As plus size crocheter, I love the acknowledgment of how hard it is to find the very few size inclusive clothing options. My only gripe with the size inclusive patterns that I find are that they are almost never as cute as the straight size clothing. It's almost always matronly

I'm a size M/L and also struggle with this. You never know how the thing will fit you. That's why you should measure yourself, make gauge, make sure your tension is right, your yarn and hook are right for the project your making. I'm saying it isn't a plus size thing to struggle with patterns and "fails".

I'm plus sized (xl-xxl) and it is SO hard to find patterns for my size! I'm not a beginner but I'm definitely not a pro, especially with clothes! (Made my first top yesterday) I'll try to make a few clothes from this list so I can gain confidence with making clothes before starting to make my own patterns

Bro ty! .. every time I look for patterns for me to sell I make sure is at least up to 4xl or 5xl for me and my other big girlies. And is so hard.. but what I’ve noticed is every 3 stitches is 1 inch (I think .. I’m not sure now)

Thank you so much for this video. I am a size medium/large buttt i have autism an fitted clothing makes me feel super overwhelmed and almost claustrophobic. I usually wear size 1xl to 2xl because it is loose fitting and especially with arms being too tight i will literally start crying. Plus size patterns need to be more available whether you need fitted clothes in your size or have sensory sensitivities and need to have loose fit clothes to function. I am learning to make patterns myself-i only started rocheting about a year ago but am writing my own patterns but im gonna start selling them soon and i will always make it adjustable to any size. I have friends who are 3xl and cant find patterns but also friends who are xxxs and cant find patterns either. Not to mention most women now actually are around a size L-xL so it makes no sense to me why even XL can be so hard to find. Im thinking of doing custom sizing to ppls measurements with preexisting patterns like alterations and give them to the pattern creator for a small fee but they can just sell it for their own profit. There are so many cute patterns tghat just dont fit like 50% of humanss.

you could try making traditional patterns with a lighter material like cotton or bamboo instead of wool or acrylic, maybe?
