Yes , Because of what Ragnar told Ivar , that he was chosen to sail with him 1 last time , Ivar considered himself to be superior to His brothers , of course he misinterpreted Ragnars words and i’ll always hate Ivar for driving his brothers apart…. but Ruthless He Was .
That one reason why I liked him so much more than Bjorn, Bjorn never seems to care about his kids dying at all but Ragnar definitely cared about his daughter dying.
@mask Upperkut this scene was a masterpiece ! or the scene where halfdan and king harald sang in the forest in old norse before going to battle. just goosebumps

The Ragnar burying Athelstan is so sad. You can truly feel his emotions, it also is such a great moment of him burying him with a cross. Ragnar truly was ahead of his time as a viking.
Yes this is the best scene in the show. It is tied with when Ragnar sees his family hallucinating from early farm days. Literally the most emotional scene in cinematics

Ragnar is my favorite Viking and was a great King. He was wise as he was smart. Unfortunately he also had a lot of pride and ego, which lead to his downfall, but he was a great warrior and leader. The show was never the same without him, thank you Travis Fimmel for your portrayal of this great character.
When he says goodbye to his daughter on the beach and when he is talking with Bjorn on the mountain just after becoming king. "Power is only given to those who are willing to lower themselves to pick it up."
I loved how Ragnar, more so in the early seasons, looked crazed and like he would lash out at any second. Earl Ragnar had such passion and love for life, he was never the same as King.
There are so many incredible scenes to choose from, I'll have to say when Ragnar and Athelstan talked about believing in each others gods, was one of my favorites

Truly an incredible series! I just recently finished watching it through for the first time. When my friend recommended it to me I had no idea what I was getting into but Vikings is definitely one of my favorite shows of all time.
I love the last conversation with Ecbert. A worthy adversary should be respected, there is always something new to learn from them! When he says goodbye to Althestan.. I know that pain & hatred from loss all to well unfortunately! 💔
Now THAT'S a real character. Mighty, powerful, just, yet flawed. Ragnar wasn't the best person. He wasn't a saint, not a hero, certainly not pious, but what he was is humanely real! Who knows what the real Ragnar (if he did indeed exist) had been like, but what Travis Fimmel portrayed is too brilliant and raw! This single performance will continue to be on my top 5 list of the best pieces of cinematic history. Long Live King Ragnar!👑

Before he got hanged, Ecbert took one last look at Ragnar before he got into the cage. His admiration for him was something else. He claimed he was 8 foot tall, and considered him a friend.
