    This chassis was my first proper drift build, and so far it drifts really nice, especially on some Yokomo Big Bore Shocks. I still have a long way to go before sliding at Super-G though lol

    Hey Nez0, thanks for the well explained and detailed video. I will check check the result with that D5 mr V2. 3Racing has the advantage to be correctly distributed in Europe. However, as a drift noob but already have some buggies and crawler, I am thinking of a son- father project, as we have a drift permanent track that just opens near where I live. What would be between this D5, the RMX 2.5 and the newest Reve D, the right choice to begin? Drifting seems really techy, and would want to start on a good step.

    • @BadShoppe
      @BadShoppe  Рік тому +1

      Thank you for watching! :) All of those cars are great choices in the budget category. The D5 generally is the nicest to your wallet, RMX 2.5 and Reve-D RDX offer a lot of nice details from the box as well. Out of those three cars from the box I loved the Reve-D RDX the most. It's a tight battle but if i had to choose on the spot in a hurry if all three were right in front of me it would be the Reve-D RDX Kit.

    Hello I just got this kit in the mail today from elite drift shop and I am very pleased with it. What front shock set up would you recommend going with. Nice video very informative. Thanks

      Aww yiss very nice! So far my D5 MR v2 is running good with the IFS suspension setup but the amount of suspension travel is quite low out of the box...seems like 4mm of travel in the front. I will test with the shock tower soon. Personally I like shock tower setups vs IFS style.

    great vid nezo! just wondering tho how does the laying down shock position help and which is better, the normal shock position or the laying down one

    • @BadShoppe
      @BadShoppe  Рік тому +1

      Personally I like the normal shock positioning with a tower for more tuning options/settings. Laydown (IFS) style suspensions are used a lot in racing cars especially in open wheel cars to keep the weight in the center of the chassis and also to keep the center or gravity low.

    Love a good Ricky-ism! Have you tried any of the aliexpress d5 belt drive clones? Looking at getting a d5s or mr with the aluminium upgrades throughout but not sure which way to go. Will be my first rwd drift chassis too

    • @BadShoppe
      @BadShoppe  Місяць тому +1

      Yiss Ricky-isms :) Forget the D5 clones and Aliexpress altogether because 1. Clone chassis are garbage and 2. Aliexpress stole my content and uses it on their mobile app.
      I would suggest the Actual 3Racing D5 MR-V2

    • @MAJ_T_Bagger
      @MAJ_T_Bagger Місяць тому

      @BadShoppe I had noticed your content on the 3 racing kits... that's not cool.. Aliexpress is really my only option for these chassis at a good price being in NZ though. I'll probably get an mrv2, but yea would be like 400nzd here vs 220nzd on aliexpress.. plus that'll probably be where I get all the electronics too, rc stuff is crazy overpriced in country here. Been getting everything from Australia or aliexpress.

    really considering getting this kit, will a tt02 body fit these ? and are those good on asphalt? i havent found any drift tracks anywhere close to my location, definitely looks like a nice kit, any help is greatly appreciated

    • @BadShoppe
      @BadShoppe  Місяць тому +1

      TT02 bodies...yes and no. Yes they will fit but it will not fit well or look good. Typically Tamiya bodies are 190mm and are too narrow. I recommend 200mm width bodies for this chassis. I ran my older D5-RR on a very Tennis courts and it was a riot :D

    Uh-oh. You're going to find out how bad it is out of box. Those stock front knuckles are complete trash. Also, the whole hex, bearing, wheel nut situation isn't fixed. They still use weird plastic hexes that strip very easy and odd axles with an M3 nut instead of M4. I'll post a parts list that fixes all those issues. D5 Mr is my current comp build and this thing has the speed and grip to push just about any other chassis off the track.

      You shouldn’t have to buy extra parts to make your chassis drive-able. These parts are rushed to make an extra quick buck before they release another version or a whole new chassis. 3Racing is really screwing up lately

    • @DJ.1001
      @DJ.1001 Рік тому +1

      @@mattosmond4265 If you want a complete kit that performs top notch straight out of the box there are plenty of options for you, they all cost $400+. Even with all the parts I listed + aluminum shocks and titanium turnbuckles all around my d5mr build cost about half of a yd2-sxiii.

      I have an almost completely stock D5 RR v1 and it's completely fine and keepup with the pricey cars as well. There's either a discrepancy between your car and your competitor's or you might need more seat & tuning time.

    • @samuelsousa5338
      @samuelsousa5338 Рік тому

      A budget oriented car is ideally supposed to stay budget. Although the car isnt perfect, it's pretty damn decent for the price compared to a plastic fantastic yd2

    I’m really tired of companies releasing “new” products with very minor upgrades. Yokomo has been doing it for years, now 3Racing. I bought the D5RR and the MR and had to upgrade the MR myself(which was a pain). If drift companies come out with something new or a revision of the original product just sell the pieces as a kit. They need to stop making, version 2.0….with 4 gears instead of 3…and so fourth. Either sell the upgraded parts to the original buyers of the product or wait and put the new parts or upgraded geometry (with additional upgrades) in a whole new chassis like the D6.

    • @BadShoppe
      @BadShoppe  Рік тому +1

      I was feeling the same with this V2 version only have 2 major differences (although one was needed, the wheel axle nuts) I didn't realize tho that 3Racing changed the magnet mounts so they are now the smaller (but still strong) round magnets that I got on my AuperD5 (aww yiss). New jam seems to be going back to belts...so many D6 Belt? lol :D
