I once spent a lot of time in used & new bookstores, books really are my life, but I now live with the love of my life (an ex-racer, rescue greyhound named Billy-Blue), & I no longer go anywhere where I can't take him, so now all my book shopping is done online - weird, I guess... Thank for another fun video. What a great mixed bag of bookish sweets.
Wow, a greyhound. I bet you have to keep Billy-Blue active. They seem like a dog that needs to run and run. I commend you on your sacrifice, and for safe harboring a rescue. That is awesome!
@@kevintowle9665: no, Billy-Blue is the most quiet, gentle & affectionate hound. He just wants to sleep most of the day away as close as possible. He has saved my life.
Thats awesome that you get to meet one of your favorite writers. Buying books and funding charity work, everybody wins. Elmore Leonard is great, has one of the coolest writing styles imo. All of those Viking portable collection paperbacks are awesome.
You picked up some great stuff (and I hope you like the Elmore Leonard westerns). My city has one small chain bookstore which seems to never have what I am looking for as well as a decent used bookstore. That's it. I'm starved for choice so I am envious you have so many used bookstores near at hand. Enjoy!
Thanks for sharing about the Orphan’s Treasure Box. Buying used online to purposeful org is such a good option compared to standard eBay. I also have recently grabbed a few Viking Portables which are great for big authors I know nothing about!
@@kevintowle9665 Jack Kerouac who my brother really likes and Abraham Lincoln with all his speeches and works relating to the Civil War which seemed interesting in a little collection
@@kevintowle9665 I’ll let you know if they’re worth a re-read. As for Steinbeck I loved Grapes of Wrath and had mixed feelings toward Of Mice and Men, so looking forward stop your thoughts on if I should tackle more
That’s an awesome haul!!!!! Love the locked room mysteries book.
Thanks, yes, excited to get to that in the future!

Awesome all around. Yes, looking forward to sharing more about seeing/listening to Ken Liu.

Welcome, and yes those compilations are awesome. I am excited about reading some Steinbeck in the future.
Which authors did you pick up ones on?

@naglebagle10 Jack Kerouac from the Beat Poet generation. I read some Kerouac and Ginsberg in my late teens.
