Very entertaining and informative Blake. Looking forward to your future videos!!! Nicely done. Oh, and don’t compliment Dan too much. Won’t be able to get his head into the museum in May!!! Lol!!!!
Great job, Blake! Like Al said, I'm looking forward to future videos too! I sure enjoyed seeing the working Predicta Rivera, never see the little console models, they are as nice as the exposed CRT Predictas, in my opinion and it seems they are much more rare.
See the nobs at the top in the back of the set Magnavox did the same thing on their 1960s TVs. The photo of the predicta show room just think everyone that walked through it in it's time is dead. Just imagine some of those TVs that were hauled to landfills may have had CRTs that were like new. Nice collection of predictas.
Lemme say, I’m not a tv collector and I don’t know why UA-cam threw this channel my way, but this is so cool. Can you actually watch tv 📺 on these old models?
I have a Philco predict a full dress that’s an excellent condition except the CRT back is missing. I would love to have it repaired but cannot find anyone who still repairs these older TVs. Wondering if you have any recommendations? I am in Palm Springs California and they’re just Hass to be somebody that still can repair these. I’ve never plugged it in because I’ve been waiting to find the right professional. Any advice?
Eric!! Email me!! The full dress is my specialty!!! It’s my favorite set and the reason I collect predicta! Shoot me an email! I’ll help you out! I was just in PS in may!
Awesome thanks for your response! I am new to this UA-cam messaging so I will look for your email on here to figure out how to find you. I understand you don’t want to post it publicly I can find it. Super excited to connect
I got so excited I didn’t even watch to the end I just messaged you after about five minutes in Ha ha ha I will watch the whole thing and email you today
If the original Philco tubes were short lived and poor quality, could they have been substituted by better ones made by other manufacturers? Would someone else's tubes fit, or were they unique to Philco?
At first it was just philco but shortly after the predicta was sold, GE made an improved upon variant that is the gold standard if one finds a replacement tube in the wild.
I believe sometime in the mid 60’s but they were bought by Ford so they really made TVs into the mid 70’s I believe.. the mid 60’s is when the original design influence of Philco I’m sure was farmed out.
I had a 1951 Motorola television some trucker gave me I tried to rebuild it but it was very hard to do I'm not good electricity or working on things high-voltage dangerous things what's a beautiful TV so I put a plasma TV in the cabinet and hooked up a Bose subwoofer surround sound system where the original speaker was sounds very good and it looks very cool plasma TV you can change the color black and white or color look I tried to fix it but the fly back was bad and I'm not good with electricity so I don't want to get shocked
Wow; I know Larry, he’s refurbished a Philco holiday for me! Awesome guy, I love chatting with him - knows so much about Philco!!
Oh-Wow! Philco Predicta 1950's model. Very interesting video. Thanks for this video.

Dave Pike I agree my friend! Thank you for the encouragement! See you very soon! :)
I never heard anything about the "tube in chassis" models. Great work telling others about what you learned !
Blake, does Dan reproduce the diode setup? I've been meaning to ask Crist, I need to email him now... I keep forgetting
I love your hat!
Well done! I'm looking forward to more! But... Weren't there 1958 models that came out in late 57?
Joe Wilson actually no, the predicta line wasn’t even announced until sept of 1958.
It was announced in sept of 1958 on the miss America television show. Sponsored by Philco.

The Sencore CR7000 has the best tube rejuvenation circuit and one of the safest.
One of the best CRT testers is the sencore 7000

When was the last philco television set produced?
