- I know we hear daily about "The Next Jackie Evancho." We all know there is no one like our Jackie, but this little girl is the closest I have seen to her natural gift, the music obviously flows through her, and the performance is magical! She is 8-year old Anastasia Petrik from the Ukraine. I have taken a few poetic liberties in translation of the lyrics, hopefully it makes more sense than some of the literal translations offered.

Oh boy. How I miss these day of happiness. I had many hours of happiness watching these 2 perform together. Maybe one day the 2 of them will perform together again, that's my dream.

@@KennethMachnica-vj3hf my information is that mum and Victoria went down to Italy and were staying with friends or family but I don't know how accurate that info is.
As for Anastasia, her father was already living in America and Anastasia joined him in America from Poland. I know Anastasia is not happy and is missing her friends and family back in the Ukraine. Anastasia has also said she wants to pursue a singing career in America. I also understand that Anastasia mum and Victoria will be joining Anastasia shortly.

@@KennethMachnica-vj3hf when her family lived in Ukraine they all lived in Odessa and the bombing started about 5am their time. So mum Victoria and Anastasia fled to Poland. Anastasia could have gone to Italy but wanted to be with her dad in philby as he had been there for about 3 months.
She is truly beautiful. Her voice and stage presence are outstanding for such a young kid.

@@nikolatesla8467, I sometimes have wondered how many others have thought the same! I have crushed on his for years. He is beautiful, or should I say "was." To me, this performance was "A Moment In Time", exquisitely captured on video, and I am so thankful to the person that taped this. They have both changed so much in looks and voice. I fear I will never again see such a moving performance, but thankful to be able to view this over and over again and again. ♥

Now! This is a far better key for her voice - this is a better performance than the previous one I heard of her singing. This song shows the quality of her vocal chords much better. As well, I do not hear daily of "The Next Jackie Evancho", and I dare say I am glad of it. I see no point to such comparisons. Anastasia Petrik, and similarly talented girls, have voices and abilities unique to them. The fact that none sing like Jackie does not make their potential any less striking to hear and observe; nor is Jackie's voice, however wondrous, the lone inimitable standard by which all other young voices should be critiqued. Indeed, if everyone sounded the same, music would soon become quite boring! Do let's simply treasure the variety, the awesome breadth of talent shared by gifted children around the world! I am happy to praise each one, not for whom she most closely resembles, but rather for who she is and the rich blessing she is able to share.
I agree that there is no girl currently, that I have heard, that comes close to Jackie 'The Standard' Evancho, in stage presence, voice, charm, humility, spirit, or talent, but...this girl, Anastasia Petrik is the only girl that ranks second, but in a different genre; but what is Anna's genre? I need to see some more of Anna. I could see them doing a duet!
I would in no way suggest that Jackie's vocal talent surpasses all, child or adult. Jackie is excellent, yes, but for her age. She is not better than, for example, someone highly-trained like Cecilia Bartoli, whose repertoire is far more mature and challenging. Yet, she need not be the next Cecelia; she can establish a legacy for herself. The same is true for little Anastasia and other notable gifted young singers. These children also have strong vocal talents. Their developing voices are unique enough that we can appreciate them for their outstanding quality and potential. Anastasia is a wonderful singer, and I enjoy her voice very much. A lovely child, indeed! She is not second to me. She never need be like anyone, or be anything but herself. This is my point.
Walt Milem She's too young yet, but has song more genre than Jackie has. Jackie is opera, where Anna sings older American rock songs, to Russian folk, to Russian/Ukrainian pop to classics, and those of other languages, and current hits, including American pop
iamlost2 These are the facts (since most are NOT familiar with Jackie like I am)...Jackie not only sings Opera, but also Broadway, Pop, Aria, Contemporary, and (her main genre) Classical Crossover, and she sings in American (English), Celtic, Italian, Spanish, French, and Japanese. I do like this Anna, and she does have alot of charisma, but, of course, IN MY OPINION, JEM far surpasses anyone either in her age range of, let's say, 15 years, of anyone I know of that's currently alive. And of course, it's complete waste of time to argue opinion...I just state the facts. And another fact, JEM is the ONLY ONE who ALWAYS, from the start, gets emotional responses from her audience (eg: The great David Foster) like she does whether she's in concert, tv, or a personal appearance.
