I first started listening to Monstercat back in 2012, and this is the first album mix I remember listening to. I was blown away at how many incredible songs were all on the same album and I loved Monstercat for many years after this. I still love them, but don't listen as much as I used to (partially because I listen to so many different types of music now.) I've been listening to all the album mixes lately though, and this one is still the peak for me personally. I never actually knew what "solace" meant and I looked it up and it means "comfort or consolation in a time of distress or sadness." I consider 2012 to be one of the best years of my life, and while I don't remember many if any sad moments of that year, I have had a few sad times over the following years, but this music and lots of other great music has helped me through the tough times. Now that I know what solace means, I think I'll go back to this album more often in times of hardship, because thinking back to how good life was in 2012 as a happy little 15 year old boy makes me feel grateful to be alive and to have all the wonderful memories I have. Thank you Monstercat, for helping to improve my life in the past and still to this day through the wonderful artists that you display to the world. Happy 10 years to the greatest Monstercat album ❤

The track list in this is perfect and RIP to House by Overwerk! Crazy that it is no longer available all due to him wanting to be an independent artist which is not a bad thing! This has to be Monstercat's best album, other than 015 (Outlook). Honestly, I can't believe I left myself all this time before finding out about this album. I'm now taking the time to slowly listen to all of the older songs; sometimes the old ones are better than the new ones. Though that can't truly be said for Insan3lik3, he's always been amazingly talented and what he does :D
I'm sure it can't JUST be nostalgia, but I swear 80% of these songs are better than 90% of the songs Monstercat puts out in the last couple of years, all the artists have gone all melo/dull sounding, so many of these tracks just hit HARD, such a good album. Even around 017/018/019/021 were all pretty good, but since then it's just gone down and down into boring, but I will always appreciate them for this gold stuff from old days.
This is one of the only pieces that welcomes my youthful spirit back, to dance and smile and cry and laugh. I love the visual but one thing I didn't realise back then was how awesome the music is in total. Brings me back memories of when I first met Monstercat every time I listen to this. :)
project 46 reasons is the reason i love this i was reading a book to 007 and a huge plot twist happened at the seconded of the drop which made the twist literally 500% better

This video was a core childhood memory. Discovering the visuals were done by Beeple after falling in love with his work as an adult was insane. Both held a special place in my memory and discovering they were connected all along was a wild ride.
Since everyone is sharing their own anecdotes with their experience listening to this mix, I'll give mine. When I was 12, I discovered this album for the first time. It was absolutely mind-blowing, before this point I only really listened to what was on the radio and hardly ever went out of my way to hear new music. I loaded this mix up on an mp3 and listened to it everywhere, when I went out to visit old high school friends we used to hang out on streets with this mix in one earbud. For an optional school trip, we went on a 100 mile hike that took hours. The sights were some of the most beautiful I'd ever seen, as I'd never been this far into nature before. As I climbed up big cliff sides with gorgeous waterfalls, this mix sound-tracked the entire trip. I played it through again, and again, and again. It was the most magical experience and songs like Reasons by Project 46 about nature only heightened the experience, I walked away from that being a completely different person, one who learned the value in introspection and being at one with the universe. I don't think that would have happened without this mix, and I will forever be grateful for the path that it set me on. That was 10 years ago now.
