- On Valentines Day 1992, WXGZ of Green Bay, Wisconsin said goodbye. The sign-off included retrospects and behind-the-scenes footage from the station. After Ed Myers (the announcer for the station) and Roy Smith (general manager for the station) said their last goodbyes, the station signs of after nearly 8 years.
Posting here with music removed not my original video but this is of historical importance.
I wasn't 1 yet so I have no memory of this but I understand how meaningful this would be for others that are 40s and up.
Looking at things like this, from the past, gives me a feeling of emptiness and a sense of doom
This final message has an emotional “curtain close” with the lights tuning off to the presenter. This channel must be Wisconsin’s Fox Station.
WXGZ super 32... remember them so well... I think I even remember when they went stereo... I know their tower was next to WLRE tv 26 on scrays hill the two towers with the white strobes
I'm guessing the bad audio is covering up some music that UA-cam took issue with?
I was 1 day old....
Why did they cease broadcasting?

So What happened
In short, Appleton Midwestern Television, the company that owned the station, ran into financial difficulties and ultimately had to declare bankruptcy in 91 and the station shutdown in 92. It did return under new ownership in 94, though that owner did change the call letters to WACY-TV in 1995, and it remains on air today as an independent station (it started as such in 84, then went on to become a fox affiliate, then an NBC alternate, UPN, My, etc. - went through a lot of phases).
The simpsons Is From 1992
The Simpsons started in 1987 on the Tracey Ullman show.
