"endgame" is a meme term that keeps you buying expensive boards in the hopes that one might cure your keyboard purchasing addiction. the real endgame is realizing you love the keyboards you have and you don't really need any more because the ones you have look, sound, and feel good, and they do what a keyboard does: type. be happy with what you have and save up for a new hobby, get a dirtbike or something. this is coming from someone who loves keyboards. trust me

This video actually made me appreciate my mister suit a bit more. I yearned for a vento but realized I was just bummed I didn't get the evolv and was fomoing on this one. The biggest thing I can appreciate about the vento aside from the matrix-esque design is that you can build it without the foams and have a nice bouncy typing experience and still get a good sound signature whereas the mister suit you kinda have to use all the foams because it sounded so weird without them but you end up with something stiffer.
I was never really a keyboard enthusiast, I just saw the opportunity to make my perfect board and I did, thanks to you and a lot of time and money t trying different things. Your videos helped me above all the other creators’, the last I “needed” being your video on the Akko Mod 003. Got one for myself in grey, waited for nigh on 3 years through covid for my GMK panels to arrive and at the perfect moment the zeal clickiez came out. Paired perfectly with the Rama works m6-C (the one that has a grey and prime colour retro gaming palette). Sure I kinda want a hall effect board for gaming but, mainly thanks to you and your videos, I can confidently say I have my endgame - I only come back to watch your uploads occasionally cause you’re a nice dude :)
I'm new to custom keyboard and I purchased a kzzi k75 pro (arcade model with kzzi moment pre lub linear switches). as soon I got it I tape mod it and changed the keycaps for something more translucent and ticker. I am happy with the sound, feel and quality of this setup. I sit on my desk everyday, write code and the sound it makes and feel makes me proud. This is my endgame keyboard.
@@KeyboredI've always been mechanical keyboard person. I've have razer blackwidow ultimate 2013. after that I got a black widow elite. they both retired now and in there boxes and still in functional condition. razer builds long lasting components. that being said, for sure my new k75 pro does sound and feel much better, I am not sure it will last as long as those razer. I guess time will tell haha.
What I've heard is that endgame is just when you run out of money. But I think it obviously has to meet a sound, feel, aesthetic and level of functionality that you're happy with. And like you said, it needs to invoke that feeling of specialness. Not really sure if finding your endgame would stop you from purchasing new and upcoming keyboards though.
I'll be honest and say that Owlabs have kinda missed the mark, mainly because I think as a company they are kind of not sure where exactly they want to go for their higher end stuff compared to the qwertykey boards, particularly the neo series which pretty much captures most of the essence of old owlab boards in a ridiculously low price point due to high MOQ, simple-and-good design, and honestly these days, even wins out older owlab boards in the no-foam department, not to mention some pretty innovative engineering behind some of the board design choices like the magnetic quick connect, "stack" mounts options, etc. That left really little room to go for the higher end models besides going for more "aesthetic" choices, which, I really feel this is hit-and-miss, and acoustically a lot of these aesthetic choices end up being worse, and due to the intricacy involved in the machining, the cost also goes up significantly. It somewhat reminds me of the issue faced when monokei tried to bring out the more mainstream jane ME v2, which imo really misses the mark with the multitude of issues in terms of the engineering design, the acoustics, and also some QC problems that came together with it, all due to the aesthetic choice of "screwless" and a more modern look to the more "plain jane" look that, ironically, should design the jane. End game is personal, and so there's nothing wrong with folks who find this board end game, and there will definitely be folks who gets drawn strongly to the aesthetic of this board, which is definitely one of it's kind. It's just that I'm not a fan of the deviation of the owlabs brand from a more mainstream appeal kind of brand that's hard to get due to pricing/availability, to a brand that now a lot more niche (even more niche than matrixlabs from what I can tell), that also seem to have a lot of gimmicks rather than features.
Another great review, thanks Scott! The Vento does sound similar to the evolve, which is fine since that's also good. I also agree that I like the Suit more than either, but still another great release by Owllabs!
Wow! Even with all the foam it still sound quite lively with the GMK caps! The Vento 80 actually sounds a little deeper but I think it's still got a little clack, just not as much.
for whatever it’s worth, Alexotos has mentioned the issue with the latest Kailh sockets in some of his recent streams. I’m honestly so done with hotswap sockets that I’d prefer to buy a solder PCB and mill max, but I recognize that’s a hard sell for most.

Very interesting to hear your take on the sound, I definitely trust what your view is given you've heard them (and vastly more boards) in person than I have, but from those sounds tests, the Mr Suit sounded more solid than the Vento which to me seemed almost more hollow of flimsy which is weird given the quality of construction and heft to the board

Thanks for asking! I think everyone struggles with something but it's good to know that there are people that care!
@@Keybored Understandable, i have had a rough year myself. Lots of hospital visits and time off of work. Just letting you know that your videos always make my day, Scott. Keep crushing it.
0:00 it's price
Looks great but sounds like a QK80 to me and for that price?! I think I’ll skip this one.
Sounds good, but I have no positive comments about its appearance.
:)
Kohaku is endgame
I need one
this guy is a professional yapper.
HAHA that’s all these aesthetic ahh keyboard channels
I try
No ISO
matrix for poor people :D
but definitly nice board
That the new Korean style?
Hahaha when in Rome!
Get an ergo-something, you need thumbclusters.
Lol there's no such thing as endgame, every new toy is always going to be an endgame until someone is mature enough to fully understand what contentment and detachment to material things
The only thing I hate is that thing with the red button on the arrrow keys, I find it really ugly.
:) maybe they can have a different color
Nice design but sounds like every other QK/OwlLabs board.
I do prefer the sound of their older stuff
Vento looks so alive and fun but sounds a little boring. Mr. Suit is the very opposite. If we swap the sounds of these two, I would want them both :)
510 and still no ISO?! disappointed!
Haha, I should check if they have an iso option as one of the choices!
