Idk why everyone hates on gen16 like I love them. With an electric kit having these would look sooooooo much better than having rubber disks all over the place. That's just me though.

Larnell is my hero! So fun to watch! He's inspired me to want to continue progressing, and using Drumeo to do that. Drumeo membership is definitely worth it! I'm loving it. Thanks for including Larnell in your instructor arsenal. I use an E-kit and need to get some acoustic cymbals like this cause I'm just using the E-cymbals with my kit.

This is the first vid where I start to believe in electronic drums.
You can still hear the machine gun effect in fast fills though dam it.

You need to hear these drums going through a VST program like Superior Drummer or Addictive Drums..there is no machine gun effect.
I have Yamahas. DTX700 module. I cannot get any "machine-gun effect" to happen even in the tightest press-roll buzz-rolls possible, it just sounds like a real drum all the time. No problems at all. And I hear no such thing in this video either. What exactly are you calling machine gun here and at what 00:00 time do you hear it?
thebarak At 4:30 it sounds pretty machine gun-ny to me. Superior drummer pretty much eliminates that. Future's bright!

+Panufo +Jellybeantiger +Sam Nabors There's a chance that the triggers and sensitivity and so on aren't set up properly, on the high end drum kits made by Roland and Yamaha there is very little machine gunning

Insanely good lesson, such feel, timing, perfection and sheer heart - all of which draws from imagination. Another breath-taking drummer, another great video (it's nice to see a full lesson back on UA-cam!) and it's nice to see accomplished drummers like Jared and Dave be jealous of another accomplished drummer. I've been into metal drumming for years but it's a very refreshing thing to listen to such a nice drumming style.
I met Larnell and watched him perform with the jazz band instructor of my school, which is about an hour from Toronto. He is without a doubt one of my biggest drumming inspirations! This lesson was amazing! Really cool gear as well! I love all the lessons on drumeo, but I'm hoping to see more live lessons regarding swing and jazz drumming. I'm having a really hard time grasping the concept of snare chatter and keeping the same groove moving through the entire song. :(

What is the name of the sound that he's using on the Yamaha DTX 950kit?
i did not expect his voice to sound the way it does
Drumset is the Yamaha's flagship DTX950K and the cymbals is e-set Zildijan 16Gen.
Ordered the Syncopation book almost immediately after he said it lol.
Are the Gen 16s running through the Zildjian module only, or is the Yamaha module being used as well? Just got a set for my birthday and am looking into how to achieve better sounds with them. Thanks!
Awesome awesome channel. how about an in depth review on other DTX series? I just bought the 430K and found theres no supporting material from yamaha as far as midi stuff and working with the module. Also how to connect and work the laptop (recording, etc).
