Nsala Malakum Yayi. I enjoyed your video… on my journey in Palo Mayombe, I’ve learned a lot from godparents. As I go deeper on my path my Congo spirits / ancestors are showing me secrets that are not being shared or no one wants to talk about.. like how they traveled etc. I’m happy for you! May Nsambi continue to bless you.🌻
Omg its crazy that this video popped up! I wasnt introduced to witchcraft with Palo but Ive been feeling I want something deeper! I’m afro-latina BUT grew up in an african american household bc I didnt know my hispanic side of the family(Dad)! And honestly since my initiation into palo, Im soo interested in a deeper aspect of ATR! I’m learning on my own about palo and Kingo tradition/culture…bc of the fact my padrinos arent doing their part in guiding me or having time to TEACH ME. Its like they hot their money and thats it. BUT GOOD THING I love to learn new thing and love to read! But No classes, nothing from ny initiation so its dissappointing…. After I payed $1500. But I want to know it all! PALO, IFÁ, OCHA…. All of ATR to an extent! Thank you for this video! Cab someone get in contact with you OUTSIDE of youtube?
You're very welcome. We have a festival coming in April with several speakers on traditional Kongo spirituality and the Ifa-Orisa tradition. You can find details at isis-moon.com/events and email to admin@isis-moon.com. Thanks for watching.
@@isismoonYaya / Iya if only the black people would speak up on how alot of us have been wronged in our own traditions that are teached by others and some of our own kind. Im supposed to be short of 6 years in Palo but wasn't initiated properly on purpose by my so called Padrino.
@jazzaybuncom8652 I have thought about this several times and remember you asking about it. I do not know anyone else besides myself that lives here in the United States. I'm not saying there aren't any. They're just not in my network. Most of the traditional ngangas that I know are in the Africa.
Thank you ror sharing your beautiful story. I too had my DNA done but through Ancestry. And found out most of my DNA is from Nigeria I'm 36% I also have roots in the Kongo. For years before I knew this. Every time I would hear about the horrors the Congolese people, suffered at the hands of Leopold in Belgian Congo. I would cry & get very emotional about it. It still bothers me to this day. So I knew I had Roots connected to those people. I thought about Palo but wasn't sure. I'm Afro- Caribbean/ West Indian roots on my mother's side from the Bahamas. So Lucumi seems like a fit culturally. But I was lead to Isese. I also had a Ifa divination done. With an Isese Babalawo who said I was called to initiate into the system. This was two and a half three years ago. I have not initiated yet but I practice Hoodoo. Which was taught through my Great-grandmother and I venerate the Seven African Powers along with My Ancestors. I'm not sure which way the winds will blow (Oya). But for now I'm happy & Blessed.
Ase! Many blessings to you on your journey and thank you for sharing your story as well. The spirits will definitely guide you on the best route to take and support you in decisions at every crossroads.
How can us Black Women move closer to lewrning traditional Kongo Spirituality? From a lot of hiuses the representation doesn't even resemble the Kongo people. Do you know where I can learn?
Learning takes time. Just remember to give yourself the time you need to evolve and understand. I am having a festival in April when I will be having several elders from the Kongo to provide guidance to us all. If you're interested, you can visit my site isis-moon.com/events to RSVP. Im a Tata in palo and im also going to receive my hand of ifa eventually. When I ask my babalawo about palo, he doesnt know what it is😅. So im assuming ifa is used to keep someone aligned with their destinty and palo is for daily guidance
Yes, depending on where your Babalawo is from, I can say it's common that they may not know a lot about Palo. And there is more of a deeper difference between the two systems then what you're assuming. So it's probably best to talk to your elders who initiated you into Palo about that.
It is common to initiate in Palo first then ifa “Iku lobi osha” and yes you can do both Yaya and saint coronation become a Iyalosha and work both 🇵🇷 if the person you went to told you different STAY AWAY!
It was years ago when I was told that. I was just sharing that part of my story which was me asking people in the community I was connected to at the time about initiates to both Palo and Ifa.
Yes I know. I have Kongo elders and people that I communicate with there on a regular basis. Currently, one of my elders has an orphanage that me and my spiritual family send support. I also send what I can to others that I know living in the Kongo.
But you cant un-initiate from Palo ! The Nganga accepts you, you are scratched, you received your Lucero...then your Nganga....and you are bound.. .please explain. Thank you Sister
Correct, you can't uninitiate...and actually that applies to any of the spiritual systems that I know of. But that is why I said "shifted". We are always evolving. Even with Palo, you evolve and transform on your spiritual journey. My padrino,Tatas, and Yaya in Palo have evolved in their own ways. This was just how I evolved/shifted in my way and as I said in the video, I'm still a Palera. I just work in my own way and was sharing part of the story on my journey. I hope that helps and thanks for visiting my channel Sis.
No such thing? Please do some research on the origins of Palo. If it wasn’t for the Africans specifically from the Kongo kingdom “Cuban Palo” wouldn’t exist!

Nice sis where did you went for all your initiation?
You popped up! I was scratched in Palo, and shifted immediately to Ifa......traved to Benin...but feel incomplete with my Palo side.....
Yes a lot of people feel that way with Palo, which is why I'm trying to give insight to others through sharing some of my own journey.

Very inciteful video. That was my experience initially. I imitated first into Palo Kimbisa, then I initiated into Ifa in the Isese Lagba tradition.
Thank you for watching and sharing your experience.
Very interesting! Thank you for sharing! 😊

Great video; Can you do a compare/contrast video between Palo Mayombe & Kongo Spirituality?
Thank you! I will definitely put that on my list of topics to cover.

Greetings sister. Is there a way I can contact you? Our stories somewhat parallel and I’d appreciate your insight on a few things.
Yes, admin@isis-moon.com
In my personal situation I could not initiate into Ifa until I initiated into the Congo tradition
How can I find traditional Kongo priest can’t find none here in the U.S

Is there a way to speak with directly for a better understanding of how to put this spirituality into practice?
Yes, you can email me at admin@isis-moon.com or visit isis-moon.com to book a consultation.
Question for anyone... Would you all say that This is Stronger that Paulo and or what a Brujo can do?
What's the name of the song playing in the background? What she is saying and that song is stuck in my head
I'm not sure. It was chosen by my editor.

Stop taking Afrakan spiritual practice to Latin America. These ppl do not like us.
You do know there afro descendants in Latin America. There been afro practices in Latin America since colonization but it more hidden back then
Those people are black
