For weeks I couldn't figure out why this song makes me ugly cry EVERY time....I'm sure it's meant to be a song about a boyfriend but it's my daddy issues song to the core! With a dad who was unfaithful to my mom annually and made promises to come home and do better but never followed through....I'm almost sure I told him not to say goodbye when I was really young. Almost 37yrs old and it still hurts/hits home. I cannot thank Lennon enough for this album and all of her amazing songs before. I became a fan when I started watching Nashville because I missed my mom and she was diehard county music fan...the talent she and Maisy have is unmatched by anyone new (and most veterans) nowadays.
