The emphasis of the choreography hitting every beat in their songs is a definitive part of kpop. Namjoon explained it once. He said since they don't play instruments on stage , their bodies are the instruments expressing the musicality. It's one of the main reasons I love BTS and kpop performances in general.
Absolutely the right decision! For Springday you need time, lots of tissues and a long time to process it 😞 I still haven't finished watching a few documentaries about the tragedy, because I can't stand it. I'm sure you feel the same way. But today is the perfect day for "Not Today" 😎💜🤘🏻
Hi Frankie and Irene. Yes you're always right...Spring Day will remind everybody of the tragic incident and will just feel sad. We need a happy song for the Christmas season.Borahae💜
💜💜Not Today is inspired by one of the famous quotes by Martin Luther King Jr., “If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl. But whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.” It's all about fighting authority and "breaking the glass ceiling." Its 2017 releases coincided with civil unrest in South Korea as a response to governmental corruption. RM confirmed as much when asked about the song by the Korea Herald. "I wrote the lyrics for BTS so we do not stay silent against social issues and injustice and continue to solve it and raise problem," he said. "We talk about social issues, read books and meet with experts and ponder together. We still have a long way to go, but we will think hard and embrace criticism." The lyrics of "Not Today" speak of overcoming obstacles and keep fighting, while instilling hope in oneself. In the opening lyrics, RM calls out to "all the underdogs in the world." It discusses the theme of anti-establishment that was featured in their previous singles "No More Dream" and "N.O.", through lines like, "A day may come when we lose/ But it is not today/ Today we fight!" During the chorus, the band speak of rallying against injustice, corruption and irrationality; "Don’t kneel, don’t cry, raise your hands Not not today." The line, "Break the glass ceiling that cages you" references the idea of breaking all invisible barriers that stop people from succeeding. The lyrics addressed social and political issues (they are trying to rally the youth and let them know life is worth fighting for, possibly in response to the extremely high rates of youth "unaliving" in their country from a generation that feels lost, unempowered and desperate.)💜💜 The next time a day is getting you down... shout...No, Not Today!!! It works wonders 😊 Borahae... sounds like Bora hey... As Irene said. Have a great day Frankie and Irene 💜
Honestly, best call to make was putting off the Spring Day reaction since that one will be longer and does deserve its own time, I'd argue. And yup, it's "boar-a-hey" if we're doing a phonetic pronunciation. See you at the RoB premiere!
That dance just slaps you in the face & I love it! Too good! Yes, it's (as far as I know) pronounced 'bora-hay'. At least that's how I say it. Merry Christmas to you, Irene and the babies! 💜💜💜
You are mistaken, there are no decorations or video graphics in the video. Almost all of their videos were filmed in natural rooms or spaces. Documentaries about how videos for each song were filmed serve as proof of this. Because each song has several of them, plus separate videos with choreography. For example, the manifesto song "O" was filmed as a medieval fairy tale, on a site near a dam in California and at the Central Station in New York.
@@frankiebiggz Just to explain a bit, as the translation was a bit wonky... Their MVs usually have behind the scenes shoot sketches and dance practices, so we pretty much know how they did it. They do a lot of practical work, and not much is CGI, green screen, animated, etc. And there are two MV versions for 'ON', one more choreography based and filmed at the dam - a kinetic manifesto, the other one more of a medieval storyline. And they also had a brilliant performance of ON live at Grand Central Station for Jimmy Fallon! 💜
Hi Frankie!!! Good morning This song comes to my mind every time I think I can't go on, that's when I remember them and tell myself "no, not today" It's just like Irene said: "borahe"
Hello! I was looking forward to hearing your reaction to "Not Today" It's the kind of song and choreography that make you say "WOW!!" They were young but the whole future of BTS is visible in this song...Spring Day is on another level...it can't be pigeonholed...reacting to it before Christmas can be difficult especially if you watch the explanation...Thanks for your reaction which delights me...I wanted to watch "Rise of Bangtan" chapter 13 but no subtitles...I know the video but it's your impressions that are important...So "don't forget the captions" 😉🤗💜BORAHAE!!

When you do Spring Day, I recommend the Italian Army explanation. I think it is hard hitting direct and well thought out with footage which ties the mv to the event represented in the mv.
Good call. Spring Day the song was written before the Sewol Ferry corruption case disaster but the relevance was immediately recognised and the mv every shot is significant to Sewol. ITALIAN ARMY SEWOL EXPLAINED is head and tails the best. But it needs a mental health warning. Personally I was so full of rage after watching it .... and there was no one to talk to about it. Luckily you have a reaction channel so your ability to express that will hopefully not leave you as devastated as most of us were the first time warching it. I must be on my 20th time now, and instead of feeling impotent I now feel focused on the responsibility we all have to be aware of what is going on around us. The disaster resulted in the impeachment of the last Conservative president.
"Spring Day" is our Queen.👑 Since her release in 2017, she's never left the Korean chart, so it's fair to say she rules supreme. 😉 I'd recommend taking your time for this song. It's full of meaning and emotion and the MV is packed with symbolism. As they highlight different aspects & theories, I'd love to hear your take on both! And don't forget the captions!😄 💜💜 p.s. it's Bora-'hay' as in straw
Frankie, Spring Day is about a tragedy that happened in 2014 in school trip, they were in a ferry and it sinked k*lling almost 300 people or over 300, I’m not sure anymore. The Italian Army video has the explanation in detail and she gathered many facts to explain all the controversy about what happened. It’s a very heavy topic, very heavy video but it’s a very important song and MV. Since it was released in 2017, Spring Day has never left the South Korean music charts
When you do “Spring Day” UA-cam channel “Rotten Tomatoes Mango” does the best explanation so believe. I watched many docs on the tragedy and all are good but her telling if all real life stories are all telling, thank you for “Not Today” thank you 🤗
Ironically, for the holidays, you chose a song where they're being chased, shot at, albeit defiant. 😂 (Are you turning on subtitles?) But it's a great song and video, of course. Spring Day is about missing people and references many things, including a tragedy in which many schoolchildren drowned. It would be helpful for you if you read a bit about each song before you watched it. For every video, there is a dance practice you can also watch. And often a behind the scenes video, often called shooting sketch. Songs that are greatly enhanced by pairing with an explanatory video are Spring Day and Anpanman. "Bookish Things" has good explanatory videos.
