map, and it feels impossible to even find the body. Iv actually started to play just difficulty 8 bugs since the "balancing" doesn't ruin any fun and the enemy units come in more variety.
NGL the air-hit double-movement at 0:57 is worthy of a blue plate special reward. There's a reason that we learned in the 90s with CS-bots that the thing that makes firearm-wielding enemies fun/interesting to fight are slower projectiles, looser cones of fire, slightly RNG reaction times and if it's a horde-shooter then putting a cooldown/aoe-disable-effect/varied-cooldown-timer/building-resistance on any soft/hard CC abilities because seeing an aim-bot turn, jump, duck, headshot-drill your forehead AFTER taking a bullet to the cranium cross-map simply isn't what people want to compete against, especially if they also get to blind, root, stun, flinch-lock, knockdown/body-block and generally prevent any counter play in the process.
This shit was so funny Lol Big part of why i love the game. Huge moments of epic with a smattering of "oh god what is happening". Makes me laugh every time i ragdoll
saw a Charger get stuck on top of the evac shuttle building during a civilian rescue mission. it charged at me as we were fighting a bunch of other bugs and scaled the wall right in front of the door the npcs go into. it stayed up there the entire time we were evacuating civilians. it was so funny to see that i didn't even care a friend of mine had called in a napalm bombing run underneath it. uploaded it to my channel, we could all use a laugh in these frustrating times.
Anyone else on the PS5 having an issue where every time they spawn in all of their weapon sights are reset to first person? How do you even generate an error like that when it's been working fine since day 1?
Yea I don't play bots anymore after the new enemy release. Giving virtually every enemy rockets/explosive-attacks, so I endlessly ragdoll until a flamethrower hulk can catch up to me, is just not fun. Their could have been so many more interesting enemies List: bots that shield their teammates with deployable cover, ones that release poison gas, attack drones controlled by a host hiding in the back, bots that have small jammers that affect your orbital accuracy, or hurt lock on weapons, little drones that will assemble a defensive turret if you don't kill them fast enough. focus on recon/stealth a bit better by introducing floating scout bots that call in nastier hoards (and reducing the flare frequency from all the basic bots). Bots that buff certain bots with their power generator, but if you shoot off the right parts will critically explode. Bots that throw/drop mines around the battlefield that only trigger on divers (unless you shoot them to force the explosion). ANYTHING BUT MORE ROCKETS.
They could keep the games as is but make it have unlimited reinforcements and cut down time limits. Then it does becomes a looney tunes styles game where you play as the dumb storm trooper style bad guy.
Impalers are the posterboy of bad enemy design imho they take a lot to kill, they are annoying to fight, they will bug you out of the map more times that actually kill you and you will be stun locked to death meanwhile the other bugs deal the damage. everything they bring to the table is just a pain in the ass and killing them instead of being fun, its more of a "finally i can enjoy the game" deal.
The strider at 4:39 watched that whole thing go down and said “Hey nice job, you killed a tough enemy!” And then shot you like it was your birthday present
Getting slam-dunked into the bug hole by the impaler tentacle was pretty funny. That particular thing happening to me I would have probably laughed my ass off still to be honest. XD
NGL alot of those deaths were on you. Trying to use a tint gap between a charger and a wall as an escape...thats also blocked by a tentacle about to slap down exactly through the gap. Stopping in large groups of enemies to take pot shots at a single enemy, as everything descends on you... But yeah, the game is absolutely borked.
You can always kite, use cover, run away, dive, kill enemy, don't forget to use your stratagems and use good weapons. There is no problem with ragdolling. Make sure to hit those one-shot super turrets before they even smell you. Ah, game is so very easy and doesn't have any design problems what so ever. Or so they say.

Also changing the difficulty doesn't matter as I've seen haz 7 be far harder than haz 10. More chargers and impalers than I knew what to do with on 7- more than once. But haz 10? We walked through it pretty ok. Well- when the impalers weren't sending my friend to the shadow realm.
To a hunter? You can get half your HP deleted by a motherfucking scavenger in the game, it's such a failure of game design, it's wild.

Getting ragdolled and then being forced/stuck in a getting up animation while you have absolutely NO i-frames during the entire moment that happens is so utterly infuriating that it makes me always consider why I even play the game. Imagine if you had no i-frames on getting up every time you got knocked down on the ground in Monster Hunter, for example. That would be EXTREMELY annoying.

bruh this is all without the patrols bs. there are so many patrol spawns sometimes that I literally cannot do anything but watch my soldier get shot into swiss cheese from all directions.
run into 1 patrol and engage. suddenly a 2nd patrol shows up in my @$$. turn around to engage them. now a 3rd patrol just spawned to my right. so I retreat in order to manage the 3 patrols easier. guess what, 4th patrol happens to be right where I'm retreating to. my reinforcement is depleted, my guns are empty, all my stratagems are on cooldown and all pieces of cover around me have enemies behind them. and my soldier is getting shot so much that I can't even stim. unironically literally unplayable.

Those bunker turrets are actually the most annoying thing ever in the entire game.
Probelms i have. Primaries are a joke. It's just an extra side arm slot. A 308 round shouldnt take 2 shots to down a small spitter unless the first shot only hits one leg. Airburst has half the ammo cuz the reload animation uses 2 rockets from your pack. One to reload the round and one disappears when you lock the rocket in the tube.constant DCs, friend list still dont work on console, ADS will randomly break and only dying seems to fix it. This footage cements the theory that the nincompoops at arrowhead are not the original developers of the game, and they simply outsourced/ bought it from somebody else and reskinned it. I guess it's still issue on their end.
You're close; if I understand the industry correctly then the developers who actually built the game (before launch) usually only have a contract to make it, not to update it and support it over its lifetime. Usually this means that the team gets almost fully replaced shortly after the game launches.

@@spikem5950 It makes a lot of sense for the changes we see. It is like whoever balanced the railgun's initial values--with an understanding of durable damage, etc.--was nowhere to review the changes to his code which were made in response to the perceived imbalance of 1-shotting titans (that actually came from the crossplay bug). If the original programmer had been there to review the code, he would have known exactly what to expect from those values, and that the damage spike was indicative of a bug and not the weapon being overtuned.

And you'll still have people defending how great the balance is, or how "this is the vision" of the game, and call it a skill issue and that you should just lower the difficulty.
i took out half the side objectives, and half the main objectives by myself, and when i got to the drill part, of course a bug hole immediately spawns, but it also started with a charger and impaler, but then a Bile titan spawns in, and AS SOON AS this happens ... a F'Kn ion storm hits ..... i handled the first one EVENTUALLY. WITHOUT my teammates, who were grouped together doing the other half of side objectives.... and i said what happened in the group chat..... but heres the thing.... IT HAPPEND AGAIN!!!! Yep. This was me last night. I felt like I'd done the Royal Mile pub crawl. I'm done too. I'll just go back to playing Bf2042 until STALKER 2 comes out.
Getting flung into the skybox and calmly saying, "I'm doing some movement" is basically the helldivers experience
"We're playing Dark Souls with guns" - No, that would be Remnant: From The Ashes and Remnant 2, and I can guarantee you will have a better time there.
Bro sure spent a lot of time going back to space. Fucking magic physics going on to make that shit happen.
This game went from fun to play, to hard to play, to frustrating to play, to "I'm wasting my time" to play this.
@@Badsmarty100% accurate. So much bs now. It’s frustrating and unfun
Super Helldive is not even that hard, you're just telling on yourself.

Yea I don't play bots anymore after the new enemy release. Giving virtually every enemy rockets/explosive-attacks, so I endlessly ragdoll until a flamethrower hulk can catch up to me, is just not fun. Their could have been so many more interesting enemies
List:
bots that shield their teammates with deployable cover,
ones that release poison gas,
attack drones controlled by a host hiding in the back,
bots that have small jammers that affect your orbital accuracy, or hurt lock on weapons,
little drones that will assemble a defensive turret if you don't kill them fast enough.
focus on recon/stealth a bit better by introducing floating scout bots that call in nastier hoards (and reducing the flare frequency from all the basic bots).
Bots that buff certain bots with their power generator, but if you shoot off the right parts will critically explode.
Bots that throw/drop mines around the battlefield that only trigger on divers (unless you shoot them to force the explosion).
