a couple of years ago my mother was in the hospital very ill. she had been like this for days. I was very sad, devastated. That day I was sitting in a cafe with the sadness that only a daughter with a mother in agony can have when some random people sat next to me very very close and played that song several times. They started talking about life and death and I couldn't believe it .. the song was so beautiful and it touched my heart .. I closed my eyes and the sun and a beautiful breeze caressed my face in a special and magical way. I took a big breath, I sighed and left there. it was a beautiful and spiritual moment. minutes later my sister called me to tell me that my mother had left .. I don't think it was a coincidence ..

TODAY i was feeling blue and unmotivated at work this morning, when I started reflecting on impermanence and nonattachment in the afternoon. Had an impulse to look for the asatoma mantra on youtube, clicked here and continued meditating. Suddenly this feeling I can't describe arose. It has happened before, but this time was stronger and with clearer vision. I understood nonattachment and impermanence once again, and all the sorrow and anxiety disappeared. Instead I felt joy, peace and balance. I had an urge to kneel on the ground as a reverence, but have no idea why I did so. It was strange, as if I was not in control, but it felt great.
I could do tasks with full attention, not on autopilot, and felt like I was conscious of my actions. I could make my own decisions, and not let the system rush me through life.
I saw the purpose of my work, to make something to help other people in the future. I couldn't see what exactly, but understood it was the means for something good to take place. And it was enough for me.
Not bad for a Tuesday afternoon...
